KaijuBuildzGodzilla Forumhow to include Gigan into the monsterverse

Thank you so much. If the monsterverse ever has some sort of Destroy all monsters movie, I am hoping that it will be a war between earth kaiju and cyborg kaiju (off course Gigan would be part of this). Along with Gigan could be Mechagodzilla, Mecha-King Ghidorah and some new cyborg kaiju (Mecha-Mothra or Mecha-Skullcrawler?)

Well, it has never been confirmed that the monsterverse is going to end, but yeah hope it continues as well.

also, I feel my King Caesar's story would work better in the new Toho cinematic universe than in the Monsterverse. Fortunately, this topic could fit with the TCU as well :)

I like the little refrence you put to Godzilla '98, and it's funny you did, because I just watched Godzilla 1998 recently, and heard one of the scientists mistake Godzilla for an overgrown Allosaurus.

Small world, huh?

KaijuWorld you are a genius. I said to a friend of mine that the MUTO (Specifically the Male) Looks like Gigan but he said "No Way." However, I do like the idea of the aliens (Probably the Xiliens) taking the MUTOs corpse and reviving him (almost like with King Ghidorah in the heisei era where he is turned into Mecha-King Ghidorah)

I agree we need a good modern Kaiju game. the 2014/2015 Godzilla game was a let-down for me because It's only 1 player. Alex Merdich's Daikaiju Battle Royale is fun, but it gets boring after a while and playing 2 player is hard. I think I'll make a post about a modern Kaiju game.

I like the storyline! it's a great storyline, but it's sad that Godzilla V Kong is going to be the last Monsterverse movie. Hopefully Toho will like the movies so much that they'll renew Legendary's licence for a few more years so they can make more movies.

All the facts so far seem to heavily imply that Ghidorah is some kind of extraterrestrial origin, much like the Showa and now Anime incarnations.

Plus, with a space origin, the space race could easily be used as a backdrop for the classic "old B-roll conspiracy footage" intro that has become a staple of the Monsterverse.

EmptyH: Where did anyone say they are "proving" this as verified fact? We are all just speculating. This is no "shaky ground" when we are not proving a fact.

So no offense, but you really seem to have problems with reading comprehension there...

Considering the Book of Revelation is a giant metaphor burrito wrapped in a metaphor blanket wrapped in a metaphor house, using it as proof of anything is the shakiest of grounds to make any proclamations.

If you do want to take that passage literally, it honestly doesn't turn out that bad for us. It's just a bunch of weird looking locusts that will torture but not kill us.

Not saying he isn't an alien. Just saying it doesn't prove anything.

Dougherty seems to confirm the alien origin of Ghidirah, look at his quote of the Ghidorah poster, taken from the Bible:

“They have as king over them, the angel of the Abyss. A star fallen from heaven to earth, he opened the shaft of the bottomless pit, and from the shaft rose smoke like that of a great furnace, and the sun and the air were darkened...”

A star fallen from heaven to earth, yup, that's pretty clear indication that Ghidorah came from space and fell to Earth. My theory is that he was probably beaten before by Godzilla in prehistoric times and ended up frozen until now.

Oh, awesome! I just love that shot of UGoji and I wish there were more like it, shots where he looks extremely predatory and saurian. Thanks so much!

Okay, very funny, Gman with a small "m".

It's not a shot from the movie, it's a production photo taken by an on-set photographer for publicity. (The fact you can see the bare, plywood set under Godzilla's foot is a giveaway. Effects crews normally cover that up better.)

This was the first color image of Godzilla from the film--released July 1st, 2004 in an unspecified Japanese newspaper. The article confirmed this was when Godzilla was charging at Anguirus.

(The first image of Godzilla was a black & white photo from another newspaper.)

Wow, thank you! That is just incredibly satisfying to hear, somehow. Please do keep me updated on anything you find, and I'll be sure to do the same once the book arrives. I really appreciate your help!

I actually have another question; feel free to ignore it if I'm draining your time too much, you've already been an incredible help. I was wondering where this shot of FinalGoji is from in the movie:

