You know, if King Ghidorah retains his origins as an alien organism (which, going by this Tweet from Mike Dougherty, looks probable!), I'd say more than one pair of eyes per head might be cool.
Nothing too outlandish, maybe a second pair of eyes, just to sell the point that, yeah, this thing is an ALIEN.
I'm fine with the classic look as long as his necks and tails are extremely powerful. Each one being like a giant Python. I'd be fine with seeing a scene like in the 90's version. Hell, Ghidorah could even throw big G with them.
But I still think this would be an epic modern update.
I imagine in a scene in which he would fully extend his wings as an intimidation factor. That would be freakin epic.
I'm still waiting on a fan design that doesn't look like garbage. Surely it can't be this hard to update King Ghidorah's already iconic look...
Both of those are sick! I hated the armed wings at first, but they just make sense to have and makes this Ghidorah more original. I hope he uses them as a battering ram on big G
I always felt a one day only release would not be enough in the UK. I hope as many fans as possible get t see it, God willing. Seeing Shin Godzilla here in the theater was one of the best experiences I've had as a fan. Even with the Blu-ray/DVD release, I would love to see it again in a theater.
Hope you are listening, American Cinemateque.
Oooohh, I like this one too! Looks demonic!

That looks cool but I like this one better because reason.
I imagine we will get something close to this, with longer necks. I like the idea of arm like appendages on the wings as long as he doesn't start walking on them
I'd be fine with blue or red lightning that'd be pretty sick to me
THE HOOD - This was yet another extremely engaging and interesting addition to your ongoing story! Thank you ever so much for taking the time to create this and share it with us! :)
There's actually a lot of influence from multiple past Godzilla iterations. The general stature is a bit of a fusion between the Legendary and Heisei iterations, whilst the skin texture and facial features seem to resemble the Shin design the most.
^^^I agree too.
In the new pictures the design looks less like the 2014 design.
Either way, seeing this kind of craftsmanship really makes me feel at home. Just seeing these artists pour their hearts and souls into this tradition is a blessing to witness. Their art form that is Tokusatsu is such a wonderful skill. I absolutely love seeing this kind of work portrayed into this franchise, and I sincerely hope they continue with more live action practical effects.
I still think the back scutes look kinda weird.
I personally I think each head should be unique, like have the middle head shoot out lightning bolts and have the other 2 shoot out fire and ice. I personally think it would be perfect!
My goodness, I've never even thought of that, BUT I NEED THIS NOW!
That would be an AWESOME way to amp up King Ghidorah as a threat. Have him not only be powerful, but adaptable too!
I have a similar fantasy. I would like Ghidorah to fire his breath out of all 3 heads at all 3 opponents at the same time, in different directions. Like Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra are all trying to attack Ghidorah from 3 different positions and Ghidorah bows all three heads to summon up the power and then when he has enough energy built up he extends all 3 heads all at each opponent and strikes them all dead on and they all fall. something to that nature.
^Oh, damn. I need to step up my game. Thank you for clearing that up. Ya think you know your stuff and then this gets dropped on ya. I still stand by my statement. An extra 8 meters we probably wont notice on ghidorah, so they must go higher than 150 meters. If I were a gambling man I would put money on it.
It was announced today that Shin Godzilla is indeed getting extended play in the UK due to the incredible demand and number of tickets sold.
Here's a review of Shin Godzilla from a UK website after its screening yesterday. I hope they get addition screenings.
Really.
Actually guys, the All Toho Kaiju encyclopedia book from Toho actually confirms heisei ghidorah was 140 meters. This book is the most up to date book. So, I look for Legendary ghidorah to be 148+ meters.
I'll be happy if we get a scene where Godzilla and King Ghidorah are in a power struggle, and KG uses his left and right heads like hands to grapple with Godzilla's actual hands.
I always LOVED imagining that kind of scene ever since I first saw the two duking it out, and am sad that no one has ever thought to do that in a film thus far.
I would hope not, I think they wanted Keiser Ghidorah to look different and unique. They had a great idea just didn't execute like they should have. still a fun villain.
Im sure we will all be pretty happy with whatever they give Ghidorah. We all kind of accepted Godzilla's new look after it grew on us. It took me awhile to get over his feet! I thought they looked soo ridiculous! (still kind of do)
so I hope after we see the movie we can forgive what we hate and hopefull have a better time the last Godzilla movie back in 2014.
Well said. Im sure there are thousands of other fans writing as well about the same issues. I believe your statement resonates better than the way other irritated fans would voice their complaints.
I just know they are going to make him ridiculously big. 150 meters isn't anything new for King Ghidorah. He has been that size before. Legendary likes to give us depth of how big a monster is. Pacific Rim, G14, K:SI, they loved bragging how gigantic these monsters are. Im guessing they are going to try to feature Ghidorah as the biggest, baddest thing to ever show on screen. He is going to tower over Godzilla and other structures. I just see a pattern in their films.
cant wait for more pictures of the sets. Other than one of the monsters coming through, this isn't giving me much to satisfy my hunger for more info.
I don't personally care if they give Ghidorah a wyvern like look. Can't possibly looks worse than Keiser did
Why don't we have both?
Biped= Combat, walking and to looked bigger
Quadruped= Charging(Like he would use his wing arms for extra speed) and landing
I think no matter what, Ghidorah should look pretty menacing.
He has THREE heads. Might as well use them.
No need for wing-arms when he has two perfectly good biting head-hands. Keizer Ghidorah displayed this well in his fight with Godzilla in Godzilla: Final Wars.
Now, I'm all for making those wings pretty massive, just not in a wyvern fasion. Have them be folded in, only to be spread out in a dramatic scene to showcase how intimidating this dragon is.
I think the wing walker look is sick! I feel that it makes him far more deadly. It gives Ghidorah a chance to actually fight face to face combat instead of just poking big G with his stringy heads and dancing around like the old days. Just imagine when he opens them up all the way how big and epic he will truly look! He's actually standing pretty upright there too, so maybe they can find the right balance to the design.
I used I live in Norcross, GA this is cool
