MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 12:31 AMI can't believe none of you have even thought to talk about this, all these discussions about his size and no one thought to bring this image up.
This image is pulled straight from the trailer and it not only shows the possible size of Godzilla's foot but some dead people on the side that make a good comparison to how big this Godzilla is going to be compared to normal people. I'm not going to do math but if you consider how the leaked action figure from before, you can sort of put the pieces together yourself. Thanks to KAIJUSAURUS for bringing that to our attention. I'd post the image of the figure's leg and foot but it's been removed.
P.S. I know that Warner Bros. said the leaked figure is fake but I don't believe them at all.
1) The figure looks EXACTLY like Godzilla from the leaked poster image and the few shots we got of him from the trailer.
2) If it's not fake why did they remove the images? No harm done in leaving them up if they are really fake.
Discuss or attack me on my theories, regardless we have further clues to his size.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 1:08 AMconsidering that there is no indication of another footprint, he has a very large stride.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 1:36 AMThe image is kind of irrelevant as it does not really give us a clear image of his size & a foot size will not determine his length, width or height IMO. This image is just a classic destruction scene left by the King of Monsters.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 1:56 AMIf anything of Godzilla compressed that car, it might be a toe. Not an entire width of the foot. way to small...could be a MUTO as well. But i'm inclined to agree with the above statement...just some random destruction. Remember..that snipit of footage comes from the original teaser from 2012...nothing was even being filmed yet so we may get something entirely different as far as the train goes.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 2:08 AMI've thought of this already. xD It wasn't on this site, but on google+ with my youtube friends. We figured this wasn't really any sort of evidence.
There's several problems with using this image to estimate Godzilla's size however. The main thing being is that we don't know what crushed that train underfoot. The second thing being our lack of knowing what part of the foot crushed the train. Was it just the heel, or was it at the wider part of the foot, probably near the metatarsels? There's just not enough to really deduce Godzilla's size here. It's more than likely one of the "mutos".
Notice the hole in the left one? It looks like something was trying to get in there, and that hole is much too small for Godzilla. Basing this guess off the "beak" thing I've read on Chris Picard's trailer analysis, that makes more sense than Godzilla breaking in to it.
I firmly believe that this scene is a "day after the mutos have dinner" sort of thing.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 2:37 AMConsidering this train scene is also in the concept trailer before all this mutos stuff I believe that big smashed part of the train is still Godzilla's foot. Although we don't know what part of his foot and so on I still believe this just gives a little sneek peak at his size.

BCrockett94
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 3:06 AMBut even then, there was still that other giant creature in the concept trailer, laying there.. dead. For all we know, that thing had made the imprint on the train.
You also have to remember that they did edit the train scene a bit. I just checked, there are a few minuscule differences.
But really, the train scene evidence is "circumstantial" at best when deducing Godzilla's size.

MemberBaragonDec-17-2013 3:19 AMIt might be his foot, but it could just as easily be is tail that trails behind him.

BCrockett94
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 3:22 AMRight? There's too many unknowns in this scenario to take this as evidence.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 5:30 AMAs much as I agree with all of you, I don't think it would hurt to crunch some numbers and make a prediction. It would be no closer to truth than any of the other crackpot theories out there, but i think it's worth a shot.
For the length of the depression, I found that 6 people fit within that length. If my reference was a guy, I have 34ft. If a girl, then 32. I would try and fit that as the maximum width of his tail (on the ground), and then the maximum length (or width) of his foot.
Again, I agree that this scene doesn't mean Godzilla's foot crushed the train, but I don't see why we can't try to work with what we have.

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 10:41 AMif 34 feet is the width of his tail, then he is tiny, think about it. this probably is a muto. still, it would be cool if someone did the math assuming that this is his foot.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 1:14 PMkinda thought he picked up the train and beat the monster and the people fell out

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 5:19 PMAlthough this is awesome! I am not sure if this is Godzilla. Too little is known in regards to his size. Many speculate that he is around 400 ft. Judging by the trailer, that estimation is close. I think the imprint on that train may be too small for his feet? Maybe it was another monster? Who knows.