Someone asked about it on reddit and I do agree with them when they say it just looks incredibly good on-screen when Godzilla's tail is above the ground like a real dinosaur's. I also really love that UGoji is amortal and has prominent lips like every other Goji that cover his teeth completely like human lips except when he talks and tells and his whole body including his teeth and eyes and claws and talons and tail and ears is one platonic constant and form and unbreakable and also instantly regenerates without costing anythingmade from nothing and UGoji's arms and legs are so much more circular and harder and much more muscular and longer than human length and are infinitely fast to be instantaneous and omnipresent on top of being actually omnipresent and that his dorsal plates/osteoderms are indestructible and regenerate instantly and are permanently part of UGoji and that they're flat or little bumps and don't light up or glow at all when UGoji uses any of his breath variations and upgrades and shapes and variations that cover the entire EM spectrum without losing damage or his pulses or melee pulses and magnetism and telekinesis and space flight and he can breathe and survive in the vacuum of space and he doesn't need to breathe anything at all and doesn't need any sustenance etc.. I also like how UGoji's shoulders are the same width as his hips and I like how UGoji is amortal and omnipotent and omniscient and omnipresent and uses his omnipotent indestructible and amortal body to effortlessly and weightlessly and masslessly flick KGhidorah into space at FTL INSTANTANEOUSLY UNLIMITED SPEEDS and out of orbit from the ground and then instantaneously eraseabsorbs KGhidorah with his tail SPIKESTAB STRIKEDS absorberase tail spikestab and/or stretchy fingertailsspikestab AND FINGERNAILSTAILSPIKESTAB and/or his breath or nose and/or a thought or any part of his body or any thing or idea or air or gases or void airey around him or by just thinking it with his indestructible and omnipresent and omnipotent and omniscient hip brain  and omnipresent and omnipotent and omniscient and indestructible skeleton and jaw and joints and body and cartilage and small flat osteoderms and omnipresent and omnipotent and omniscient and indestructible absorberase tail stabbing him into himself and nothingness but oneness with UGoji simultaneously

I rewatched all of Goji's daytime scenes in the movie several times looking for this moment, but it doesn't seem like this made it into the final cut. I assume it's a deleted scene or from a book or trailer etc.?

I clearly need to buy a bigger house or make a huge addition, because there is just not enough wall space for all these glorious posters yet.

On another note though?  Pay attention, filmmakers of the future, THIS is how you reinterpret classic designs, you tweak, you modernize, but you pay deep respects to the source and it won't steer you wrong.  It's a little late but someone can feel free to quote me to Michael Bay.

TheGMan123: Yeah, although the is very cryptic hint.

Ghdiorah's Antarctic location is another hint. Being frozen in ice is a homage to the Thing. And the Thing was of course an evil alien planning to take over the world.

I spoke with some friends at Wikizilla--Apparently the blurb about Godzilla's power wearing off predates the site's transition from wikia. The blurb has been removed from Wikizilla, but the far less accurate Gojipedia still includes it.

As far as they know, there's no source that claims Godzilla either lost or retained the power. It's probably just up to your discretion, but I'll continue to snoop around out of mere curiosity.

Honestly, the best evidence for the "Ghidorah is an alien" theory comes from BEFORE the trailers' releases, when Michael Dougherty made some interesting Twitter reposts/responses on NASA Tweets, ESPECIALLY that one about alien microorganisms being preserved in crystals.

Godzillatheking123Godzilla ForumThe falling object from trailer 2, what is it?

Come to think of it, I like Godzilla's_Tail79's theory about the shot being actually a flashback about Ghidorah's arrival on Earth in pre-historic times, alluding to the alien origin of Ghdiroah in the Showa series. So that would mean Ghidorah is fundamentally different from other titans in it's alien origin.

Sounds a bit fanciful, but anything is possible at this point.

Black Scorpion - an old WB film... speculation mind you... but that could be what's coming out of the ground near the oil rigs. WB could use that and it could work for this movie. As for the mountain swelling up... that to me seems like it could be a TOHO monster that was green lighted but kept secret.

And yeah the only issue with super complete works, I think, will be translating it. But there are plenty of pathings around that hurdle.

Getting past the....... "weirdness" of Ghidorah's hax will be key here, I presume. Maybe even exposing his true form.

Either way, this is but a mere appetizer for the true meal, Godzilla: King of the Monsters!

That's a good place to start. To my recollection there's nothing in the Toho SFX Monster Encyclopedia about it. So we can strike that from the source list.

dippindotssssGodzilla ForumQuestion about Final Wars?

Thanks, that's exactly what I thought. But I'd say that the energy was infinite and that we were clearly shown the power being received but not lost at the absolute least implied the powerup was permanent (and at most confirms it). Also supporting this conclusion is how FinalGoji or UGoji was immune to all weapons used against it before it was accidentally trapped; that includes the Oxygen Destroyer. It adapted and evolved to micro-oxygen live and permanently assimilated it into its Soul and living physiology, just like it did to the Unlimited Kaiser energy it absorbed, which rendered UGoji an omnipotent and omniscient and omnipresent and amortal Kaiser as well. FinalGoji and KeizerGoji can also, of course, touch their toes, feet, reach around behind tail with arms head torso etc, wrap itself up tighter infinitely, OUROBOROS but also not -- immanent in transcendence.

I was digging too, and I couldn't find anyone else talking about this specific question, so I think novelization or guide books are probably our best chance to hear some official word. Please let me know if you find anything.

EDIT: I've ordered a copy of final wars super complete works to study. It'll take a while to arrive but I'll be sure to report back before and after it gets here

Godzilla's_Tail79: All plausible possibilities. Could also be Mothra getting fried by King Ghidorah.

Either

A) A flashback of Ghidorah falling to Earth

B) Godzilla/Rodan/Mothra falling down to Earth after being brought into the upper atmosphere by Ghidorah

I'm curious to see how Godzilla will fight an opponent made entirely of energy. He can't touch Ghidorah and his Atomic Breath gets deflected so how does he fight?
