But my favorite thing you did was flesh out Emma and Madison more. The first twenty minutes were actually great, and i really enjoyed theyre dynamic, and its a little strange they moved away from those established characters.

I kind of think that was the point. Madison has her will taken away by her parents. Thats why if she died or was injured it would be consequences for both of them.
Plus It might fit with the environmental theme more, because its bleak. And the environment isnt going to fix itself. Which is sort of how godzilla is treated in KOTM

Yes Madison helped distract King Ghidorah but she didn't have a proactive role in KOTM like Ford Brody did in Godzilla 2014

Godzilla 2014 was the best Godzilla movie in the Monsterverse. Ford Brody is a military man, you are not going to emote much being in the service, they condition that out of you in boot camp so you won't panic in the warzone and let the enemy know your emotional state.

To be fair for half the movie Madison didnt do much, her character arc was more dissalusionment with the lies her mother told her.
Specifically Emma feels that Mark abandoned her and Madison beleives for half the movie.
Oh I remember you made a rewrite of GvK, did you do one of KoTM?
sonictigerGodzilla ForumGodzilla 2014's 8th Anniversary! May 18, 2022Reply
Xenotaris, then Madison pretty much saved everyone's butts and she got zero credit and then they pulled a half-***ed redemption for Emma.
So Mark and Emma may have been buffoons. But at least Madison was bright enough to see through Emma's BS. Not to mention Mark was an idiot for not checking on Maddie before going to Hong Kong. Terrible parenting smh.

Keep in mind that I'm going off of calculations from other articles and an official Godzilla guidebook (which might have some mistranslations and errors), so I might be completely wrong, because, in all honesty, I really suck at math.
SasquaDashGodzilla ForumHow hot is Legendary Godzilla's fire beam?May 18, 2022Reply
Considering that it was able to melt through rock with enough power to reach the center of the Earth, I would say that it's extremely hot, though I don't know the exact temperature. One guidebook stated that Godzilla's (specifically the Heisei version's) atomic breath was about 500,000 degrees Celsius or 900,032 degrees Fahrenheit, not sure exactly how accurate that is (since that's apparently over 85 times hotter than the surface of the Sun, if the articles I read are correct), but if it is, then I assume that the MonsterVerse version would be similar.

I've started noticing more social ideas in SP. Like Satomi being very tatooed, from what I know, some people get really weird about tatoos. But like nobody reacted to that so i think its normal. Idk if im reading into it too much. I just had a weird thought that maybe the names were supoosed to be representation? Idk anymore.
Im not even gonna delete this?

Well to counter your points of Mei and Yun I wanted to bring up their characterization. In the first episode we do see what roles they will play, Yun is much the technological, but he gets very invloved in going out and paranormal investigations, Heck he even tries to climb over a fence. Mei is a lot more reserved as a character and tends to less active. Also thats ignoring what each provides in context. The reason Yun goes out against monsters is because the Tech leads him there, he uses to tech to fight monsters and improves it as he goes along. And though Mei studies fake animals, but her theories are more focused and zeroing in on archetype. She does not directly ever interact with the OD or super calculator, just figures out how each works, which is her study. She just needs the data. This is why they work together
As for the Rodan Labelings. Idk. I tried rewatching it in english, hated the voice acting and went back to japanese, So idk what was lost in translation. (Assuming you watched in english, if not, then could you be a little more specific)
And Pero 2, its humor, if it lands it or if it doesnt.
Honestly a lot of complaints about the show just make me think its just not really something that you would enjoy overall. The story telling is just not something that you enjoy. Im fine with it because I just enjoy it. While we could argue about whether when reiwa leave something unexplained to come back to later, or when marvel does it literally all the time, which is cool and which is just blatantly stupid and cashgrabby. It would just be a battle of semantics.

