Thanks to those who helped clear up the "frozen in ice" thing :)
I guess I don't get what the hang up some seem to have about King Ghidorah being a space monster is. I'm guessing it just comes down to the usual, admittedly odd double-standard I see a lot in the Godzilla fandom about whether or not things are "realistic", which never really makes much sense to me, but I think part of this is a generational thing with younger fans.
It seems like no one ever gets caught up on the idea of these giant monsters being many hundreds of feet tall and supposedly weighing many tens of thousands of tons, thereby breaking and defying all known laws of physics and biology right from the get-go. Even no less an authority than Neil deGrasse Tyson called out how "unrealistic" this is, but it seems that all fans can accept this. But then they'll obsess over other aspects of the monsters, like their origins, and argue about whether or not they're "realistic". I don't get it, but again I think it's more of a generational thing.
I'm not trying to pick on anyone here, and we all have our opinions. And compared to so many G-fans nowadays, I'm an old lady. But I've just never been able to wrap my head around this aspect of the Godzilla fandom.
And it is worth noting of course that we're still just speculating if King Ghidorah will really be an extraterrestrial here. That was his classic origin in the Godzilla series of course, but even later movies such as Godzilla vs King Ghidorah and GMK changed Ghidorah's origin, so there's certainly precedent even from the Japanese films for KG having different origins and backgrounds.
Well, I'm guessing it's on Isla de Mona.
I like the idea of Rodan having a volcanic origin once again. Rodan is such a great, classic monster from the series, and the original 1956 Rodan still really holds up great over time. But it seems like Rodan really kind of got overlooked over the years as the series went along, certainly moreso when compared to some other big-name kaiju like King Ghidorah, Mothra, or Mechagodzilla. Rodan had an okay supporting role back in the 1993 Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla, which was quite a while ago now, but really all he did in that movie was get his ass kicked first by Godzilla, and then by Mechagodzilla. He had a couple nice moments in Godzilla Final Wars, but of course he was just a face in the crowd there. I do miss the old days of Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster and Monster Zero, and it would be great to see the return of a more "classic" Rodan, if that makes sense!
Also, I really do hope in this new movie that both Rodan and Mothra aren't just enemies of Godzilla as well. They can maybe butt heads at first, that's fine, but I really would like to see all three team up against King Ghidorah. Maybe that would be too "predictable" or seem like too much of a direct copy of Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster for some, but that's another thing that for me was fun in the classic Showa movies, was that Godzilla actually had some monster allies and friends, and wouldn't always just fight everyone. It seems like that got lost along the way in the Godzilla series, too. Outside of Godzilla receiving some brief assistance from Mothra in Godzilla Final Wars, I can't think of a single other instance during the entire Heisei or Millennium-era movies where Godzilla seemed to have any allies at all. Especially now in this MonsterVerse, this is actually the most heroic take on Godzilla we've seen in a very long time, so I think it would work really well to bring back the idea of Godzilla having some kaiju allies.
Since you've called me out, I might as well capitalize on it. You go around here acting as if you have higher authority than others and even have told people not to partake in these conversations.
I can't help it that my comments come off as smug, but my point is, legendary themselves have proved that TheTruthIsOutThere is a fraud. You can defend them all you want. Just do me a favor, gman123. Don't ever call me out like this again.
You are now trying to start trouble here. Except that TheTruthIsOutThere was wrong.
*Smacks hand against head* Not very respectful or nice to call me out like this, wouldn't you agree?
Did they say anything about where the volcano would be?
So we're cool now? ok cool.
That's fine. Just don't go in thinking that him being a pure space monster is any less worthy of suspension-of-disbelief than your own ideas.
If some of you lot hadn't gone about trying to say the guy was a guaranteed phony or a troll or whatever else, as well as mocking him/her every so often, I wouldn't have tried to defend the person.
I went over this with Huge-Ben recently in PM. I may be generalizing from a select few to the decriers overall, but those few don't make it easy to see their side as reasonable if they can't even have the courtesy to be genuinely respectful of the person, false rumours or not.
Remember that, next time. I will defend to the death such people if others like those I've described continue to approach such matters the way they do. This is really something that ought to be done in PM, but it needs to be said. I do not care if you guys question the person, but do so with respect and with an open mind.
*sigh*
Alright whatever makes you guys happy but I'm not going to expect him to be a space monster until we get more information or a confirmation from Micheal Dougherty.
None of the comments did anything but ask for more grounded "leaks" or some other evidence. Typically if someone says they have info that literally no one outside a very select group of individuals have you try to find some way of confirmation.
^ Yep, works for me
Now, see, THAT'S grounds for suspicions.
I'm not gonna say that you guys were right, because your approach to this whole debacle has been all wrong in my eyes, but I will say that your caution is appreciated.
Don't let this go to your heads. By no means do I condone the string of comments you and your lot have made.
I can. He's from space and then came to Earth. End of story.
TheGman123
I did PM him. He started calling me kid and saying I was harassing him. Then he pm'd me every time one of his vague details were "confirmed". He was harassing me.
Personally, the only way Ghidorah can work as a space monster(Sort of) in the MonsterVerse is to make him an earth monster that migrated to space millions of years ago and millions of years later he decided to return to earth to see what has changed in the planet but he crashes(dunno how) in Antarctica and remained frozen there for thousands of years.
That's the only way Ghidorah can work as a space monster(Sort of) in this grounded movie universe, I honestly couldn't think of any other way without making it too far-fetch.
In America, August 1st, I believe. In Australia, July 19th (Lucky for me). I preordered it.
I'm gonna get the six inch Godzilla, maybe Servum. Maybe.
I know I've asked this before, but it's been a few months: any news regarding any new releases on Blu-Ray for some of the yet to be released Godzilla titles? I was hoping we'd hear about a new release or two by this summer, but perhaps there won't be any releases until Godzilla 2 comes out, so as to ride the hype train.
After being able to read the timeline, I do think Dance seems the most likely actor to be playing the Jonah character. Still, it's hard to deny he would be a good choice to represent an older Tom Hiddleston.
Hi fellow members, I was able get a few more of the texts mainly of 1995 and 1999 but I am still missing 1944. I put them into a google doc this way I don't clog up the thread with one long post.

