Latest comments by Godzilla fans on news, forum discussions and images!
I've got a page ready to go on this site that will feature the trailer once it's released. It will also feature all your recent discussions from the forums, so look for that on Dec. 10th as well when the trailer drops!
Thanks Kaijusaurus for posting this up as well, I mentioned it on our social feeds and I think people will be really excited to have a set date. (Also, our homepage will feature the old video background of the CC teaser once we know it's okay to post again)
Don,t worry INSTINCTIVEGIGAN hopyfully lengendary and WB don,t remove the trailer from the web
Tuesday?! Dammit, that's the day of my math final. How the hell am I gonna pass with this on my mind?!? Lol
First of all Th roar doesn,t sound like Zilla and second the roar is good i do like it but i wish they could add the 2004 final wars roar too and the 1984 one too but still i like it the worst roar off all is zilla,s
Hopyfully We get too see Godzilla,s True Body and the one that amazon showed it was photo shopped
One quick moment of clarification was that the Return of Godzilla was actually 1984, not 1985. When it was released in America, they changed the title for American audiences to Godzilla 1985. But it's true release was '84.
Anyway!
From what I can hear in the teaser, the roar itself is classic in style but very modern in terms of presentation. There is a bit more of a hiss to it, which is very reptilian, and also a bit more of a groaning sound at the end when it rolls off.
One other thing to note about the roar from the teaser was that it was a proof of concept piece put together by Gareth Edwards, and while he's great with digital effects the sound of the roar was, at least to me as one studying to be a sound engineer, unfinished. There are two to three tones sounding at once during the initial impact of the roar which I can make out, which gives it a rough and unrefined feel. As nice as it sounds, I think the final roar is going to sound a tiny bit different and a little more crisp than the one in the teaser.
Definitely still a good roar though. I'm very happy with where they've taken it so that it's still classic Godzilla but modern enough to fit the new image they're presenting.
Thank goodness, I don't wait as long for the trailer.
YES!!! Finaly a realese date!!! :DD I'm so happy :).
This is awesome. I want the full battle in a movie.
THX KAIJU :D This means the trailer is coming in tuesday
100,000km? So you want Godzilla to be over 62,148 miles tall and Earth's atmosphere only reaches out to about 348 miles at the very most. (And that's including everything beyond the stratosphere.)
Also the Earth is only 40,000km long, so if he's 400,000km long that means Godzilla's body wraps around the Earth 10 times.
So in other words you want Godzilla to be bigger than the planet Earth...
I like how people spit out thes obnoxious numbers and have no idea how big they actually are.
I don't like it to tough..... I kinda like that they have the common roar inside it, but the snarling of a lion and the end like an elephant I do not like..... They try to make him sound more beastly. I didn't like the newer roars to tough either. I like the showa series roars a lot more and I wish they would have kept those with the exception of godzilla 85 aka the return of godzilla. The new one kinda sounds like zilla which to me sounds like an elephant a little...... just my two cents
Maybe at last over 100,000km tall and the length will be about around 350,000km to 400,000km or even much much more bigger !!!!
I remember this question being brought up a lot during the late 90s and early 2000s. The reason I remember at the time was that Toho felt Godzilla was too big for the small screen. They also probably did not want to compete with Ultraman which was extremely popular at the time and pretty much eclipsing Godzilla's popularity.
Then the question was asked, "Why not an anime movie?" Well at the time the Millennium series was underway, so Toho probably didn't want to spend resources on a Godzilla anime that would compete with the live action version of the character.
It didn't matter either way though since the Millennium series was mostly considered a boxoffice failure. And with Godzilla and other tokusatsu dead/dying in Japan today I doubt they'd want to try an anime now.
The fact is, at this point, Toho would rather have someone else do the work for them and make money off the character, ala, Legendary Pictures.
That looks badass and amazing 10 out of 10 for me
Thats a very good point. Why didn't toho make an anime about Godzilla!
