New Replies (Page 704)
We JUST went over this a week ago or so. Nobody is saying that we believe every word of what TheTruthIsOutThere is saying. Nobody is saying that we believe this person is absolutely an inside source.
What we ARE saying is that what this person has to say is interesting, and we want to speculate on it because it's INTERESTING to do so, and there's no harm in doing so. If the person turns out to be right, great! If not, no harm done, nobody was actually lapping it up like a bunch of sheeple like some people exaggerate the situation to be.
Anyone who doesn't want to be a part of these discussions, I ask you to kindly leave the rest of us who DO want to be a part of these discussions be.
By all means have fun speculating, I'm not saying that is a bad thing.
What I am saying is to not speculate about what this guy says because he has no evidence to back it up and yet he still tells us to believe him.
Anybody can make discussions on the forums, Just go create a discussion called "Mothra Speculation" or "Rodan Speculation" and read some very interesting ideas instead of eating up all the falseness this guy says.
Can we just NOT do this again?
I'd prefer if we just have fun. On said note, I do wonder if practical effects would/could/should be used for Mothra.
But what do you know?????
You say you know what Mothra looks like, then you say you know the script. And if you truly know these things why don't you reveal them instead of posting very cryptic comments like "Be excited, ok?"
What I take from this discussion is that you don't know anything about the movie and you are just either trolling or trying to hype people up.
You can reply by saying your "very reliable" because you said that practical effects will be used. But as G-man has already said Tom Woodruff Jr was listed on IMDB ages before you said practical effects would be used. Anybody who knows his works could have easily guessed practical effects would be used...
I obviously didn't mean I've already seen the movie, but the script is cool and I have faith in a friend so I know what I know what I know. I can't sell anyone out and I don't intend to.
The guys know the faults of the first one, and they don't want to repeat them. Be excited, ok?
Gman123,
Though extinct, the Venusians seemed quite friendly.
Cool, so JUST like The Incredible Hulk, the red-headed stepchild of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
I'm cool with that comparison.
Don't worry, I'M still able to have fun with this, TheTruthIsOutThere. You just keep giving us fun things to nibble on.
If he does, that won't be fun for Humanity's machines.
Unless their alien allies EMP-proofed their stuff, that is :P
Also, the timeline was revealed months ago, but I still find it funny that this is one of the first times in the history of the franchise where the aliens AREN'T the bad guys, as far as we can tell.
You never know, guys. It could be tweaked in the final release.
Hang on just a sec....
First you imply that the information you have received from your friend is a mothra model, Sure, maybe I can buy that.
But then you go on to make quotes like "Don't worry folks, Godzilla will be incredible" As if you have already seen the movie, and its only 2 weeks into filming.
Even if what all you say is true, your not doing yourself any favours by posting vague comments that go against what you have already said.
You choose to believe what you want to believe~
I've had a great track record already, whether or not you believe what I say is irrelevant to me
Those who do are having fun watching each thing come true, I dont need ESP to leak something
Godzilla: Monster Planet has been added to the database.
He's not inclined to reveal specifics because he doesn't know them. With Kong: Skull Island released this year and Godzilla 2 filming odds are incredibly high that something Monsterverse related will be at Comic Con. Him being vague means he can act like he's an insider by making one of the safest possible bets, if he makes a specific guess and it's wrong he's outed and he can't keep up the trolling, but if he keeps up like this he can say "told you so" if it's anything from a logo to a poster to a trailer. This is the same nonsense tactic that the phonies who pretend to be psychic use.
The existence of multiple nuclear bombings was never in question. They even say in the movie "Those nuclear tests in the South Pacific? Not tests." Legendary's Instagram reiterating this doesn't do anything to strengthen the continuity of Awakening. I'm not saying Awakening is "definitely 100% not canon and never was," I'm merely making the point that Legendary has been hesitant to directly reference it and its writing had little direct connection with production on Godzilla. I think Legendary will simply pick and choose what elements from Awakening apply to the rest of the MonsterVerse canon, and am not expecting it to ever be directly referenced.
