Titanosaurus confirmed!
Yay for finding stuff!
The mountain Titan looks like it has a face made of stone.
Though we still don't know whos side Rodan will be on, we at least do know that they will have a fight at some point.
Also, I think it is pretty safe to say that the mountain kaiju is an original kaiju and not Baragon/Anguirus. We get a pretty clear shot of its face and there is no horn to be seen. Also, the mountain kaiju is located at Munich Germany which is one of the locations that can be found on the Monarch Sciences site.
Correction: he WAS the mountain :P
Shots of oil wells...and I think I saw the eye of the kaiju emerging from the mountain.
You clearly know way more science than I do so thanks for pointing these things out.
If the oxygen destroyer won't be used in the movie, then I am going to be pretty disappointed. I mean it is the oxygen destroyer!! Its one of the most important artifacts/weapons of the Godzilla franchise. This is just one of those things through which we can only wait and see what will happen in the movie.
Yeah, I can see now giving Mechagodzilla the ability to be unaffected by the atomic breath was not a smart my move on my part. Maybe instead of that, you could give Mechagodzilla this Christal-like gas that it can eject from its body which would make any beam attack either reflect, weaken or be absorbed. Also, you have to remember that the metal is not the thing holding together, but the Godzilla skeleton is. I mentioned this in the topic by saying that the data the system reveals that the Godzilla species's skeletons have evolved over time to a point that they can withstand more than 100.000 tons. This is also how I personally believe that all of these kaiju can exist in the Monsterverse. This is just head-cannon though.
Almost as if he knows that he’s going to die, and his only chance for survival is to knit himself a cocoon and transform, but even then he still won’t make it. Because let’s be honest, mothra died more times than survived, and the look in that larva’s eyes is the same as the larva in Tokyo S.O.S when they watched their mother burst into flames
Only one I really hope they don’t add is any sort of Godzilla offspring. I feel like we might be seeing some mecha-king ghidorah, biollante, or destroyah. They said something about a bio terrorist organization having their own ideas for the monsters, so I wouldn’t at all be surprised if it happens. As long as they leave Manilla out of it with his “don’t worry I won’t hurt ya”, and little Godzilla with his utter usefulness
That mothra larva looks like it’s seen something....
I don’t remember that one, but I sure do remember the Taco Bell toys they gave as promotion as well as the horrible gba game
This is hilarious! The mothra mask looks more like battra tbh, and the ghidorah costume speaks for itself. I’d like to see the reaction of the old suit designers from the Showa era if they saw this
And I was considering all those points while writing my response. I know the oxygen destroyer, or whatever they are calling it in the movie, will "play a big part" but I think it will be as more of a red-haring and something that we don't see used. But will probably be heavily debated. Depending on the time jump between the 2014 movie and KOTM then a hyper advanced computer system like that coming into being would maybe make more sense. While we have computers that can mimic complex thought patterns, as far as I'm aware from what research I've done, we can't get anywhere near the level of pseudo sentience that you're describing with the computer system.
The first movie was very much against the use of Nuclear weapons essentially blaming them for the reign of terror caused by the MUTO's and subsequently Godzilla. This is the main reason I doubt the oxygen destroyer will be used. The nuke being on a timer in the 2014 film was more for dramatic tension than anything else. If they were able to open the casing and disarm it, they would have also disarmed the tension in the film. At that point it would have just been wait and see what Godzilla can do against the MUTO's.
Another issue with Mecha Godzilla is that human kind has yet to create a metal or any other material for that matter that could take the kind of stresses that a platform like that would be under. The square cubed law, while it does fly in the face of giant monsters, seems to be a real thing in this universe as the larges weapons humans have are the Nimitz class carriers. Also the kind of impacts that any substance would be subject too while trying to combat Godzilla or any other Kaiju, are going to be far to great for even carbon nano tubes to endure. And to your comment about Godzilla's atomic breath, and we're entering speculative science territory here. It looked as though his atomic breath burned the female MUTO, which nothing humans threw at it could accomplish. That kind of power output is going to shred anything we are capable of making. Also, the fact that his breath is blue seems to indicate Gama radiation. Gama radiation is horrific to EVERYTHING. If Godzilla hit Mecha Goji with his atomic breath in universe, again speculative, it's going to shred through the metal and bathe every circuit and fluid in the mech with massive doses of Gama radiation. If Mecha Goji is manned, they're dead, no questions. If he's not, his circuits and motor functions will be fried by the double wammy of heat and radiation.
