I am planning to go and have okayed it with the organizers to interview con goers on the messages in the different monster films that will be played for my podcast. I am excited.
This design is a big step up from 2014. And FWI he’s not chubby, he’s a freaking tank.
I personally loves this new take on him.
I hope you can come, I'm anticipating one of the best, craziest years ever since the July convention this year will be right on the heels of the new release.
I love them all its Godzilla (zilla does not count) there all badass in there own way
When I was growing up I always have been into dragons and dinosaurs. I had a room all to myself upstairs, so one time I was grounded from tv, I waited for my parents and sibling to go to sleep, when they did I turned on my Toto low volume and was surfing through the channels and came across the 1993 Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2. It honestly made me cry. I loved everything about Godzilla and have been rooting for him ever since. And the more movies i watched just made it more so. Except Godzilla 2000... it never happened.
I like it, except for the shorter, blunter tail. I think people who see this design as fat see it that way because it's head is proportionally smaller and his neck is thicker than in other designs. Look at the Heisei Godzilla though, except for the bigger head and thinner neck, it's about the same in "fatness".
Must go.....Geeking out.......
I think he looks good. They have slimmed him down from 2014. I actually liked the more jagged, less maple-leaf shaped spikes from 2014 but I agree they could have been a bit bigger.
Thanks Sci-Fi King25
I want to see Warner Bros. incorporate some of their old monsters, like the Rhedosaurus and giant ants.
MechaGodzilla would be awesome
Mothra does defeat Rodan.
She stabs him in the chest but doesn't kill him.
Mothra really is a Goddess not to be tussled with
I loved Godzilla 2014's design so seeing it get some touch ups in Godzilla King of The Monsters has just made me love it even more.
Nah, I like this design, I don't care if he's fat, looks good.
If, and that is a mighty big if, the monster verse continues, I would love to see Godzilla battle MechaGodzilla.
Godzilla in Hell is my favorite. Plenty of old enemies. Best comic ever
I totally agree with you. It looks menacing enough to take on Mothra. And beautiful enough to be a goddess. Your Prayers will be answered because this Goddess is not a force to be reckoned with.
This is how I imagine his death.
Ghidorah is standing in the middle of a burning Boston. Godzilla lay near death at his feet.As hes about to deliver the final blow Mothra swoops down and takes the blow that was meant to kill Godzilla. Mothras ashes rain down on Godzilla. Godzilla opens his eyes and stands up and a red color takes form on his body. He uses his spiral rays several times. Ghidorah trys to fly off. But Godzilla bites down on his wing. Godzilla throws himdown on the ground. Godzilla begins an onslaught with his tail and spiral rays. Until Ghidorah dies from his injurys.
So buying this figure
I'd love Ghidorah to survive, and retreat barely alive to either outer space or polar regions. If he were to die, I'd like the middle head to outlive the side ones for once. :)
My belief is it will be a combination of Godzilla's effort in combination with the humans using the Oxygen Destroyer on it. That to me would be a suitable twist, have the intention be to use the OD on Godzilla but end up using it on Ghidorah as the greater threat.
Nah, the best one is that HD image of him just BEFORE that shot. Showcases him in his best light, I think.
Rodan is one of the crown jewels of Toho's classic era, and one of the few where the American additions actually add something meaningful in the additional narration on the English dub, it did a superb job of getting me emotionally invested in both the human struggle and empathy for the monsters. It's one of my all-time faves and Rodan deserving more attention and respect is long, long overdue, so all praise to the KOTM team for making him a part of the roster.
For better judgment, I will change the banner image
Wasn't it stated somewhere that the reason the Mutos had the EMP field was to mess with the G-mans atomic breath? I could have swore I read that somewhere. Either way it definitely looks better/stronger, but that could just be the effects more than anything else. Also did anyone else notice that the sub in front of him in the scene looks like ballistic missile submarine? Maybe that has something to do with it.
I think the size of the figure has everything to do with the cost. It's a lot don't get me wrong, but at ten inches tall and almost two feet in wingspan the thing is bigger than some statues I've seen for way more money. I agree it would be cool if it came with gravity beams, but I can kind of see why it is at the price point it's been set at.
I personally really like the design. He looks more real like he's a creature that could actually exist. I agree he's "chubby" to an extent but it looks right on a creature that large. He lives in the deep ocean which is supper cold so having him have more body mass like this makes sense to my eye. So I think the design is perfect for the universe they've set up.
I think it depends on what you consider scary. I don't partake of modern horror movies, they bore me honestly, but I think they have set a very different president for what is scary nowadays. The original Gojira film, 1954 right?, was scary to people then. I think the Legendary team did a good job in making a Godzilla who in universe is definitely scary, but to us the viewer maybe not. I really enjoy the design of the new Godzilla and they took their inspiration for his scalation very evidently from crocadilians which would make him scary looking to some. If I was in the universe I'd probably think Godzilla was cool and scary, which is how this universe me thinks. If that makes any sense what so ever.
^Gman… I think you're right. an altered contract may be on the horizon. But it's still remains to be seen.
Didn't TOHO say they wanted to create their own monsterverse ? Shin Gojira may have done better in Japan but worldwide... didn't G14 make more overall ? And with G KOM coming... it stands to reason that TOHO could make deals with WB and Legendary (they'd be smart too) Merchandise across the board would fly off the shelves world wide in the wake of big box office success for the next 2 films... so Legendary and WB should align with TOHO and continue to build the monterverse… with TOHO having a place at the table. If memory serves me right... TOHO was initially against the advent of another G film and were pretty sore about the fact that they had no creative control over it... but... Mike Dougherty might just be the answer to the problem... for if he truly honors the reputation of Godzilla... it might redeem Hollywood in the eyes of the Japanese fan base and TOHO as well... and WB and Legendary should offer TOHO a new proposal and form an alliance of sorts for an on going Monsterverse… where TOHO benefits financially.
As for merchandise... I want posters... t shirt... figures ect ect ect. I'm willing to buy anything connected to the next 2 films.
Plot twist, all 3 end up dying. And while that’s happening, they discover that there is indeed another Godzilla, but this one is more vicious and lethal than the other one. Ends up defeating ghidorah, but in the process, tries to destroy humanity. Hence oxygen destroyer is cast upon him, and we are left thinking we got rid of Godzilla and Ghidorah.
That sets up a villain Godzilla vs hero Kong for 2020
I’m new here and I’ve been a Godzilla fan since I was like 4 years old and now as an adult still have some new toys and getting every Godzilla film on dvd and Blu-Ray
It’s good from feet spines and head from the front view but the side view he’s still chubby from his chest to belly
