Idk, guys. In the interview, Gareth said Godzilla fights like a bear or Komodo dragon. They said they studied those animals extensively watching how they fought and based G's techniques off their techniques. Godzilla isn't going to be fighting a "queen" that's up to his knees. Who knows if there even is a "queen" , or, if there is one, if she'd be the biggest MUTO In the film? Maybe she'd be the biggest arthropod/ insect G fights, but I have a hunch that Godzilla will face something that could match him size-wise. Or else why would they study these two animals so extensively known for close combatting same sized opponents? The Insect Mutos (I'm going by comic con ) will be around the same height at a jet. This speculative queen, who knows? And I truly think there's something bigger Gareth has under wraps that can size up to big G.
May be that building has already fallen.

Well guys if you rewatch the footage, Godzilla is not right next to the building, he's a bit off in the distance. Also, the building itself is on it's SIDE. It's probably COLLAPSED! And also, it's a movie....? Zilla was even worse about changing his fucking size.
Maybe This scene was probably just made for the trailer.
Either way, I frimly believe that the creatures present in the movie will almost certainly have a lower body stature to the ground overall, like most arthropods. The small swarm-like individuals will probably range from around 20-40 feet tall, but be much wider in terms of legspan and whatnot, if they can be dwarfed by Godzilla's foot but still look big to several local human structures. The big momma of them all (unconfirmed but possible as literal) will likely be quite large in terms of sheer mass, "possibly" exceeding that of the Big G, but be set a bit lower to the ground, probably reaching Godzilla's knees or stomach, which, according to recent ideas that Godzilla may be around 350 feet tall, would be about 160-240 feet tall. This is just height though. The sheer mass would probably be quite another deal.
As I've stated in the previous thread which has been pretty mcuh condemned, I'm thinking that 350 feet is pretty close to Godzilla's size at his regular "slouched" posture. However, I believe that if this is indeed a hunched height, then, logically speaking, if Godzilla ever happens to straighten himself up a bit, he'd probably be shown about a head or two taller, which would probably equate to about an extra 30-50 feet of height given his larger head in proportion to the rest of his body, which would allow him to puncture the 400 feet height estimate of earlier days of speculation. Of course, this is all just speculation based on personal perspective, so just take it with a grain of salt till absolute confirmation from Gareth and/or the movie itself.

My estimates are around 656 ft. which is 200 mtrs. exact. But I'm fine with 350 ft. , but, it just seems kinda short. mabye, he's gonna be around 450 ft. . I just wonder. But the size dosn't matter, oh wait it does. But I don't really care how tall Gojira is in this film.
But how tall are the M.U.T.O.'s gonna be is what I want to know.

i agree with Duratok, some of us in this forum need to practice showing a little more respect to each other. seriously, who gives a shit who was wrong and who was right about the estimated height of a fictional character? just because somebody was way off on their estimate does not mean they should be ridiculed and somewhat humiliated for it. i know you were careful not to name names and blatantly single anyone out but in the end, the fact that your estimate is probably closer to the official height does not win you a god damn thing. your an intelligent guy and i have noticed that you tend to choose your words carefully, thats why the tone of your post is so surprising. dont get me wrong, some of the things i read in the forums of this site are certainly eligible to be the object of ridicule, but come on bro, dont be a dick

As Edwards stated, making Godzilla TOO big will take away from his being able to build suspense around him and making him TOO small will make him less imposing. It has a slight effect on the movie but not really. The thing is, I think many G- fans here do not realize how HUGE 350 ft is. Something that is around 350 tall and walking is just...Ridiculous(In a great way). I'll put it like this you guys. I'm sure many of you have seen Pacific Rim. Remember Knifehead? He was 315 ft tall. This Godzilla is hitting 350 or more. His size is just fine.
Too many variables to know for sure. Camera angle, depth of field on shot, artistic choice, Godzilla could be walking over huge mounds of rubble for all we know. With all the smoke and debris who can tell from this shot. Here's a thought let's stop trying to crack the code and continue to be patient and see the movie May 16th 2014. Instead of endless debates about stuff we know very little about. At this point we have hundreds of topics on a film that has barely been marketed and we already have hundreds of discussions on the same tired subjects. It's becoming quite pathetic at this point. Let's wait til we officially know more and see more before we try to analyze and break everything down.

it doesn't. People just wanted him to be bigger i guess. He is huge, but still of a size that could move around inside of a city. Much bigger, and he would get stuck and have a hard time moving around. Something that I'm sure was concidered. Edwards said that the size was carefully concidered, and not random. This, i'm almost postive, would have been brought up.

In regards to the rest of the article, you need to stop harboring such hostilities towards people that think he's significantly taller than he's been before on film. It's rude, unnecessary, and childish. You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar. If you state the facts you have, present them in an acceptable manner, people are more likely to listen to you.
Here's a better question. Why does it matter if this Godzilla is bigger or smaller than Toho's biggest Godzilla? Why does it affect the movie?

I already posted my thoughts on this in the "explain this sh#t" conversation. People are over-reacting, talking like Godzilla is a micro-machine, when in reality, 350 feet is impossibly huge, and the largest Godzilla yet.

How about Avengers battling an invasion and the when a new level of the invasion overwhelms them with giant monsters, we then hear Godzilla's roar, and he joins the battle.

One word: perspective. If you watch the trailer again, as the trooper descends, the building becomes larger than Godzilla as his vision ofthe building becomes parallel with the sight of Godzilla. It's just the angle he's at, that makes Godzilla look bigger.
ya i agree with king_of_zombies@. like the part in the trailer where Ford jumps off the railroad track is probably when he first encountered godzilla. and the halo jump is a dream and turns into a NIGHTMARE
Maybe all the HALO jump scene is just a Ford Brody´s Nightmare about Godzilla walking sleep.
It's still from a very high angle, even as he pass the building going down you can see streets and the tops of other shorter buildings. So it's hard to tell.
Again, I don't think it matters. A lot of Godzilla movies never get the scale right and the '98 movie was the worst offender. As long as it looks good in the movie I don't really care that much and really don't believe his height is that big of a deal.
