Toho are heavily invested in Takashi Yamazaki's next Godzilla movie, planning for an ambitious global impact. Toho president Hiroyasu Matsuoka confirmed in a recent interview that Godzilla Minus Zero is being produced with the explicit aim of targeting the global market. Unlike Godzilla Minus One, its upcoming sequel will have a much larger and more expansive release. We also recently learned that Toho will be distributing Minus Zero on their own in North America, not relying on third party distributors like they have in the past. Toho are keeping a close guard on their highly valuable slate of live action Godzilla films, realizing the appeal and influence they now have in overseas markets – and we can't blame them, Minus One really put Toho back on the map.

We’re not necessarily labeling it a ‘sequel’ or anything else just yet, but we have announced that Yamazaki is currently making the next Godzilla film. And of course, this one is just being made from the ground up with the entire world in mind as the target.