And just for comparison since I am speaking of science. The oxygen destroyer at least makes sense, we know of chemicals that bond with oxygen to either change it to another chemical, like nitrous oxide, or sulfur dioxide. So the idea that this process could be weaponized makes sense. It would be the single most horrific weapon EVER produced because of what it would do to our atmosphere. But it at least is plausible. So while I doubt it will be used, it at least makes sense that this weapon could exist.
Sorry for the wall of text. I like Mecha Godzilla, he's one of my favorite "kaiju" He's a mech so is he a "kaiju"? Anyway, I enjoy the concept of the character and the character itself, I just don't think it fits the monsterverse.
^ I actually never thought about the narrative part of the Monsterverse in that way. Thanks for pointing me out.
I don't know if the Monsterverse is looking to keep this narrative point though. The oxygen destroyer is confirmed to be in KOTM as an important part of the story which likely means it is going to be used on Godzilla, Ghidorah or both. This would kind of defeat that narrative point don't you think.
Also, remember that my version says that Mechagodzilla was constructed by the computer system (or something/someone else?) and not by humans. The story also takes place at a time where the human race has been doing nothing but stand back and watch, so giving Mechagodzilla the chance to finally give the human race a change would be a nice change, wouldn't it?

you've got an interesting story here, but my problem with Mecha Godzilla in the monsterverse is that they've made it very clear that mankind cannot hurt the titans. They are gods and all we can do is stand back and watch as they fight and reign. Mecha Godzilla doesn't fit that narrative. Mecha Godzilla would fit more in a narrative where mankind has found a way to hurt the titans. The only reason the other titans are "contained" in KOTM is that Monarch is just monitoring where they are sleeping, or frozen in Ghidorahs case. Just my two cents. Again pretty cool idea you've got there, I just don't think Mecha Godzilla fits the narrative.
Best figure of the bunch so far. Rodan looks so cool.
We're slowly getting a better look at Mothra. Her design is beautiful. Though, I feel the larva should be a little longer.
Neat. I still prefer S.H. MonsterArts but this does look really good.
^ It would be amazing to see both American Godzilla's fighting against each other.
Give Zilla a second chance for the monsterverse
Yeah, the King Ghidorah one looks funky as heck
Rodan looks great. All the details are there. One small nitpicking point, I would prefer the lava on it's wings being more pronounced or visible in color.
Is this closer to the "final production" version of Mothra or the preliminary version? I recalled Dougherty said something about Mothra photos and toys not being the "final" look.
Looks awesome. I like the level of detail that has gone into this. I particular like the spikes and how it looks great on Godzilla, their size and shape looks incredible.
I get what both of you are saying. Ok then
^That's my assertion as well. We'll see.
Not that it's that big of a secret, but I think we need to shut up about it. There are people already in hot water that I don't want to draw any further attention to. They probably like eating.
We seem to be pretty sure of the film's tone before it's released.
In any case, as Durp said, I never suggested Jet Jaguar actually show up in KotM. (Unless good reason was given.) The post asked about future movies and post-KotM is certainly the future. Groundwork should be a given. I would hope a cinematic universe doesn't stagnate and maintains a singular tone based on one film.
(Not that I particularly expect the Monsterverse will continue beyond 2020 anyway...)
