Similar to this equation no doubt....
Since I live in Washington I'd love to see some scenes in Seattle. I can just imagine Godzilla stepping on KeyArena and toppling over the Space Needle. Of course the Columbia Center would have to come down too lol. Maybe a scene in Vancouver, BC or Portland as well, let the entire West Coast feel his destruction.
I don't see this plan coming to fruition. Legendary, depending how well this upcoming movie does, will have rights for a while, and I doubt they'd go with a Hedorah style sequel.
That and Godzilla vs the smogmonster came out over 42 years ago with the character going through a lot of changes. To make a direct sequel to that movie with all the time and movies between them would be a joke.
I still dont get his body being purple and he,s not going too resamble as barney But dark purple is okay
So Godzilla is going too get help Hmm i guess Godzilla needs help sometimes
The name is not Deathla, HE IS A SCRAPPED IDEA. Banno said the name was Hedorah, not Deathla. Learn to read.
Better than the shit I draw XD
Okay so he is going too be dark purple
@KYERO, Hmm very good points, ultimately he isnt as powerful as what created him, but shouldn't he be at least close to it? If he is supposed to be a force of nature, and in the end, nature can't be controlled, I thought he should devastating beyond measure. If he isnt as powerful as a nuclear bomb, does that mean, using one will kill him? Or should kill him?
Hmmm... I think Banno is a little too attached to his Hedorah creature.
Godzilla vs. Hedorah in 1970 was an interesting flick, but even Ishiro Honda told Banno that he had "ruined Godzilla" with that movie. It remains a very entertaining piece because of the effects and suit acting, but otherwise remains one of the worst and least popular Godzilla films to date.
I think Banno should give the Hedorah thing a rest already. The toxic pollution of our world has been well established since long before his time and it's not going away anything soon. We know the consequences of it already. Nothing he can do with a sequel to GvH is going to add to our sense of impending dread.
Godzilla's atomic breath is his ultimate weapon, but it's far from being a "mobile nuke."
The attack is nothing more than a concentrated beam of radiation. Deadly? Yes. Mobile Nuke? No. That beam is capable of almost instantaneously overloading the biological systems of anything living that it comes into contact with. If they stay true to the original, it will also have incendiary properties because of the extreme heat that it generates. Given that fact, it will have the effect of a bomb because the explosion will help spread the radiation beyond the point of impact. However, let's look at what the original nuclear bombs were capable of.
The first nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6th 1945. It's total vaporization area measured about one half mile in diameter. Total destruction was within a one mile diameter. Severe blast damage was as far as two miles in diameter. Within a two and a half mile diameter, everything that was flammable and not vaporized immediately ignited and sent blazes running to about the three mile diameter range. Nagasaki was bombed a few days later on August 9th, but received almost identical treatment.
Here's the scary thing though. Physicists estimate that the bombs only used about 1/10th of a percent of their respective total destructive capabilities.
As powerful as Godzilla is, he's nothing compared to the weapons that created him.
The movie will, hopefully, do well and capture his destructive power. However, there is nothing that even the most creative minds can do to alter the fact that the bombs which created Godzilla are infinitely more powerful than the monster himself is. So, this is why his attack is far from being a "mobile nuke," but I understand what you were trying to convey even if it was a little out there.
I definitely want to see an awe inspiring and massively destructive Godzilla as much as anyone does, as I'm one of the most hardcore G-fans out there. But we need to remember where Godzilla's limits are as well because if we lose sight of them, then the monster becomes underwhelming when we see him on the screen. If you compare him to a nuclear bomb, whether you know it or not, you're setting yourself up for disappointment when he makes his debut on screen on May 16th, 2014.
I became a Godzilla fan after watching several movies. My favorite was Godzilla X Destotoyah, which was double sided with Godzilla X Spacegodzilla.
lol i know he,s head is pruple weird
Purple!? he's GODZILLA not barney,he better be charcoal black the color he's always ben.
i think he may have a crocodilian origin (by the way im new here. nice to meet you all)
Listen my brothers I have scene the new teaser trailer and let me tell you HE. HAS. RETURNED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Godzilla looks amassing he is taller than he has ever been and his roar is "sniff" "sniff" "sob" beautiful. I say the leaked teaser tralier and let me tell you it was incredible. Trust me if there is a tralier for godzilla for hobbit and is a pretty big IF then must go see him in all his glory. Because he is back and gareth Edwards has given him an image worthy of his roots.
P. S. if you don't believe me look at the site that had the godzilla tralier on it, it's not there any more but just look and you'll see if I'm telling the truth http://www.movieweb.com/movie/godzilla-2014/trailer
i found their website. they are huge
Don't worry, he will look sexy.
I just hope Godzilla body would be freakin amazing i perfure the colour for the body grey or purple
It definitely was official considering WB brought it down. But that head was photoshopped, don't worry. The real Godzilla look is much more balanced and since the body we saw was art, expect more detail on the actual Godzilla. Trust me it's going to be amazing. What it does confirm though is that the Godzilla movie will be PG-13, since the book that had the cover was a kids book.
@XXSABERBLACKCROW As far as I know yep. Having someone who contacts WB regularly says the company is planning to show off the trailer at the Hobbit is the best lead we've gotten all year. Makes perfect sense, just hope we get a trailer before the week of the Hobbit. It's finals week and the last thing I need distracting me is a Godzilla trailer. :P
the 1998 one was crap no wonder people still hate it
INSTINCTIVEGIGAN@ so your saying we will get a trailer in 2 weeks i just hope your right im dying too see the godzilla trailer!
I truley hope there is one, not that I'll be mad if there isn't...Im just dying to see! lol
Cool find! I certainly hope this is true. I will keep a very close eye on things online and await for the trailer.
Again, excellent work InstinctiveGigan!
Actually as I heard it, after the success of the tv series TriStar tried to make a movie sequel based off of the tv series design. However Centropolis and TriStar had a falling out (not sure the situations that led to this). Eventually the time frame got past the alloted time Toho allowed them to own the rights to make Godzilla stuff.
The script treatment for the 1998 Godzilla sequel can be read here: http://the-american-godzilla.wikia.com/wiki/Godzilla_2
There was supposed to be a sequel, but instead the idea was used for the tv show spinoff that the movie created.
@INSTINCTIVEGIGAN
I posted in an older Godzilla 2014 height topic, and I said that I could see 300-400 feet as reasonable (maybe because I'm new to Godzilla though), so it's nice to see someone else has the same size estimate.
I'm not sure. Like these two said, possibly the spider like Mutos, and a giant Centipede like thing (sorry if they are the same thing, I'm from Jurassic World, I don't know any better),
You can always hope. there should be a trailer a few months before the movie comes out. With a bit over half a year before the movie is released, I'd expect late December, Early January, February at the latest.
Dammit someone needs to give the option to delete comments, I hate repeating the same comment through slow internet.
Well Amazing Spider-man 2 just confirmed it's release date for a trailer on December 5th, so if Godzilla is showing up at the Hobbit, expect a trailer soon.
I wouldn't count on it. Even if there is a lot of evidence pointing towards a trailer in early December, we do not want to be too dissapointed if we don't get anything. We shouldn't expect it for-sure to happen, just as a possaibility.
