Universal have released the first video in their new mini-series Myth Explorer:The Quest for Kong. Originally this ad campaign looked like the start of a viral marketing plan for Kong: Skull Island, but we've learned the campaign is actually meant to build hype for Universal's Skull Island: Reign of Kong. Though one is a theme park and the other is a film, the two will obviously promote the other and so, this mini-series does act to help build hype and excitement for both the attraction and the upcoming film! The first set of these episodes has been released today and can be seen below:
World-traveling adventurer Erin Ryder leads a thrilling expedition to find the truth about Skull Island—the legendary home of King Kong. Erin and her team journey across the South Indian Ocean and come face-to-face with dangers that the classic story claimed were destroyed nearly a century ago. If Skull Island still exists, does that mean Kong does too?
Visit the official website, here for more info and to track new episodes. Of course, we here at Scified will also keep you posted when new episodes make their way online. We're over a year away from Kong: Skull Island actually hitting theaters, so expect plenty more viral material to surface!
Thanks to Gormaru Island for the heads up!