I don't get what the big deal is anyway, it was a tie-in for the film published long before the full direction of the MonsterVerse was determined. Having filmmakers adhere strictly to something like that when making further films seems unnecessary. Plus I personally just did not care for the comic.
Birth of Kong, by contrast, is being published after Kong: Skull Island has come out and the writers are being very careful and deliberate with making it fit in nicely with the rest of the MonsterVerse now that they know where it's heading. Plus there is a completely explicit reference to its events in the timeline.
This is interesting. I like how there's metallic material in Godzillas skin, a fun way to explain Godzillas tough hide. I wonder if this means that Godzilla has an electromagnetic pulse as well.
I just wish the roar was a bit deeper. Same issue I had with Shin Godzilla. Don't get me wrong I love the Showa roar, but it just doesn't seem to fit here. Other than that I'm on board and it's a trivial criticism in the end.
Why? The millennium Godzilla's roar was practically the showa's roar but longer, and the GMK Godzilla used it. Plus killing tons of people doesn't necessarily mean brutal. G 14 killed tons of people and he didn't mean it. Do you have a link to this timeline? I feel like I'm missing out on some crucial details.
Dang, flapping her wings just does that. G's gonna have to smash them things to stop that trash. Or will G and Mothra even fight?
Guess I'm the only one that's kind of disappointed. The trailer itself is fine - I just don't agree with the Showa-style roar that's being used for the Anime Godzilla. After reading about how this Godzilla is described to be in the timeline, he's a really dark and brutal Godzilla, but after hearing the roar that's being used for it, it just doesn't fit it in my opinion. I'm definitely hyped for the movie, but I just really hope that a different roar is going to be used.
G's gonna be pretty pissed, which is why I bet he'll start destroying crap like Old school G.
Thought it was Rodan, he does a lot of wind damage so it would explained all the vehicles thrown about
Really, really awesome, can't wait for this movie. I love how crazy the action looks and how big G is. Also very happy that he has his classic showa roar.
What King of the Monsters said, although this is very interesting indeed. I'm just happy to be getting so many Godzilla movies.
We know it's not in the same continuity as Shin Godzilla, as the timeline reveals Godzilla did not appear for the first time until the year 2030. Though the concept of other creatures being spawned by Godzilla seems to be carried over into this production.
It WAS Mothra, a nasty after effect of her flapping her wings
The Servums sure do look badass
Nah, I think that's Mothra. Poison gas seems like a natural evolution of poisonous scale powder.
This is interesting.
So we just gonna not talk about the 1952 tagline?

I'm sensing some Hedorah. Anyone else sensing some Hedorah?
It even talks about how the "smog" was a giant wave of pollution that washed over the city.
Obviously, this doesn't take place in the same continuity as Shin Godzilla, but the writers may be taking some ideas from that film's production that went unused.
Isla de Mona....The Doll's Island. Are we sure it has to do with Rodan and not Mothra?
I'l concede that it's clear they know about it and will probably use it where it is convenient to fill in gaps that were unknown. Because of how hard they're avoiding outright referencing certain big parts of the book I don't know if I'll ever throw it in with the full canon as things are right now.
Finally! It may be short but at least we have a teaser trailer. I can't wait for more!
Normally, I want to be the Kaiju destroying the city or, in some cases, the Mecha Unit defending it. But I think I'd be willing to play the human in a game that has Godzilla, Gamera, Eva Unit-01, King Ghidorah, Ultraman (though I know little about Ultraman. I've been meaning to watch the series...one of them at least.) and so many other Kaiju and Robots. This is going to be cool.
I'm pretty sure that was a small gyaos at the end...
For me it was when the Godzilla 2014 trailers started airing. I was interested and began reading about Godzilla so I knew the basics by the time the movie came out. I kept reading about the monsters and movies on Wikizilla until I got a set of some of the Showa movies Christmas 2014, along with the S.H. MonsterArts Gigan and Destoroyah.
