Indeed. Especially given the Monsterverse's reputation really isn't all that great amongst a lot fans or even general audiences/critics for that matter. In fact a lot of people barely know the Monsterverse is its own cinematic universe. I've run in to plenty of people who didn't even know there were three movies prior to GvK before they watched it.
Additionally, Toho's series have had a better track record of lengthier series, so this entire prediction makes little to no sense.
Honestly, I see the Monsterverse fizzling out after another movie or two. A movie like GvK won't be as successful against a crowded slate, so they're going to need to pivot. I'd say we get two more Kong movies before WB closes shop.
Perhaps they could include Beast from 20,000 Fathoms? Wink wink nudge nudge
I'm fine with this. Like I said, Hollywood seems to, for lack of better word, "get" Kong better. And the movies he's in tend to be bigger box office draws. The Monsterverse could practically live on with Kong as the lead while Toho pumps out some new Godzilla material. (Which may be happening as we speak.)
Besides, it's not like the Monsterverse has to be void of a reptile while Toho gets Godzilla back. WB does own The Beast from 20,000 Fathoms after all. Pretty massive, missed opportunity right there.

Never know they might work together so that they can each make Godzilla movies as it is a big hit with each one having shows in a different year. Toho might say yes since they are happy with the outcomes of all the movies

Actually, it may be a joint plan.
Switching between USA and Japan every two years would be a logical guess? Here's my idea:
2023:
USA - Kong: Hollow Earth (or Son of Kong)
Japan - New Godzilla movie
2025:
USA - Godzilla: Desolation (or whatever they call it)
Japan - Something else Goji-related
and so on...
Food for thought.

Would rather they use another director. Maybe get the guy who directed Kong:Skull Island. I don’t like how Adam made Kong need help in every fight in GvK. Apparently Kong needs backup or he dies. Want someone that will actually make Kong look like he can handle himself just fine without help in a fight. No human interference in the fights.

I really want Biollante. But maybe they can use Destroyah to kill off Goji for a few years and then resurrect him for a Mecha Ghidorah battle...
My idea for Biollante:
Godzilla: Desolation
Godzilla wins, Biollante gets a G'14 like death.
My idea for Destroyah:
Godzilla: Destroyer of Worlds
Godzilla dies, Destroyah wins but is killed by a 2nd oxygen destroyer
Destroy All Titans, Part II (The Titans were decimated by Mecha Ghidorah with major titans Kong, Rodan, Mothra, and Gamera still alive with more titans dying by the day.)
Godzilla is resurrected but the world is in chaos due to the mechaking and so MONARCH resurrects Goji and Gamera will have died to help this process but anyways Monke, Big G, Fire Boi, and Moth stop the robo-ghidorah and they win.
My story pitches.
It would be nice to expand on Kong and Jia's friendship and learn more about that....
