You know in a perfect society, I wish Cellphones and other devices would be confiscated before the start of the film then given back after the movie is over, so people can't do that.

IKR, I hate when people do that, I actually started a thread on here about that exact subject.

kongs poster has red splats of paint on it. foreshadowing?
I think GvK is a really good movie, (i have not seen it yet) but after the quarintine and all of what is happening, we could not demmand more, BUT, one of the biggest problems of the movie is that the people who is watching the movie for cinemas, they record and uppload to youtube, this would not be bad if the tittle totally describes what happens.

Wow! 2 in a row.

Some cool graphics.
literally!! it was fine during the movie but listening to it later was so,, depressing? godzillas theme in gvk is a constant tease of the recognizable introduction without leading into the rest of it. Kong's is fine and fun, but the antagonist deserved better. I was so excited to hear that theme reimagined for a somewhat more 'serious' movie.
Godzilla has always been something that I've been aware of, but it wasn't until Spotify put the original theme on my discover weekly back in 2017 that I started to pay attention. In my first day of film studies class at university I announce KoTM was my favorite movie just to see what the pretentious as hell professor would say, and I spent the rest of the year named 'godzilla girl' (I never did film studies after that semester lol). It's kind of been a downward spiral of working through the old movies/media/studies since!
"the theme isnt orignal its a bunch of chords pretending to be Ifukube."
Pretty much the best description possible.
the theme isnt orignal its a bunch of chords pretending to be Ifukube. It sounds random and not thought out
thumbs up and stuffs
I love electronic music, but its effectiveness depends on what you're trying to do with it. The Godzilla theme here falls flat because it feels so hollow compared to the actual instruments Ifukube used and McCreary used to bring it to life as well.
Electronic music was primarily used for one of my all time favorite Godzilla scores. The difference was it wasn't trying to sound like low-rent Ifukube and created a wholly original theme for Godzilla on its own.
I'm joking, but I find that alot of new new age music don't use real instruments anymore. Atleast, the music i listen to. :(
I want to see a movie studio do an official Godzilla soundtrack that uses portions of his original theme, not enough to feel like its a copy but it brings something new and exciting to Godzilla and his theme...Oh wait
Hey, atleast people weren't turned off from the movie by the music. :)
Uh oh, Gman.i think this is a largely zoomer vs boomer scenario.
You cant deny it, you're just sick of those darn zoomers with their electro-pop music.

"I was expecting a godzilla theme that emulated the one in KOTM but had a eerie or sinister feel to it while Kong had a more or less standard emotional heroic nature type theme."
Maybe you won't be disappointed then. Godzilla's theme is similar to the Ifukube motif, but it's also so close that it makes no sense as to why they wouldn't use his real theme. It sounds like a cheap knockoff of Ifukube's theme.
Kong's theme is certainly the better of the two, certainly heroic at times, but also a little generic. I think the main problem is their themes are brought to life largely by electronics and synth, instead of real instruments.
In some instances large profile, tent pole movies (usually summer blockbusters) are released on Wednesdays.
If a studio believes it can maximize a movie's gross by utilizing a 5 day opening weekend, and there's a high demand for it, they will release it on Wednesday. And in some cases, to alleviate sellout pressure, Wednesday premieres allow the die-hard fans to get in fast while casual movie goers will wait for the weekend.
This was especially true for movies from the 1990s through mid-2000s. Movies like Independence Day, Spider-Man 2, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, The Dark Knight, etc. were all released on Wednesdays. Heck, The Lost World: Jurassic Park was even released on a Monday for a 7 day opening!
In the case of Godzilla vs. Kong, while it doesn't have a lot of hype following the box office failure of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, Forbes has confirmed WB is hyping it as a savior of the movie going experience. WB is opening more theaters for this movie alone. My guess is they're hoping people are starved enough for a theatrical experience that they'll flock to it. As a result, WB has given it a Wednesday release to (hopefully) capitalize on a 5 day release.
I'm not going to listen to the soundtrack until the movie releases here(in America), but hopefully its not...too horrible? I wanted it to surprise me, but by the sound of it, looks like its going to disappoint me instead.

Actually, I'm surprised Junkie didn't use a tune similar to this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=juiULmf-AZ8
Zack Snyder's Justice League, I could understand.
But GVK? I'm not sure....
sonictiger,
That's because McCreary was using Akira Ifukube's theme from the original films. It's not just Godzilla's best theme, it is his penultimate theme.
I wish they just brought McCreary back. This wasn't the right project for Holkenborg.
Meh, I just avoid the fan trailers.
And Bear McCreary should've collaborated with Junkie XL in order to make the score better.
KOTM's Godzilla theme was easily the best Goji theme.
The soundtrack...is fine, I guess. Holkenborg's best work is easily still Zack Snyder's Justice League. I liked how he remixed Hyper Potions in Sonic, and also liked Jia's "theme" in the soundtrack. It's overall a 6/10. I've seen better.
Also, the spoilers come up in fake trailer videos trying to get views, here’s an example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1JM-_YsSfA It’s fake because the thumbnail is kiriyu
Youtube went online in 2005. So luckily we didn't have this problem during the Millennium Godzilla series.
Of course that didn't stop someone from filming Godzilla: Final Wars off a screen and leaking the entire movie online through other avenues.
I agree. Very good
First comment.
I'm really proud of myself for this one...
