AdminGodzillaApr-18-2022 4:21 PMI find the CG very distracting here. I'm looking forward to it nonetheless, but wish there were more practical effects at work here.
It has a very long way to go in order to beat out Ultraman: The Next, which was the last "mature", big event reboot of the franchise.

AdminGodzillaApr-18-2022 6:56 PMHinikunaGoji,
Any new entry has a chance. I like Higuchi and Anno--It certainly has the potential to be something unlike anything that has come before. But topping The Next is a tall, tall order.

MemberAnguirusApr-18-2022 9:32 PMi guess its just more creepy without minatures. but I like how the recreated shots from the original show.
....
also whats with japans recent obsession with using old sound effects for their daikaiju movies?
also really hoping that we get a shin evangelion or
shin gamera.

MemberBaragonApr-19-2022 5:42 PMThey’re trying to replicate tokusatsu with CGI.

MemberBaragonApr-19-2022 5:43 PMI would like to see a sonic boom effect when he flies. That would add a sense of realism & amplify a sense of speed.

I think there was a Evangelion movie in theaters with Shin in the title.

AdminGodzillaApr-20-2022 8:17 AMHinikunaGoji,
Anno's last Evangelion movie was called Shin Evangelion. It's known as Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time internationally.