TheGMan123,
While the trailer seems to indicate new portions of his body light up (his eyes, gills, etc), I think some of this paint scheme is merely imitating the glow from his fins/atomic blast--Ala, the GMK Godzilla paint scheme:
From what I've seen so far, it looks like Mothra is going to be less majestic and more comabt-ready/aggressive. Slimmed body design and the "thinner" wing design give a waspy look over a moth or butterfly look. Also, calling Mothra the "Queen of Monsters" and adding "god rays" to her list of abilities also gives a Mothra's-gonna-kick-your-butt vibe. I'm excited to see Mothra be a bad*ss and not die in the end lol.
@Gmkgoji,
Not here to stir up anything, but I do need to point out that Gman was not specifically calling your "opinion" BS, rather he was stating that a certain amount of a supposed "plot leak" is BS.
We know that there is some very accurate information floating around, but at the same time, there is a BS "plot leak" that's also floating around.
Now, when Chris and Gman say they have sources linked closely with the making of this film, they're not lying to you about that. I would love to explain, but I can't say anything due to higher powers watching my every move. This falls back to what Gman was telling you in his first response about "Sources tied to the production are under heavy watch by both Legendary and WB after the toy leaks." Which I can confirm.
You don't have to believe either of us. You have stated what you believe, and we respect that. Sometimes comments can be misread and misinterpreted.
Gosh, I really hope Godzilla games are brought back. I used to play Godzilla Destroy All Monsters Melee with my big brother all the time. Those were good times.
The Ghidorah one is hilarious. I would totally get that for my kid
Well, it's still early days for nailing the release date. Not too late for the studio to move the release date around to avoid clashing with other big blockbusters...right? At least I am assuming they will move the date, they are not dumb enough to think they can take on the FF franchise without any consequences?
G. H. (Gman): Haha, good thing you aren't directing KOTM. Although I suppose Jet Jaguar could be in the monsterverse..eventually. Just not right now, and hopefully not in KOTM. It would destroy the tone of the movie right then and there.
@Chris
I know that Gman is an administrator for the website, and that he deserves and has earned respect. This is going to sound low, but he offended me, and I got angry. I admit it. The problem is, we have differing opinions, he called mine out for being wrong. Is he right? Well, he certainly can be, but I think my source is correct. Anyhow, he called some things I said BS. How am I supposed to give a guy respect for calling my opinion BS? I get what you are saying Chris, and I greatly respect you, but Gman crossed my line. I crossed his too, it seems.
I have some experience with debate, and I know that this site isn't facebook or twitter, but I don't think Gman should have called what I believe BS. At that point, respect is thrown out the window.I love being here, but some things just don't go well. This thread is one example.
I've said my piece, and good day to you sir
here's hoping this one can look straight up. Would be ideal for a diorama recreating the now iconic trailer shot. If not it would still be good for the rising out of the water moment.
This topic has become fairly de-railed. Let me clarify a couple things so this back and forth nonsense ends:
@gmkgoji, Firstly, nobody is calling you stupid, but there are several "leaks" floating around the web concerning KOTM. Many of them are wrong. We do have some sources close enough to production that can and have dispelled these leaks. Like it or not, believe it or not, that's reality. It's fine to believe in whatever, but don't get offended or personally attack other members for them trying to convince you of the contrary.
Secondly, GMan is an administrator of this website. He has earned tremendous respect within this site and the G-Fan community and holds the highest rank available to staff of this network. Agree or disagree with him, but you do owe him some respect and to speak to him accordingly. He has contributed extensively to this site alone and continues to be a reputable source for information. I will not tolerate any member on this site, especially my fellow staff to be spoken to the way you have in this thread.
Thirdly, the clickbait comments are so 2014. You're right, haters are gonna hate, but does the opinion of one youtuber (who I have never heard of) weigh at all on the credibility of this site? Not at all.
This is a community and information resource and that is what it shall remain. This isn't Facebook or Twitter where you can throw shade at other people over nonsensical debate. Debate is healthy and debate is encouraged, but it needs to be respectful and considerate. Please remember that and consider that the next time you engage with other members.
Out of all the new Neca figues, this one looks the best.
