I'm so glad that he paid attention to us fans and based the monsters' designs off of the past incarnations while also listening to what the fans want. He's also a long time Godzilla fan which probably means that most Godzilla fans will definitely enjoy this film.

Except that Jurassic Park is more grounded than any Godzilla movie. I mean Jurassic Park is a very hard sci-fi and Godzilla is so soft on the sci-fi scale that its rubbing belly buttons with fantasy.

They look great.

I have 3 questions.

1:)If the the Titans of Greek mythology took the form of Kaiju like Godzilla or something,What would they look like?

2:)Same question but with Gods from Warhammer Fantasy.

and 3:) What would some of the cultures/mythologies could be connected by Kaiju from Toho? (For those of read Rage across time)

My venture began when I was 3 or 4 years old when I saw my first Godzilla movie which was, funnily enough, King Kong vs. Godzilla. Life as a Godzilla fan from that point on has had it's ups and downs, I drew a lot of fan art, saw as many movies in the franchise as I could which was rather difficult given the time, and even had toys of it from time to time. But in terms of fitting in because of it? Well, I kinda felt sort of left out because of it. That was until I met my still current best friend Ben Kirk, from there, I slowly became more and more comfortable, even embracive of my love for the Godzilla franchise. And that's my beginnings with the Godzilla franchise. I'm King Gargantuas, and I'll see y'all next time. ;)

And Rodan! If Mike Dougherty truly is a Dragon to the world will be safe!

Sounds like Doughboy is gonna hit this one out of the park! He called them the first Gods and proclaimed his love and kinship for Dragons. I hope this means he has mercy for King Ghidorah letting him keep all his heads and life.

I can't wait. I'm so happy with what I'm hearing. They really went all out for the sequel. This is going to be so good.

I would like to see Godzilla junior return including a Godzilla vs Gamera 

besides being a fan for years and still looking for some of the films on dvd

You know, Godzilla's atomic breath so far already has spirals around it when we see him use it in the SDCC trailer. He used it when he's in his presumably buffed-up state that he's in where his dorsal plates are constantly glowing that he uses against King Ghidorah. Presumably it's because he lost the first time to King Ghidorah in Antarctica.

So, the atomic breath is already part way there, just needs to change colour :D

Although there is no legally-binding connection, it's not hard to have the events of the JP movies take place in the same continuity as the Monsterverse.

There's really nothing contradicting anything, so if you want to hold that headcanon, nothing official is stopping you from saying it can't work in terms of chronology and what-not :P

As impressive as the dinosaurs are in Jurassic Park, I doubt they would stand a chance against Godzilla, so even on logical grounds, it is not probable for them to exist in the same universe. 

I like that spiral ray idea, I envision it to be something akin to the'Special Beam Cannon.' Can't wait to see those dorsal plates in their fiery glory

But really,  I enjoyed all Godzilla movies.  These are just the ones I can rewatch all day.    I honestly have only seen one Gamera movie. But I like his origin and would like to see more. I do recommend Gamera. 

That's why I love the new movies because it makes new fans to the fanbase and makes new characters like the MUTOS and other kaiju but my wish is toho does not sell it off again unless back to legendary then I'm fine with it . Just hopefully DISNEY stays off of toho they already took marvel leave big g alone

First, understand that Legendary Pictures can not fully fund or distribute the movies they make. They are partnered with larger studios that distribute movies for them.

In 2013 they were partnered with Warner Brothers which distributed Pacific Rim. In 2017 they were partnered with Universal who distributed Pacific Rim: Uprising. 

They helped Universal fund the first two Jurassic World movies, but unlike Pacific Rim, Jurassic World is a Universal production. That's the only reason their name is attached to the Jurassic World films.

Legendary has made a deal to go back to Warner Brothers, so next year WB will be distributing all of their films. It also means they will not be attached to the third Jurassic World in any way.

As for connecting with Godzilla, it's been stated multiple times by filmmakers from Pacific Rim: Uprising that the Monsterverse and Pacific Rim-verse do not connect, which is pretty obvious since the dates clash. The kaiju cameos in Uprising were just Easter eggs. Nothing to take seriously.

if you want serious shin godzilla, and the 1954 godzilla film. if you watch fun films, godzilla vs mechagodzilla, godzilla final wars. others films that dont include in here that i would recomend would be the 90's gamera trilogy, pacific rim, theres two anime kaiju seires that i recommend, ssss gridman and the new ultraman series. Finally i would recommend any obscured b movie that not that many talk about as alot have their charms.  

See, this is exactly what I mean, when you make a film that appeals to the general audience, a film that everyone can watch, not only do you gain more revenue, but you gain new fans as well.
THIS is why I love the MonsterVerse so far, it does exactly the same thing as Marvel: it acknowledges the fans and shows respect for the source material while still making something fresh and new that general audience will like. I prefer they keep it like that and not make the same mistake DC had made by catering the fan bases only at the expense of the bigger audience.

 We kinda saw the hint of it in the trailer, glad to see it's confirmed. Should make for an epic finale. More Hype!

I always joked the burning Godzilla form is the big G going "Super Saiyan", just as Goku in Dragon Balls was already a powerful martial artist in his pre-Super Saiyan state, Godzilla was really powerful in his "normal" state. So for the big G to become his burning form, he really is going "Super Saiyan", haha.

Now I want to know if his atomic breath will also be bright orange red too, maybe even with a spiral ray? Or would it be something new and interesting?

Along with Biollante, Destroyah was a memorable original monster from the Heisei era. How it's look will be interpreted in the Monsterverse is going to be interesting. I know there have been fan paintings showing what they think Destroyah could look like, but what do you think a new Destroyah should look?

Well, this is interesting confirmation indeed. From the toys, it seems only his spikes are glowing red, although if the trailer is any guide, his body will probably be burning. 

In this case, I guess it's pretty guaranteed that his atomic breath will also get "powered up" to bright orange red too?

YEEESSS!!!! Alright Alright Alright!!! Burning Godzilla Confirmed! I hope they make it that when he goes burning mode he doesn't die and he can like to in and out of it like sonic going supersonic and hypersonic.

I wonder if Mothra has a burning form? Given her color pattern in the toys. Or maybe Mothra transfers energy to Godzilla similar to Fire Rodan, who transferred his energy to Godzilla to give him his Spiral Atomic Breath and revive? 

That moment you realize that the return of Burning Godzilla also means that most likely we'll see the Spiral Red Atomic Breath again.
