Legendary Pictures tackle yet another mega monster movie legend - King Kong with their new partners at Universal Studios. This new take on the iconic character is set to be a prequel to the original King Kong and will attempt to explain Kong's origins. The film, titled Kong: Skull Island begins filming this May on Kauai, Hawaii, with a projected release date of March 10th 2017. According to locals, the codename for Skull Island throughout filming on the island will be known as "Titan".

Currently, Legendary and Universal's Kong: Skull Island will star Avengers' Tom Hiddleston, Birdman's Michael Keaton and Spider-Man's J.K. Simmons; written by Godzilla (2014) scribe Max Borenstein and John Gatins.
