thank you G. H. (Gman) I also thought that since the monsterverse is trying to be more realistic and Ghidorah is the largest of the flying monsters perhaps his flight would only be partially achieved through wing power with the rest would be achieved through the use of his gravity beams allowing him to achieve a low gravity state but again, it's more likely he will be more of a traditional Ghidorah
Y'know, what the trailers are revealing aside, I like SaibaShinrei's idea of saving King Ghidorah's flight for a climactic moment. It's a cool idea from a dramatic standpoint and it worked really well in GMK.
But I'm equally as satisfied with King Ghidorah just being King Ghidorah and taking off from the get-go.
GojiFanPat I think the scene with his silhouette over washington DC is just a vision of a future where Ghidorah isn't defeated and begins his destruction of the world, I don't think it's actually a scene that takes place during the events of the movie (it could be but I don't think so) but again also I'd just like to point out I'm not saying he can't fly I was just asking if he could because it didn't seem like he could from the quote that seemed to imply that he hasn't flown yet or everything would be destroyed, as for the Rodan vs Ghidorah fight, I thought that would maybe be in the end of the movie during the big climax or maybe even in the same vision of a future where Ghidorah destroys washington (btw I really hope the washington DC scene is really in the movie and it's not just a vision because it looks awesome but usually when something that big is in a movie trailer it turns out to be either a flashback or a vision)
you and MDK 2 (MinecraftDinoKaiju) are right tho, flying would be the most sensible way for him to travel from Antarctica so that's a really good point
He's fighting Rodan in the TV spot. Clearly it takes place before the final battle. Plus Ghidorah's in Antarctica, so he can't just swim unnoticed. So, no. He has the power to fly already. Sorry.
Godzillatheking123 Ok man, but still, calm down.
G. H. (Gman) I'm sorry. I have no idea what's going on right now. Let's just enjoy the images on the threads and leave this behind us.
Of course he can fly. It's like Giving Rodan wings, but saying that he can't fly with them. Also, if you say that he doesn't have the ability to fly, then how the hell is he going to go from Antarctica to Washington DC or Boston? (Apparently Boston was shown in the first trailer) Sure, he may swim, but we also see the silhouette of Ghidorah in this shot.
So unfortunately, your theory is false. (Unless it's shown in some sort of Backflash sequence. If that's what you're talking about, then pay NO attention to what I said before.)
you're probably right Gman, I just saw it and thought it was interesting and maybe it could be hinting at the possibility that a lot of the movie would build up to Ghidorahs first flight and how it is a really big deal when he finally does it
Well, I personally can appreciate camp in G Movies (earlier in my life I pretended to hate most of the Showa Series for it’s campiness to act cool.), but I do have my limits. Really campy ones: King Kong vs Godzilla, Ghidorah the Three Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro Monster, Son of Godzilla, Godzilla vs Gigan, Godzilla vs Megalon, and Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla 1974 I really enjoy. The only ones I couldn’t tolerate were Godzilla’s Revenge and Godzilla vs Hedorah, I think they went a little overboard.
I think it's just flowery prophecy talk to hype up Ghidorah should he ever make a return.
but what if his gravity manipulation is an important aspect of his flight in the monsterverse, due to his sheer size his wings can't lift him on the earth alone and he needs to build up power or energy before he can use powers like his gravity beams to help him fly on earth, that image would be him roaring in victory as he achieves enough power to fly and summoning yellow lightning gravity beams to aid him in his flight, it just seemed strange to me that the quote talks about ghidorahs flight as like a prophecy, like it comes off as "if ghidorah flies then the world ends" but maybe it's just me, I dunno just a thought I had
MDK 2,
I pretty much just copied and pasted what I wrote in the other thread so... no? I think you just didn't read in the other thread.
I'm definitely missing something on the minority/majority one.
There should be some amount of camp with an established franchise imo. I think we need a release valve at times to remind us that it is entertainment after all.
Ghidorah has wings for a reason. To fly. But good theory though!
G. H. (Gman): I know, but I am allowed to not edit my post for some reason! Alright?!
I don't necessarily need a super-serious Godzilla movie. The human characters can crack some jokes and have humor. I'm fine with that. But whether serious or campy, the producers and director must always treat Godzilla with respect and not simply reduced him to a piece of joke.
Nah, I don't think so. Ghidorah have his wings from the get go. Kind of weird if it can't use if for flying until the very end of the movie.
Kong hangin' on to Godzilla's tail... oh to actually see that on film would be so cool.
The official Godzilla vs Kong synopsis says "In a time when monsters walk the Earth". Hmmm... The titans we see in the Godzilla king of the monsters trailer (Methuselah and Onix) will still be alive most likely. Rodan is a confirmed yes in GvK, bu Mothra and Ghidorah, given their track record... Not confirmed.
well I hope you are right i would want godzilla vs kong to stay as a 1v1, at least until the end, I honestly wouldnt mind if a 3rd monster like Destoroyah showed up for them to tag team (I think most people are against that though)
G. H. (Gman) For elaborating more on the rules. (As I recommended.)
SaibaShinrei No, I don't think that would happen. Maybe with a few of them, but only maybe.
Interesting development
there are just too many to choose from but in no particular order: Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, Gigan, monster X/Kaiser Ghidorah, Destoroyah, Zilla jr, Ymir, Rhedosaurus, the giant behemoth, Ogra (not to be confused with Orga), Baragon, Lizzie (rampage movie), Q the winged serpent, Otachi, Slatern, the Giant Behemoth, Biolante, the MUTOs, Clover
that's all my favourites that I can think of for now OH WAIT...also skeleturtle
if the new titans don't have an important role in this movie then that means they will most likely be important to the plot of Godzilla vs Kong which seems kinda weird to me honestly since the appeal of Godzilla vs Kong is the fact that it's a 1v1 with two of the worlds most famous Kaiju characters
Told ya. You're welcome.
MDK 2 (MinecraftDinoKaiju),
I had.
Just saying. :)
G. H. (Gman) That, and/or elaborate on the rules of the thread next time. Just saying. You're welcome.
Not necessarily memes. The point really isn't to be comedic only. Just as easily, some interesting images that incite some thought. Such as:
Or

But seeing as this has spiraled into a comedic meme thread I might as well keep it that way and make another thread for such.
DarthRaptor97 Yeah, but Monsterverse Godzilla is meant to be like that due to his design. It's still cool, though.
Yeah, sorry, but I feel like Methuselah might fight Godzilla because of his grudge against him, only to either lose and be killed by Godzilla, or lose to Godzilla, return for a second fight, and then be killed by King Ghidorah. (And obviously (logically speaking), King Ghidorah be defeated or killed by Godzilla.) But I could be wrong.
Nah dude
THERE ARE MORE
I thought the new ones were just the mountain titan and the desert one with all the legs