Exactly. The guy paused the first Monarch timeline video in spots, gathered what information could be from each frame, then came back here acting as if him looking a little closer at public information was "top secret insider info" from a guy who's friend saw a Mothra model, I mean read the script, I mean may be works for Legendary, I mean whatever his story has changed to now.
Not only has he only used public info and safe guesses like a sci film might be at Comic Con, a lot of his stiff has been flat out wrong because some of the first timeline video frames can't be fully read. That's why he guessed Siberia for Ghidorah, but in fact Ghidorah is in Antarctica.
I don't think you understand what speculation is...
He's been proven a fraud several times over now, his "information" can be safely thrown in the garbage as it holds as much weight as a random fan on Facebook makimg claims.
Please, make King Ghidorah terrifying. Please, make him powerful. Please, make him merciless.
TBH I'm kinda with Huge Ben and them now, there's a lot of evidence pointing against the guy. But I'm not just gonna throw him out though, he's another person for speculation.
If y'all are this hellbent, just PM the guy and get it over with.
Unless there are 2 mothras in the timeline, he's also been wrong on Mothra in 1952 as Mothra is only discovered in 2009 in a cocoon. A monster caused the smog of London in 1952 by its wings, but if it were an adult Mothra, how can a moth suddenly go into a cocoon structure when a caterpillar does that? Rodan is in 1991, Mothra in 2009. Something else might be out there with wings.
The individual also said that King Ghidorah was in Siberia. As Fanzilla pointed out in another thread, Legendary confirmed he's in the Antarctic. I'd like to know where TheTruthIsOutThere is now to back up their claims now.

You do realize that they call King Ghidorah Monster Zero in the film right?
Here's a few quotes from the film.
"What is monster zero?"
"The demon of our galaxy. I will show you monster zero."
"Hey look. It's king ghidorah."
"Yes. On earth, you gave this terrifying monster the name of ghidorah. Everything here is numbered, the monster is zero."
TherizinoRex, Daughtery has tweeted many things about ice and stuff. It'd be easy to assume that that's where ghidorah was coming from.
Plus, that's another thing people on other forums had already speculated before thetruthisoutthere posted it.
Since the kong skull island twitter posted a video with the timeline a week before the thread was made him guessing the year means absolutely nothing.
You can pause at the beginning and see things like the dates and some of the pictures. You can clearly see a mountain next to 1991, therefore all that was left to do was guess that was Rodan(which (s)he did)
The fact is most of the things TheTruthIsOutThere posted were vague things he could spin in multiple directions and the few specifics they gave are now coming back false. On top of what GoWhaleTours pointed out long ago that there were also posted on Tohokingdom.
Funny how now that this is all coming up the user hasn't shown back up. Probably thought they could keep this little game going for a little longer before they got completely revealed, but given they got almost a full month they probably got enough laughs anyway.
He was right about the year where Rodan was found and Ghidorah being currently frozen. He just got the locations wrong.

I think its just a reference to Monster Zero movie. But the movie is coming out in 2 years so I guess we have to wait and see.
True, but he DID have the correct year but that could have been merely a lucky guess. I think he's more or less grasping at straws. I think he's full of it. I'd imagine that if practical effects are being used, we'll get a leak sooner or later.
I'm gonna say.. space origins for Ghidorah. The monster Zero reference in a huge indicator. A meteor crashes on earth in the past.. a life form with in the meteor begins to grow.. it is Ghidorah.. and as time passes.. he gets real huge.. fights an ancient Godzilla.. gets wounded.. flies away.. crashes in the Antarctic... goes to sleep.. gets frozen and covered by ice over time.. and government scientists.. in the future want to get a sample of it's DNA.. and somehow manage to wake him up. And it's Ghidorah :the three headed monster.. remake.. complete with all the original players. And I'm totally good with that. At least.. that's my theory.
The idea of Ghidorah being a space monster who is found frozen makes sense in this universe. It also makes sense for someone to classify it as "Monster 0" if they analyze it and find out that it is far older than any other monster they have come across so far, thus giving it the number 0.
With Godzilla, in this universe, working as a protector it makes even more sense to have Ghidorah have outer space origins as then it will make it simple why they fight.
You know, a fellow user from another forum pointed this out to me, but King Ghidorah's design could be linked to Satan.
In Dante's Inferno, Satan is described like King Ghidorah plenty of times. So, mythological origins that have King Ghidorah as the origin of Satan in the Judeo-Christian faiths? I'd be down with it!
Hecl, another user on the same forum had the idea that he could be further linked by way of Lucifer, being a fallen angel a.k.a. descending from the Heavens a.k.a. SPACE DRAGON!
You know, the whole "1954 retcon" isn't actually a retcon. The special features on the DVD release of Godzilla (2014) already implied that Godzilla was responsible for several ships being attacked and sunk in the pacific during the 1940s.
The 1943 U.S.S. Lawton incident is just a more specific part of that. The line about "awakening in 1954" is mostly for the drama, and can actually be quite mundanely explained, as I already have. They woke him up in 1954 after losing track of him, and woke him up trying to find him after he went back to sleep.
No, he hasn't been correct about the origins. He said RODAN comes from my. Pinatubo but the timeline states he's from isla de Mona.
I'm betting Charles Dance is playing the bounty hunter Jonah from the timeline.
