I'm not sure, it doesn't have the pincers of a scorpion, and we don't see the tail. It overall looks more like a spider to me. I'm not entirely sure though, and it could be something like a Spider-Scorpion mixture, like how Godzilla has been described as "a whale and a Dinosaur put together" in the original films, or like the giant lion-turtles from Avatar the Last Air Bender. Overall though, it seems much more likely t me that it's a spider or something that more resembles a spider, perhaps as an homage to Kumonga from the original movies, yet still being different enough to be it's own new Kaiju.
So if Godzilla is the one falling from the sky after getting dropped by Ghidorah, we get another shot of him in the trailer seemingly trying to get back up after a fall, is that scene where he gets up after falling from the sky? On second thought, maybe not, since he isn't in flames. Maybe it's just him getting up after Ghidorah floored him earlier.

Welp, I changed my mind, I’ll review “Godzilla Raids Again”. Sadly I don’t have the Japanese version, so I was stuck with “Gigantis the Fire Monster”. This movie is a major downgrade from 54. The characters are either flat, annoying, or both. The main character’s only defining trait was that he thought he was a coward, and that’s pretty much it for him. His love interest spends 95% either crying or looking worried. They have only really one scene of chemistry together btw. I don’t remember how to spell his name, so I’ll nick name him the “best friend”. The best friend character was mega annoying, stupid, and unfunny. He definitely was the most egregious part of the movie for me. I actually cheered when he died in the final act. All the characters seems too unnatural to me as well. After Godzilla, oh I’m sorry, “Gigantis” and Anguirus destroy Osaka, the next scene, while at first sad, they all suddenly start jovially laughing at a dumb joke the best friend guy said. Their city has just been destroyed and millions of people have died, they should be traumatized, not laughing! A positive thing I can say for this movie is that I think the model sets for Osaka are good. I can’t say that for the monsters though. Both look like they were made with paper mache by some kindergartener who failed art class. Godzilla especially doesn’t look good, he kinda looks like Grover from Sesame Street. Their fight is alright, it cool to see a realistic animal-like fight, it’s just too bad it had to be sped up. The third act isn’t very interesting either, it’s just them dumping ice on Godzilla. Overall, not a good film, but I’m gonna give it two stars because nothing is bad to the extreme. I would have given it one star if all the bad qualities were amplified, but everything is just kinda meh here. So, as I said, 2/5.

@Xenowarrior You are 100% correct. It is indeed Godzilla falling from the sky. Ghidorah must be pretty darn powerful to pull that off. That explains the super heated Godzilla in the IMAX trailer. This movie is going to be phenomenal.
What I want to know is this... the kaiju coming out of the ground in the oil field... is being referred to as a spider... why ? It could be a giant scorpion. Know one other than the makers of this movie... actually know what it is. So why call it before you know ? WB owns rights to a giant scorpion already and could easily put it in the monsterverse.

Titan of Water I'm a bit late, but thanks for the review. But what I meant was that I thought it was some sort of reaction/commentary livestream that the entire Kaiju Kommunity can join.
It's been confirmed by someone in production that that in King of the Monsters, while he's in his burning form he will use atomic pulses rather than a heat ray.

@Godzillatheking123 Yes, it is Godzilla falling from the sky. Since the 2nd trailer we have all wondered what is falling from the sky. In the beginning I thought it was Ghidorah, but in this final trailer it turns out to be Godzilla himself. When you pause the video, than you can see Godzilla's spines that is glowing blue of his atomic breath. Probably Ghidorah lift Godzilla up and they fought in the sky and Ghidorah later dropped Godzilla. It's like that scene from Pacific Rim where Gipsy Danger killed Otachi. Kind of inspiration of that movie.

Gmkgoji That's what I thought too, but I didn't want to assume (so as to not insult somebody by assuming all Japanese cities are the same). If it really is in Tokyo, however, then that will be shocking.

I think it will get about 800 million at the boxoffice because this is getting way more attention then skull island and 2014 godzilla

While we've essentially figured out the general plot beats and specific scenes that will take place within them, I like how everyone is still so very excited for this!

So that's Ghidorah's plan. Usurp Godzilla's throne so he can rampage and destroy the Earth unopposed. I don't think that's been done before. I don't think any monster has actually, literally challenged Godzilla for his throne before. This is going to be great. I think the trailer did a good job of hyping us up without revealing too much. I can't wait for this movie!
