I agree with "Moldovan0731"s opinion
Anyway, I like Godzilla's new design much more than Godzilla 2014 design, especially his big fins. But I still believe that if it was a bit slender from the abdomen, it would be prettier
I don't get why people think that this Godzilla is fat... I mean... when he's crouched down it gives that appearance but when he's upright... he looks just fine. Now the FAT Godzilla was in the 90's... and shin Gojira... looked like a lumpy fat turd to me (yes... I did not care for that design at all nor did I care for the theme of the movie) When you see the thunder thighs on those two versions... just picture a really fat lower half of human being that looks as though they spent too much time at KFC and can barely fit through the entrance of any eating establishment without having to turn almost sideways to get in.
Huge-Ben,
This may be the year. 'Tis fun. Hopefully I see you there finally.
I like it, but I like shin-goji a little better. Despite the funny eyes.
Hope it happens for ya one of these years, dude, I get a lot of satisfaction meeting fellow artists especially.
I've been planning on going for the past 5 years now and always last minute, life inquiries have came up and have prevented me from going. Maybe some day I will get to go. Got a lot of friends that would love to go and have gone to the event, and they're always nagging me to go.
Awesome, if you happen to run into us I'm always more than happy to gab for a good cause :)
I like the tweaks to the GarethGoji: the dorsals and the feet. As for overall proportions, I would like to see something along the lines of the MosuGoji from Mothra vs. Godzilla. In fact, an updated version of this design would suit me just fine, especially the hooded eyes. I'm assuming the intent with the present design is to convey a sense of mass and strength. So, overall I like it.
I am planning to go and have okayed it with the organizers to interview con goers on the messages in the different monster films that will be played for my podcast. I am excited.
This design is a big step up from 2014. And FWI he’s not chubby, he’s a freaking tank.
I personally loves this new take on him.
I hope you can come, I'm anticipating one of the best, craziest years ever since the July convention this year will be right on the heels of the new release.
I love them all its Godzilla (zilla does not count) there all badass in there own way
When I was growing up I always have been into dragons and dinosaurs. I had a room all to myself upstairs, so one time I was grounded from tv, I waited for my parents and sibling to go to sleep, when they did I turned on my Toto low volume and was surfing through the channels and came across the 1993 Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 2. It honestly made me cry. I loved everything about Godzilla and have been rooting for him ever since. And the more movies i watched just made it more so. Except Godzilla 2000... it never happened.
I like it, except for the shorter, blunter tail. I think people who see this design as fat see it that way because it's head is proportionally smaller and his neck is thicker than in other designs. Look at the Heisei Godzilla though, except for the bigger head and thinner neck, it's about the same in "fatness".
Must go.....Geeking out.......
I think he looks good. They have slimmed him down from 2014. I actually liked the more jagged, less maple-leaf shaped spikes from 2014 but I agree they could have been a bit bigger.
Thanks Sci-Fi King25
I want to see Warner Bros. incorporate some of their old monsters, like the Rhedosaurus and giant ants.
MechaGodzilla would be awesome
Mothra does defeat Rodan.
She stabs him in the chest but doesn't kill him.
Mothra really is a Goddess not to be tussled with
I loved Godzilla 2014's design so seeing it get some touch ups in Godzilla King of The Monsters has just made me love it even more.
Nah, I like this design, I don't care if he's fat, looks good.
If, and that is a mighty big if, the monster verse continues, I would love to see Godzilla battle MechaGodzilla.
Godzilla in Hell is my favorite. Plenty of old enemies. Best comic ever
I totally agree with you. It looks menacing enough to take on Mothra. And beautiful enough to be a goddess. Your Prayers will be answered because this Goddess is not a force to be reckoned with.
This is how I imagine his death.
Ghidorah is standing in the middle of a burning Boston. Godzilla lay near death at his feet.As hes about to deliver the final blow Mothra swoops down and takes the blow that was meant to kill Godzilla. Mothras ashes rain down on Godzilla. Godzilla opens his eyes and stands up and a red color takes form on his body. He uses his spiral rays several times. Ghidorah trys to fly off. But Godzilla bites down on his wing. Godzilla throws himdown on the ground. Godzilla begins an onslaught with his tail and spiral rays. Until Ghidorah dies from his injurys.
So buying this figure
I'd love Ghidorah to survive, and retreat barely alive to either outer space or polar regions. If he were to die, I'd like the middle head to outlive the side ones for once. :)
My belief is it will be a combination of Godzilla's effort in combination with the humans using the Oxygen Destroyer on it. That to me would be a suitable twist, have the intention be to use the OD on Godzilla but end up using it on Ghidorah as the greater threat.
Nah, the best one is that HD image of him just BEFORE that shot. Showcases him in his best light, I think.
Rodan is one of the crown jewels of Toho's classic era, and one of the few where the American additions actually add something meaningful in the additional narration on the English dub, it did a superb job of getting me emotionally invested in both the human struggle and empathy for the monsters. It's one of my all-time faves and Rodan deserving more attention and respect is long, long overdue, so all praise to the KOTM team for making him a part of the roster.