Oh god, he is back! But yeah, If Godzilla could crush a muto with his foot, some won't be bad, but a lot could be tougher. But in the newer movies he is shown in some movies only sparing allies. But I think Godzilla will kill his powerful opponent.
ignore the troll above me
I would like the actual atomic breath to have some spread to it, like a cone instead of a ray. That way there's a huge damage field the farther away it's used. Also, I always envisioned the spikes glowing sequentially, like each spike carries the charge from his tail up his spine toward his head, and each spike adds to the charge until it all comes blasting from his mouth.
i image he will be quite ruthless. this is gonna be a take no prisoners type of godzilla. he is not gonna be a friendly guy to anyone
i kind of like it as well but i think it needs some tweaking though. i dont know part of it reminds me of zillas. it also sounds kind of sad as well kind of like he is suffering. i really dont mind that part but im more used to a more vicious roar from godzilla
INSTINCTIVEGIGAN@ yea i guess your right T.rex was terrifying So Yea thete might be a scary sence that will scary the shit out of me
i totally agree. too many zombie and vampire movies and the like. im really hoping this does bring about a sort of kaiju renaissance
@XXSABERBLACKCROW Well remember T-rex from Jurassic Park. He was terrifying and awesome at the same time, no one can deny that. Imagine Godzilla just like that, like we are crapping our pants that he's on screen but we're also having a heart attack and telling the people on screen to get the hell out of there!
"I fear the trailer we are about to be given will be the one about half of us fans already have downloaded to our computers from it's leak a few months back."
Who cares, at least we're given something, that's a million times better than having nothing.
Sorry to be so pessimistic but I've been to a TON of screenings and it is SUPER rare that you get a trailer, let alone multiple trailers or new ones never before seen.
much scare
very creep
many spook
such kaiju
Gigan i dont think Godzilla is going to be that terrifying in the movie but maybe some sence in the movie will get too see him scary but i think the mutos will be for scary then Godzilla
just some funny stuff to lighten the mood just 5 MORE DAYS EVERYBODY!!!!!!
I couldn't agree more. My example was just off the top of my head to be used merely as just an example but I agree that Godzilla should be feared as a force of nature, like when a volcano erupts or a tornado forms in the distance but a million times worse.
Sounds fun but it's be a ridiculously 1-sided fight for the bad guys
Godzilla defines my childhood pretty much so in terms of looks there's not much they could do to him while keeping his basic design that would ever make him look scary in my eyes.
I think the fear should come from the actions he takes. This being said I don't think he should be a cold blood killer, but indifferent to humans as we are to a bug. If he's just this malicious creature going after people then you know that if any1 cones into contact with him they'l lbe dead. Making him indifferent adds suspence. Will they survive? Will he walk by not paying attention? To clarify I'll give an example.
If say "Evil" godzilla goes by a building full of people you know they're dead, but if an indifferent 1 goes by you're not sure. It would be some very emotional scenes showing these people and what they're going through inside the building waiting to see what happens, and you as the audience don't know either. That builds anticipation and is much more surprising in my eyes and scary as to what's going to happen to said people
YES! Thats awesome!
Probably both to be honest. I just made a news post about this and added the recollection from that guy on IMDB as well.
I also mention that the Studio will probably release the trailer online either on December 10th / 11th, to coinside with the theatrical debut, or even earlier! I think Warner Bros. knows it will be an added draw for people who were not planning to see The Hobbit originally - I know I'm in that group. But since the Godzilla trailer will be showing - you can bet I'll be there opening night. So, in a way, their plan worked.
So, I'm expecting it to drop online aither on or around the same date. Regardless - next week you will get to see it. :)
Wait Im confused So the trailer going too come out in the Advertisements Or the trailer will be shown before the hobbit movie will be release?
Thanks! I have noticed he is pretty friendly when it comes to answering questions. If anyone wanted to get more info I wouldn't shy away from asking, he has like 70 followers and responds to almost all tweets. I am considering asking whether or not they kept that train and building shot... It stood out like a sore thumb to me and I feel that this move would really annoy a lot of the fans out there who already saw a rough cut of the trailer during legendary's 4-month marketing coma...
