Dougherty actually knew that Godzilla deserved more than 10 minutes, unlike what Gareth did.  Kong: Skull Island totally nailed everything but KOTM just was better.  Effects, stakes, camera shots, everything but I do say that KOTM had major flaws.

I'll say this much, even before Godzilla: King of the Monsters was released I said I had more faith in Wingard than I did Dougherty.

After the mess that was Godzilla: King of the Monsters, I'm cautious-to-cautiously optimistic, but not expecting much. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, well...

There's a lot of ways to go with this without being transparent--Radiation could play a factor in decreased birthrates, thus where ever Godzilla has attacked those specific areas could be affected. It could be a situation where the elderly are the only ones left to stand up against Godzilla and other countries are unwilling to help. (Which is true. No other countries are concerned about Japan's population issue.) There could be a systematic reduction of the population based on each attack from Godzilla...

The possibilities are endless from a screenwriter's perspective, but it won't work if the story and vision isn't there.

Once again seeing the overly used blue and orange color tones. Atleast this time its not overwhelming. One thing to note, Kong has the scratch marks in the poster, but in the trailer he doesn't in this scene that takes place. Wonder if this is the battle that he gets the scratch marks on his chest. Spoilers lol

You could make the rest of the movie about the youth being left behind to fend for themselves maybe? Like how so many men died on the titanic cause the women and children came first?
