Fans and outlets are running wild claiming the release date for Takashi Yamazaki's next Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus Zero has been revealed. Both Google and IMDb have listed the film's release date as June 1st, 2026 – however Toho have NOT yet officially announced a date. IMDb might be a great resource for movie information, but like this website and many others out there, content is provided by users – not studio executives. Google crawls high ranking pages like IMDb and often references their data in search results. There is very little vetting done before a result is published, especially with the emphasis on A.I. search results – if the source of the reference is off, the A.I. and Google can't cross reference with an official source until it's available.

Therefore, the release date of June 1st, 2026 (as exciting as it would be), should not to be taken as fact just yet. Toho have not yet provided an official release date for Godzilla Minus Zero and they certainly wouldn't miss the opportunity to make such a highly anticipated announcement themselves.
When will Godzilla Minus Zero release?
Given the current timeline, we provided an estimate for the release date based on similar timlines and milestones tracked during Godzilla Minus One's production. We anticipate the release date window will be closer to late fall, early winter next year, not early summer. We would love to be wrong, though – the sooner we can see another Yamazaki Godzilla movie, the better!
