Why the MTV Movie Brawl is an inaccurate portrayal of what movie-goers actually want to see.

Now, after logging on today and checking our @GodzillaMovies twitter account, I was astonished to see so many arguments going on between both fandoms. It was ridiculous!
Here's why fans should not get themselves worked up over this survey and why members should not start topics / rants about it here. It's MTV. Plain and simple. Nothing against MTV, but it's not the right demographic that Godzilla would normally appeal to.
The shows they put out are shows like Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf, etc... I know because my girlfriend is into that crap and often times has it playing on our TV. The commercials say it all = the network is focused on teenie-boppers, who are still high off the Twilight fad.
So to host a survey on a site whose taret audience is that demographic explains why Godzilla lost. Hell, I'm surprised Godzilla even gave them a run for their money. It would have been like SPIKE TV hosting a survey pitting the two films together. That network (my kind of network) targets young to middle-age men and hosts shows like Deadliest Warrior, Bar Rescue, A Thousand Ways to Die as well as having the most epic movie marathons.
So really, it was never a fair fight. The spam and arguments taking place on social networks over this is ridiculous and laughable. The fact that some fans get this heated over one debate is remarkable.
So I say chill it out guys, we all know Godzilla is going to bring home the bacon this year. If not for the beast himself, it'll be for the incredible VFX and of course, the stellar cast! Half the 'Vampire Academy' fans probably never even heard of Breaking Bad or were too young to have watched it. So, it makes sense they wouldn't know or care about Godzilla. So, there's no point to argue.
Anyways, I thought I should post this up so we don't get a ton of topics about the movie brawl winding up on here with more rants and arguments.
