True American Godzilla
MemberMothra LarvaeNov-10-2013 9:41 PMI'm expecting a more subtle opening. Mysterious 'seismic' activity even though geologically it shouldn't be happening; fishing vessels go missing after seeing a "massive black iceberg"; etc.

P.S, i would be pretty annoyed if they put the actual title AT THE END of the movie. Thats something alot of these Legendary/Warner movies do.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-11-2013 2:54 AMI can honestly see both opening with action and with origin. It might not happen but I can see it and let me explain why. It's been 9 years since we got a new Godzilla Movie, the movie that would put the G-Man for a nice long awaited rest, "Final Wars." So with the movie coming a decade after the final film of the Millenium Generations, it would be appropriate to start off this new film by reenacting some scenes from the original movie while also showing the presume demise of Godzilla. This would be helpful to newcomers in showing some origin to the creature while also giving a taste of the creature's destructive force.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-12-2013 9:06 PMI would like to see it like the PR opening, but maybe about the first Nuclear Arms race and all the damage it caused. This next part is wishful thinking, but if this movie is linked to the first, maybe seeing the first Godzilla attack Tokyo in 1954, then arrive at present day when the "seismic activity" occurs.

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-13-2013 10:17 AMI guess it will either start with the "everything is nice and quite" route, to contrast the coming destruction, or they will start with something ominous, like a ship being attacked or something, but not show Godzilla yet, and then they would do the "nice and quite" thing.
Either way, we're probably getting the "nice and quite" routine in the begining

MemberMothra LarvaeNov-30-2013 2:27 AMIn my personal opinion. I think it'd be best if it starts off completely opposite to Pacific Rim. If its suspensful, dark and quite realistic regarding Godzilla. A paced start would work best. I mean, I want to see how the world would react to such a thing. A titan sized animal who suddenly appreared would be scary. If its executed right, a slow artsitic start would benefit and not hurt the movie. Im sick of all these, "OK HERES THE ACTION BOOM!" start offs of movies. I want story telling. You can still be epic while having a solid story. Also hearing about some scenes taking place in 54 is a very interesting concept. Im wondering how that will tie in. If we are PROPERLY introduced to the monster, it'll be more spectacular. We could be frightened and love him at the same time. Of course we love Godzilla anyways because we're fans, but thats different. Pacific Rim was a different movie. It's straight forward action was great and all, but I literally did NOT care about any of the characters, or even the monsters really because the origin was forced on in 3 minutes. And how in the world do people "Move on" after a 300 foot monster that took multiple days to kill and decimated cities? lol Like it wasn't a big deal. But that's just me.
