Think back, way back to when you saw your first Godzilla movie. What made you a fan of Godzilla initially? Was it the look of Godzilla himself? Was it the story? What made you a fan? Let us know by replying below!

Hey Guest, want to add your say?

Heck of a question! Waaaaay back in '71 (52 n counting....) KK v G came on and that was IT! Godzilla is implacable, unafraid, ALMOST invulnerable and you can knock him down but he is NEVER OUT. G98 FORGOT ALL OF THIS HENCE WHY IT WAS TERRIBLE. I am loving the resurgence we have had in the West since 2014 and am still blown away by the imagery in the film and artwork of GKOTM - just beautiful. That was MY Godzilla on screen and the music was a massive part of this also. I am not blind to faults in the film but frankly ALL films have flaws and compared to Endgame, it was a plot masterpiece! IMHO ;-) Hello to everyone out there!!! :-)

I Love Godzilla Growing Up Back in The Early 70s And Still Love Watching It And The Special Affects Today Are Awesome. My Favorite is Destroy All Monsters

The first ever Godzilla movie I watched was gojira (54) I didn't really get anything when I first watched it as a 2 year old I only knew I loved Godzilla for being huge and powerful, also having the capability of shooting his radioactive laser I remember going as far as pretending to be Godzilla and getting my first Godzilla figure, then now I understand him more and what he was made to be and how much he changed. For instance he was supposed to be the example toward the terrors of WWII, now he is a radioactive animal that'll restore balance in nature I went on as a huge Godzilla fan and watched every single Godzilla movie I love his atomic breath, and his iconic roar I listen to for hours, I was amazed the first time seeing his radioactive pulse I guarantee I will always be a g-fan for my whole life because if it taught me anything as a teen it would probably be "Godzilla exists in all of us" (Godzilla 2000 millenium). Plus when it feels like the world is against you stay strong, Godzilla did. I joined this fandom so I can talk more about my knowledge on my favorite kaiju, and see if someone else knows gojira as much as I do. I love how people make such unique, creative monsters. Godzilla forever skreeeonk.

The first Godzilla movie I can remember seeing as a kid was King Kong Vs. Godzilla back when it aired on TV a lot during the 80's. I have been hooked ever since. Not sure exactly what it was that drew me in. Before that I had loved Kong having seen the 1970's King Kong on TV, but after seeing Godzilla for the first time I knew who the true king was. I was introduced to it by my father, now I have introduced my son, so the fandom is in its third generation.

hi everyone! my name's kevin and i love me a good godzilla movie. my boyfriend got me into godzilla years ago, we are both huge fans now! king ghidorah is my favorite, but mothra is a close second :+) im here mostly to try and expand my figure/toy collection.

My passion for Godzilla started like it did for most, as a kid. I saw Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II on TV and my dad recorded it on VHS ( must have been 2001 or around that time). Not only was this my first Godzilla movie, but it's also the first movie that I consciously remember watching, so it's remained special to me ever since. Over the next few years I watched most of the other Heisei movies and a good chunk of the Showa series. And after I kind of lost track of Godzilla during my early teens, the 2014 movie completely reinvigorated my passion and I've been an active fan ever since.

Hmmmmmm I remember being about 4 years old watching the 1986 movie "one crazy summer". The character gets stuck in a Godzilla costume as he's in a prop shop and was told not to touch anything.
Hiding in the bushes to watch out for his friend at a party, some one throws a cigar in the giant Godzilla costumes mouth. The character, now panicked from suffocating, runs through the party destroying everything including a miniature city set.
All of this with cigar smoke billowing from Godzillas mouth xD
Anyways, I found the idea of a giant fire breathing lizard destroying things quite fascinating at the time and after discovering this was it's own series and not just a random lizard costume for a funny movie, (I was 4 guys just bare with me lol) I became hooked....

That's hilarious. One of the more unique stories on here.

LMAO
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

I was 9. My mum recorded Godzilla Vs Destroyah. what a weird one to start with. but i was hooked after.

Hello. I am now SC.
Would like to know how I can find a list of my posts and the replies to them?
Thanks

Grew up going to Saturday matinees. The Godzilla movies were the best! Radioactive monsters: how cool is that?!!!

