i agree with akio, the oxygen destoryer is more than just a man made weapon it is far worse than anything, and really it is a result of experimenting with the forces of nature in this case messing with the powers of oxygen.
i only belive a nuke would injure him slightly but the radiation will give him more power, i would guess the more nukes fired at him, the more resistant he would become. and i'm pretty sure it wont be TOO realistic, that would be absoultly stupid and would be GINO all over again.
that sub in GvsKG had nuclear weapons in it, they planned to use (what they thought was) the godzillasaurus, instead godzilla destoryed the submarine and obviously detonated the nukes onbord, also untill there is a movie where he gets hit by a nuke there is no definate answer, also i'm pretty sure it might hurt him if he was from a distance, becuase of his regenerative powers he willl heal from the burns and the shockwave won't really effect him becuase of his weight.
All I have to say is this:
I watched a documentary about Godzilla. One made by the Japanese creators of the character themselves. In fact I saw it on youtube(I forgot which video it was exactly, If I remember I'll link it here).
The people who CREATED Godzilla took a long moment to explain how they came up with the design and characteristics of the monster. They SPECIFICALLY SAID, "Modern technology does not affect Godzilla". Except the oxygen destroyer which in their case, was not considered modern weaponry because it was a fantasy weapon. So what was modern technology at the time? Missles, tanks, jets, electricity, and maybe even a nuke.
let's just hope it's not TOO realistic
i don't think it was THAT bad , i mean , it was my 1st giant monster movie(at 1st i thought it was my 1st godzilla movie , but then i found out otherwise)
my thoughts exactly
It will make $1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000
In all seriousness, i think if they market it right then it will do better than pacific tim if market it right, i mean lots os people love godzilla 10 ears ago and they passed it to there children and the are the people who watch the movie several times.
I feel it will do well. Not break any records but probably hit the #1 spot for at least a weekend.
If you're really counting on the international market to bring Godzilla up don't look at Japan none of the last Godzilla movies did well there and Pacific Rim was not even in the top 3 for it's box office when it came out. It was China I believe that gave it a lot of it's revenue
I'm not quite sure how the atomic breathe will be, I don't think it'll be vaper though, I think they'll make it blue, and badass, because they want this movie to leave a huge impression. They're not just gonna make his breathe invisible. It'll be a color, full depth, and very destructive. I also don't understand why people are saying he'll be killed by a nuke, he feeds on energy, he was made from a nuke.. it'll just give him more power. Common sense.
Godzilla was radiated in the 1970s by a Russian sub, he just absorbed more radiation in 1992 when Ghidorah took place once again didn't get subjected to a nuclear blast in 1992 just radiated by that, totally different. Blast doesn't equal radiation given off by it, a blast inludes the heat and kinetic energy radiation does not. And yes when debating about something that isn't known I will use logic to find the basic idea of what I believe which includes Godzilla. I hate when people can't prove a point so they throw out logic in an attempt to possibly justify their answer.
Sorry dude but none of us can see it:(
that's not what im saying @jordan swickard, thats what others are saying (you must know who they are) what i'm saying is that people are taking the realsim out of context, i can dig the feet and the gills(unless they really are scales) but the big thing is that some like kyero say that 'will' be a the breath from the early showa (the superheated vapour breath), which is stupid to consider since that is the cheapest form of sfx.
when i was in elementary school , they had a trendmasters godzilla figure , at 1st i thought it was a t rex , then some1 told me it was godzilla , thenlater on , i saw godzilla 2000 on sale at a dvd store and i bought it and watched it , and i loved it , and i've been a fan evur since
also unlike spiderman, godzilla is released internationally around the same time,14th-16th, wheres spiderman is spanned across 2 weeks before or after the US release date.
Just so you know, it's 2014, CGI and visual effects came a long way, it will be the most realistic Godzilla to date, and this movie does show bodies.
It's not 2004 anymore.
you kind of did but i see your point, i'm pretty sure the realism is the humans, that's why godzilla needs good acting, if the humans can give a good perspective then the movie will be better than having a movie focused just the mosters.
yeah but unlike spiderman and xmen who are mostly recgogized and appeal to audiences in the west, godzilla is known and appeals to anyone outside of the west and japan unless to is not like i find it unlikely it won't do well.
I would believe that the movie will do better than Pacific Rim, but not as much as getting a billion dollars internationally, probably close to it.
Sometimes I think, "if the destruction affects humans realisically in this movies, why not show people dieing from getting squished by rubble, or falling off of buildings or even guts spitting out?" Maybe I went too far...
i'm sure it will do better than pacific rim, there marketing has been ok, and i'd say it may break records in terms of the internation box office, you got it released in europe, south america and asia and he is famous internationally and also you got japanese box office in july, so i'd say +$1,000,000,000 internationally.
yeah, that's exactly what people should be thinking when gareth edwards said that this movie would be realistic, and why would you pick cheap special effects for the atomic breath(the concentrated radioactive steam) it may seem realistic but with a movie with a high budget and lots of special effects the general audience is going to find that a stupid move.
yeah and the heisei godzilla was made from modern nuclear weapons, what caused the crater if he wasn't caught in a nuke sized explosion and are you really trying to use logic on godzilla.
I think it will be the same as Pacific Rim, unless WB decide to market it early.
Oh look a link I can't use.
"Talaghan" is actually hoaxed name, but we could get used to calling the centipede monster as we'd like. Anyway, Godzilla would win. No doubt from that, most likely because of that shot of Talaghan laying dead. However, there could be some possibilities that Godzilla was beat up during the fight.
great anouther who is the most powerful monster? thread that has destoryah invloved.
Can someone point out the eyes to me? I can't see anything!
OMG this is an awesome idea mate! congrats!
that is 1 hell of an awesome idea! well done! :D
dude talaghan isnt real. it was proven to be fake and the guy who said this stuff was banned for being a troll. anyway i really dont see any eyes or anything.
