Godzilla 2014:should it be a sequel to 1954 or stay as a reboot?

So should the movie focus after the 1954 attack on Tokyo and ignore previous installments (like the millennium saga) or do you think the film a should stick as an all new franchise? no know we've havent seen anything yet..... But It's just a personal question....

It's been a reboot this entire time.

That means by definition that none of the other known films are canon, nor are they included in the storyline of the film.

Having said that, there was some information tossed around before that stated we may have a segment devoted to 1954, but what that means is yet to be fully understood. However, regardless of whether we take a trip down memory lane or not, there will not be any references to previous films as this movie is in fact a reboot to the franchise in America.

It's going to ignore all previous installments by definition.