I liked Ford Brody, he was one of my favorite MV characters. Yeah, he rejoined the military to save his family. He was leagues better then the Russels who proactively were trying to destroy the world through their bafoonery (Petty revenge against Godzilla or reviving/freeing King Ghidorah)

There were certain moments where the writing for some of the characters was somewhat inconsistent. At the beginning of the series Mei is established as someone who researches "impossible creatures" and Yun is established as someone who works with technology, however later Yun is the one who goes after the monsters, while Mei spends most of the time dealing with technology (even though, logically, it should be the other way around), there's even a moment where Mei comes face to face with one of the dead Rodans and doesn't really seem all that interested, even though it proves her research right. Another example is that they establish that Pelops II's personality is unique and based around Mei's computer, however when they upload Pelops II to other devices, its personality stays exactly the same and when that fact is actually brought up by Mei, it's completely brushed aside in an "eh who cares" kind of way. There's also moments where characters will be introduced and then dropped completely, which not only gets confusing, but ends up making some of them feel pointless.
The series keeps going back and forth on explanations for the monsters, they start off referring to the Rodans as a surviving species of pterosaur, however they then proceed to change the explanations for them and the other monsters, referring to them as mutations that resulted from humanity’s effect on nature, deep sea creatures, extraterrestrial creatures, and interdimensional creatures. There’s even moments where they contradict themselves in the same scene, there’s a moment where some of the characters are talking about the monsters, stating that they come from the ocean, but then immediately start mentioning that they’re aliens from another world. It got to the point where I actually stated out loud “Pick an origin and stick with it”, before they eventually stuck with the idea of them being from another dimension. I get them trying to uncover the mystery behind these creatures, however they didn’t need to take that long to explain their origins. They spent so much time trying to over complicate the science that it almost felt like they were trying to pad out the runtime with it. It pretty much took the series 5 hours for them to introduce an idea that Pacific Rim was able to do in 10 minutes. There were also moments where they mention that the red mist comes from the monsters but others where they mention that the monsters come from the red mist. I’m not sure if that was an error in the script or a mistranslation, but it came off as a really big contradiction.
Also, despite the series having a huge emphasis at explaining things, there’s moments that they don’t explain things that they should. One example is the scene where they kill the Megalon/Kumonga bugs. Suddenly the bugs’ blood comes to life, becoming Hedorah-like creatures that “rebuild” the bugs, bringing them back to life. A similar thing happens when Godzilla Terrestris’ blood comes to life and protects it from being hit by missiles. Aside from some fan theories, these moments are never explained. Another example is when the giant shadowy Rodan appears and tries to attack Godzilla, only for Godzilla to immediately blast it out of the air. It's never explained where it came from or what relation it has with the other Rodans and after it appears it’s never mentioned again, making it’s entire appearance kind of pointless despite the fact that they make a big deal about it when it first shows up. I remember thinking “what the hell just happened?” and waiting for an explanation for these moments, but it never came.
These were only a couple of the inconsistencies that I could immediately think of.

As someone who can't stand math and most forms of science, I actually found the kaiju slant on it all to be a fascinating way to draw me into it. Like a big puzzle to figure out.
I enjoy it when genres look for new ways to be watched. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but Singular Point was a slam dunk.

Personally I felt that Singular Point's constant focus on physics got really confusing and hard to follow after a while. Inserting real life science into a Kaiju story can be interesting, but I feel like the series put too much emphasis on it. As someone who has a lot of trouble with subjects like math and physics, it got to the point where it took me out of the story and it ended up feeling like I was watching an overly long college physics lecture, rather than an entertaining Kaiju show. There's also a couple of inconsistencies with the story and characters, as well as moments where it felt like the show kept contradicting itself and not explaining certain things that it should've, which kind of bugged me.

The reason that Ford joins up with the military was due to the fact that Godzilla, the Male MUTO and the military were heading toward San Francisco, where his family was. So, in his mind, joining up with the military would be the fastest way for him to get back to his family. He also wanted to help in the fight against the MUTO so that he could not only protect he family he had left (as that MUTO already killed both of his parents), but to also to help prevent other families from being torn apart by them as well, which is why he was so focused on reuniting the kid he saved on the monorail with his parents and was relived when the kid found his parents.

I honestly thought Ford was realisticly acted. Maybe a little bit more emotion could have been helpful. The only moments I think were weird is him joining the military against the mutos after Honolulu. But other than that really eveuthing that happens makes sense. He also is not the most proactive protagonist in MV

I think some of the issues with some of characters, like Ford, was due to some of the performances, rather than the writing. The Novelization for 2014 gives a lot more insight on Ford's character and motivation, which weren't as prominent in the movie due to Aaron Taylor-Johnson's more held back performance.
I would argue that Joe Brody is a pretty underappreciated character.