My first Godzilla film was Godzilla 2000 and i want to be him and imagine im him and i love all Godzilla film's
I was 6 years old and Godzilla was at the movies. I knew the Manager as we ran the projection their. Theater was so full I sat on the floor and their he was. Lol we even got to see the Godzilla meets bambi clip. I would see Godzilla out.my big two story window in the trees from then on. He was my Hero.

Ok, Ill say it...... I watched the 1998 "zilla" movie when i was young. I later on watched Godzilla 2014 so i guess my first "real" godzilla experience was watching 2014. That movie (2014) will always be my favorite Godzilla movie, but the 1998 one will always have a special place in my heart.
"That moment
you realize your signature is a big meme"

I recently watched the 1954 Godzilla movie and I FELL in love with him I watched Godzilla 1998, Godzilla 2014 and Godzilla 2019 I’m pumped for Godzilla vs King Kong

Basically Godzilla's look when I was a kid and saw my first Godzilla movie. 2019 KOTM is the best version in my opinion because they fixed the plates on his back.
I am a dinosaur fan until the grave. Godzilla fulfilled my love of fantasy and dinosaurs forging bridged bridge to my long love of kaiju related things. Akira Ifukube's main theme gives me chills still and the Godzilla roar is iconic.

I'm a sucker for a good story, and Godzilla has tons of depth. So I thought he was cool. (I was also already a Gamera fan).

What made me a big fan of Godzilla was the fact that it's a gigantic, atomic fire-breathing megaton monster that can go thermonuclear
My introduction to the King was in 1971,was 6yrs old,I thought he was so awesome and have been a fanatic ever since.
So after watching the movie (KOTM) I was stunned out of excitement, the SFX of the movie and the CGI was incredible and also not only that of why did I joined the fandom, it's because of the fandom itself that I actually joined it. Anyway the movie is so fucking well-made I'll give it 9/10 because
-1. Everytime when there's a dark scene from the movie and everytime king Ghidorah bangs his Lightning it was really fucking bright like my eyes can't handle that type of light and also they made it too bright (that's the -1 on my score :/. )

My 5 year old son made me a fan of Godzilla haha. He watched the 2014 Godzilla and from then wanted to watch every Godzilla out there. We haven't seen all but his favorite is Shin Godzilla. He's also a fan of king Ghidorah. So that's how I got into it lol.

^That's a unique one. Love that.

Hi I'm new here, so first post. Well, I've always been a fan of creature features (among other things) and I first heard of Godzilla when I was about 5 or 6....When I first saw a teaser for the 98 remake. Anywho, I didn't see a real Godzilla film till I was 15 (Godzilla 2000) and I loved it. Now I've seen most (Still a few Showa era ones I haven't seen) Godzilla movies, with the original, as well as the 2014 reboot, Godzilla 2000, Godzilla vs Destroyah, and Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla probably being my favorites.

GODZILLA has been my icon since before I could read or write. The big fire-breathing, stomping monster meant everything to the shy child I was and still does to the adult that I've become. The Showa films of Honda, Ifukube and Tsuburaya were my gateway to Japanese culture and began my lifelong love of filmmaking. I am, in part, what I am because of him. Happy Birthday G!!! I will love you forever!

Ganimes V.8,December 10th 2019

I was introduced to Godzilla at a very early age. Around 2 months old. My parents were showing me shows for NORMAL kids (unlike me lol). I didnt like much of anything tell my dad put on the original 1954 Godzilla. I WAS GLUED To it they said. That started my Godzilla loving career!
When I first saw him kick ass in Godzilla vs megalodon think I will go watch it now
What made me a Godzilla fan was all the earlier films but also how he kept getting better on look and size and you can't keep the story line out of play either
The vastness of plots set by movies and of course the monsters, especially the ever changing design of the King of the Monsters.
I began to love the G-man when i first saw the Godzilla tv show back when i was 6. since i love him so much. A TRUE KING. That proud look in his eyes in Godzilla king of the monster's after he became king nothing can beat that.

Sorry, I just thought you would like some memes.

Watching Final Wars and Dam. Those were a good introduction to the series.
