Toho has teamed with game developer StarUnion in a collaboration between the Godzilla franchise and The Ants: Underground Kingdom mobile game. The Google Play app summarizes:
"Ants VS Monsters. Enjoy the Christmas! Newly-added Feature: The Ants | GODZILLA Collaboration Unveils! Fight with Godzilla! Our Mysterious & Prosperous Ants Family is now under the attack of King Ghidorah! Let's Help Ants Awaken Mothra Now!"
The trailer features a battle between the 1999-2000 "MireGoji" design, from Godzilla 2000, taking on the the Heisei King Ghidorah from 1991's Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah. Check out the trailer below:
The Ants: Underground Kingdom is a popular mobile game in Japan which is also available to download in North America. According to the Apple Store, in order to, "survive and reproduce, wars between animals take place frequently in nature.
In The Ants: Underground Kingdom, you are the ultimate Ant Ruler to build the
Anthill, lead the Queen, grow the colony, and defend against enemies. For the
glory and prosperity of your ant empire, you must show your own strategies
resourcefulness."
The latest threat to your colony is now King Ghidorah. Joining him and Godzilla is also Mothra Leo from the Rebirth of Mothra trilogy. You can download the mobile game from the Google Play store and Apple Store.
