The movie is in post-production. They already finished filming. They even said it in a interview I'm pretty sure

It is a fun theory :) Id be lying if I told you I didnt want to see Godzilla fight Clover(Even though it is clear who would win)

@MIKEZILLA15, because it was just a pre production teaser, a mood piece, the film hadn,t even begun production yet. therefore nothing in it was official, including that monster design, even the design of godzilla has differences from the mood piece, to the actual trailer that contains actual movie footage.

i would consider this for the movie

J.J. Abrams himself confirm in an interview that the bomb at the end of Cloverfield kill the monster long ago.

IDK if you can find a normal priced DVD but if you just want to see a full movie just to google and just  type in (Destroy All Monsters Viooz) and it will bring up the full movie length link. BUT do not click on the download button, just go to the link and on the next page press play.

Godzillahimself@ how do u know that monster won't be in the movie.

the monster from the pre production teaser will not even be in the movie and so any similarities(which i don't see btw) to cloverfield are completely meaningless and irrelivent.

kyero@ now I see your point clover field and that monster are never the same and they r both from 2 different company's and can't mix them into other ones.by the way I'm only new To this site and u don't have to go off yelling at me plus I'm 12 years old. It's not like I know everything.

My favorite thing about the new back plates on G-2014 is the fact that they look VERY mangled and imperfect. The symmetry of the 80's-90's Godzilla looked cool, but it lacked that original "warped" and "natural" feel that the '54 Godzilla's did.

I personally think they look great, and I'm VERY hard to please as a hardcore G-fan.

It's all good! I haven't seen the trailer with the clear image of the monster sadly :/ So I did not know this, do you have a link to it by any chance? The trailer I seen was an extended one with literally just a 7 second viewing of what I posted above

A fun fan theory, but it will never happen.

Before I get into why, I'd like to say something else about the two creatures shown above.

I'm seeing absolutely zero resemblance between the Cloverfield monster and the monster from the teaser. How you can say that with any seriousness, MIKEZILLA15, is beyond me if I'm being brutally honest here.

For one, the monster in the teaser is a thick, insectiod creature with approximately 6-8 limbs that are short, stubby, and end in very clear claws with about five fingers each. It's has a single, carapace like body without any clear divisions between what would be its head, thorax, and abdomen. It's almost like a giant worm or beetle larvae.

Cloverfield is long, thin, gangly, and has about three fingers on each hand which are quite large compared to the hand itself. Not only that, but they bend in very obvious ways that the teaser monster does not. Cloverfield also has clear sections to its body. head, torso, arms, abdomen, legs and tail. It's very easily identified and differentiated form the teaser monster.

Again, I'm being a bit harsh, but "almost looks exactly like the cloverfield monster?" Really MIKEZILLA15? I don't know how you could possibly see that.

And I'm sorry, but I must now confirm for you why this theory will never happen for the 2014 movie.

Cloverfield was developed by Bad Robot Productions and distributed by Paramount Pictures. Legendary had no part in the film, and as such they have absolutely zero rights to the creature. At this stage in the game, this late in post production, it's too late for them to try and get their hands on Cloverfield. They didn't get the rights to it, they haven't tried, and they won't try.

Again, it's a fun fan theory which might make an interesting fanfic if some fan were to write a story about it on a public online writing website, but outside of that it will never take place.

Either way I can't wait for the film! Like it said it was a little theory that popped in my head and I felt the urge to post it! So I did :)

I highly doubt that. Only because the creature in the Godzilla mood piece footage and the Cloverfield monster share almost no similarities. Also, Godzilla is an icon with iconic foes, and for a company to borrow creatures from OTHER movies instead of those actually RELATED to Godzilla would leave a bad taste in the mouth for many people. I am almost certain all the creatures in the new movie will be original.

i see what u mean the creature from the g teaser almost looks exactly like the cloverfield monster.

I think at first they world will see Godzilla as a threat. just like in the original films, Godzilla is still evil but they hint to the viewer that he is the protector of the world by dialog. 

I honestly think this film will ignite the Godzilla fan-base in America. Americans want to see action, destruction, fighting, and well this movie will have all of that. America only has one Godzilla film under it's belt and that's Zilla, and that wasn't even the real Godzilla.  I think this is a new beginning for the king and by no means should they ever stop making movies. Hopefully this will be his rebirth and is only just the beginning of many great new Godzilla films

I honestly don't think Toho would even allow producers of an American remake of the REAL Godzilla to kill him

First choice is the '91 Godzilla from Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah and my second choice is easily Godzilla '84.

I agree with DRU it would be a cool opening to like showing a flashback of 1954 Tokyo, and maybe he disappearances for a time and reappearances in this era. (He attacks Japan then maybe makes it to Amercia. To me if would make more of a monster movie if Godzilla would attack different places then just one set area.) I mean cause if you watch the Toho Godzilla they only refurl back to the 1954 one. Like in the 2000 Godzilla movie supposly me hadn't been seen since 1954. The same way with Godzilla 1985. 

I think it would be cool to have at lease an appearance by Mothra & King Ghidorah. I mean these are probably the most famous monsters next to Godzilla? I watch the trailer again cause I miss the insect legs, but would it be safe to say the insect legs could be Mothra? And saying a spider could be Kumonga (I think that's the spider isn't it)? I mean we like to see new monsters, but it wouldn't be a Godzilla flick without the classic monsters like Mothra, King Ghidorah or Rodan. From the looks of the trailer Godzilla looks like the japanese version. That was one thing I hated about the 98 version was them changing the appearance of him. Hopely Hollywood has learn from it?

i figured he would fight like a dinosaur slashing with his claws and stomping the heads in, so godzilla is a carnivore so he probally fights like a dinosaur but like a 1,0000000000 times bigger so he is going to be sluggish as i assume he will be alot heavier than the japs godzilla as it will also be bigger sso he might slam into his oppent and go in for the kill and snap the enemys neck and if godzilla ate meat he might've ate his dead enemys so this leads me to think this godzilla will also be territorial all of my dinosaur knowledge comes from reading jurassic park so i hope this helps and since it's not the new year anymore happy closest holiday

@BIGBADBEN Mr. Banno is not involved in the Legendary Godzilla, the post you are referring was about him announcing that he would make a Godzilla vs Hedorah sequel, apparently without Toho's involvement.

@RAY BURRBERRY The monster you're thinking of is Dagahra. Deathla was going to be the villain of the 3D Godzilla short film that was cancelled and replaced by Godzilla 2014, which has nothing to do with it in terms of plot. Apparently, it was going to be a monster similar to Hedorah, but with a blood red color, a more human body shape and a skull-like face.

King ghidorah.also can u guys help me I don't know what Godzilla figure to get. To your opinion out of these 2 should I get bandai Heisei king ghidorah or bandai Godzilla 1968?
