GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-16-2013 1:29 AMin many movies godzilla seems semi-sentient, in others he is like a simple animal ddriven by instinct, in still others he seems to have some kind of cleverness to him but acts more like a rage monster that can't control himself. for this new movie, how clever and calculating should Godzilla be? i'm imagining a creature with a cold kind of savage intelligence, something just above simple instinct. thats kinda what i saw in the G expirience leak. i thinck if hes not smart enough, hes not scary, but if he is too smart, the movie becomes silly and corny. your thoughts?

I would also like to see Godzilla express emotion, but not too much.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-16-2013 10:25 AMWell i would like to see an animalic godzilla driven by instinct, anger and pain caused by his burned skin and his origin who obliterates every monster thats upon his way.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-16-2013 10:40 PMGodzilla should show some signs of intelligence or cunning. He's definitely more than a simple raging animal, he's a force of nature with a mind. I want to see him recodnize certain things or maybe even certain people he encounters multiple times. Of course he should show some emotion as well, but most importantly I don't want to see him be guided by bird calls like the 1985 version. I always thought that was kind of stupid that birds could lure Godzila away.

MemberBaragonDec-16-2013 11:38 PMJust slightly smarter than your average animal. I like the idea of Godzilla being driven by instinct. It allows counter play and ways to fight against him or drive him away for the humans.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-16-2013 11:59 PMNot smart like King Kong, and not a mind-less brute. More so of a Tiger. Or a Crocodile. Very instinctive, yet intelligent in its own way. He is TOO DAMN BIG to recognize a humans face and go into some stupid, "Flash back" or something. Or gain a certain hatred for humans or whatever. Make it beliveable. He represents the force of nature. A hurrican, tornado, things that can't be stopped, yet so destructive. Not because it chooses to harm, or to save, but because that is its nature. Destruction. His intelligence should show when he needs to defend himself against the other monsters lurking in this story.

MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 2:41 AMI believe that Godzilla should be intelligent. Not extremely intelligent, but where Godzilla is able to problem solve to a degree. It'd be interesting if Godzilla had a trial and error approach to combat. "I'll try grabbing it and putting it in my mouth. Maybe that will work.... nope, it's too fast. Maybe if I try smacking it with my tail? Would that work?" that sort of intelligence seems likely (not with the actual words appearing in Godzilla's mind, but showing it in his behavior). Unlike Akio, I think it'd be very believable if Godzilla was able to recognize some humans, especially reoccuring humans. I'm not saying he gets a flash back scene (cough cough Godzilla vs King Ghidorah cough cough), though I'm sure not many people will live long enough for Godzilla to become familiar with them.
But still, Godzilla should be intelligent, but not like he's a rocket scientist or anything.

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeDec-17-2013 10:48 AMi was just about to say raptors when i saw that post. of course he could also thinck like a t.rex might have, one of the largest areas of their brain was devoted to not only muscle function, but strategic thought. the classic godzilla may not come from a t.rex, but the dino he does come from is quite similar.
