Come on dude at this point no one knows jack about this movie. It's all speculation and rumor as of now.
Dragonlord TevinGodzilla 2014 Forumdoes anyone know if godzilla will have his regenative cells?Feb 6, 2014Reply
He probably has slow regenerative healing, but I do want him to have a powerful healing factor like Wolverine and Hulk, more like Hulk you know, with the tough skin and healing factor, making Godzilla almost unstoppable
Dragonlord TevinGodzilla 2014 ForumDude, they've got to be making a sequelFeb 6, 2014Reply
Lol the Transformers sequels are excuses for more money, and I do hope godzilla doesnt turn that direction if it ever gets sequels you know, making an unnecissary sequel just for more money.
Which wont happen I believe, and I get what ur saying, ur right, Edwards should just focus on the main project and then think on to the second project after
LinkzillaGodzilla 2014 Forumdoes anyone know if godzilla will have his regenative cells?Feb 6, 2014Reply
Well, considering that he will apparently get battle damage in the film, I'd say I'd say I'm about 75% sure that he will have his regenerative powers, since he's supposed to go back to being an unstoppable force like the original in this film, and he wouldn't seem all that unstoppable if he got injured and didn't heal from the wound.
G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 ForumDude, they've got to be making a sequelFeb 6, 2014Reply
Hard to tell how Edwards is approaching it at this point. Some directors have a whole slew of ideas planned out, others don't even think about their next movie until their current one is finished.
Take Christopher Nolan, for example. When he did Batman Begins he didn't think he'd be doing a sequel. He had no ideas planned and the Joker card at the end of the movie was nothing more than a friendly nod to the fans. At most, he thought someone else might take over the sequel. But when it was over he was focused on The Prestige and The Prestige only. Even while he was filming The Dark Knight he didn't think he would be doing another Batman movie. He thought that would be the last for him as well.
Even Michael Bay has that attitude for the Transformers movies. He ended the first movie with Megatron's death and wrapped everything up in that movie's story. Sure, there's always the hope that these movies will be successful and spawn sequels, but that doesn't always mean director's are planning ahead. In a lot of cases director's don't even think they'll be back for a sequel.
Now there are exceptions... Marc Webb had The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and 3 planned out when he was working on the first one. Things may change if the new one flops (unlikely) or if Sony wants to go a different direction and not ask him back (also unlikely), but he's planned it out for better or for worse.
The point is there are probably more exceptions than rules when it comes to directors planning ahead. I don't think Edwards has a plan for sequels, personally. He strikes me as a person who remains focused on the project he's working on and if a sequel happens he'll worry about it then. In truth, the movies that follow that kind of work ethic end up being better films. Stories that are planned ahead over a span of several movies tend to be weaker: The Star Wars prequels, the first two Pirates of the Caribbean sequels and so far the Amazing Spider-Man movies aren't winning me over either...

Dragonlord TevinGodzilla 2014 ForumDude, they've got to be making a sequelFeb 6, 2014Reply
Lol ok guys I was in a rush writing this topic and couldnt include anymore so GMAN2887 yeah its true, I suppose some do just think a little of a sequel idea for fun sometimes, but mostly I believe directors and those people already thought of their ideas because their movie is capable of leading to another part.
U get what I mean, like you know how theres movies out there that dont have sequels, and just to assume, some directors or story scripters didnt really make a sequel idea for fun because there movie is an ABSOLUTE conclusion that doesnt lead to anything.
So I believe the new Godzilla movie wont have an ABSOLUTE conclusion yet and yes I do believe in a sequel to happen.
BAVOC Yeaahhhhh good find, Godzilla begins you know, and cmon we all know Godzilla cant just have one movie when made lol Godzilla's never meant for only ONE movie cuz has had 28 movies and I dont expect Legendary to just make a single Godzilla movie for a REBOOT.
Yeah, I highlighted REBOOT because reboot means something like a remake of a series, and a series should idk never be remade to only ONE movie. So sequels for Godzilla I believe
BavoGGodzilla 2014 ForumDude, they've got to be making a sequelFeb 6, 2014Reply
Well, I've got no real proof or anything but........ With a tag line like "The world ends and Godzilla begins" youd think this was the launch of a new Godzilla franchise...just sayin

Yes they do. All the time. He was just mentioning a possible idea. I wouldn't look into it too far.
G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla: Only one movie?Feb 6, 2014Reply
@BigBadBen
Banno got the rights to use Godzilla and Hedorah after Final Wars, but Toho told him they wouldn't fund or produce it. Since then Banno has actively tried to find funding for Godzilla vs. Hedorah 2 for the last 10 years. No one wanted to do it, except Legendary, but they wanted to make their own Godzilla movie. Godzilla vs. Hedorah 2 will most likely never happen and if it is made it will be an independent production. Not a Toho production.
@Godzilla1990'sRules
As of right now this is the last movie between WB and Legendary. However, right now, if a sequel were to be greenlit it could only happen if WB and Legendary agree to work together again. This means that both studios may have to renegociate their rights with Toho if they want something to happen differently. Toho is the parent company in the Godzilla agreement and they have to okay everything.
G. H. (Gman)Godzilla 2014 Forumdoes anyone know if godzilla will have his regenative cells?Feb 6, 2014Reply
Godzilla did not have regenerative capabilities in the original film. That trait wasn't put into the Godzilla canon until 1989 with Godzilla vs. Biollante.
That said, I hope he doesn't have it and he's simply tough, like the Showa Godzilla.

Nobody knows. However, if he is to have his RegeneratorG1, it will be a slow process of healing. Since it sounds (by the figure's description) he will get beat up pretty badly, and he may stay that way for awhile.

As much as I hate saying this, ill have to agree with you KYERO but only about the MUTO"S eye thingy.
Guys where do you see the eye? Ive studied the shot tons of times too and I see no damn eye. Dont mistaken something because of the shape or lighting.
All I see is some purple thing where you all think its the gum of the MUTO's mouth, as when I thought its a tongue but nobody's sure yet. And can someone please snapshot a pic of the train wrecking scene and CIRCLE the eye so you can prove that there was an eye?

banno DIDN'T say he was making a GvsH2, he said he would LIKE to, also what gives him a right to make a sequel of one (although dark) 70's cheesy godzilla movies, there are other godzilla movies that deserve a sequel more than hedorah. also his idea is just the worst idea for a modern godzilla movie.

you do realize that mr.banno is planning a godzilla vs hedorah 2 right? but you make good points im not even going to argue about that because final wars even though i did enjoy it a little they still done nothing with him

Negociations for Godzilla's future can be discussed after the movie if it does well. Right now I'm not even concerned about it. I'm more concerned about this movie and if it's even worth having a sequel to. All signs point to yes, but lets not jump the gun anyway. One film at a time.

Not too sure what the significance of all this would be at this point. Things like this can change at any time as we continue forward. Right now, there is only one movie planned, but if it does well enough I see no reason why Legendary will not pursue further installments with Gareth at the helm. He's clearly got plenty of ideas to work with, and as an avid Godzilla fan we know he'll treat the Big-G right.
I say wait and see. Once the movie's come out and we know for a fact how well it's done, it likely won't be long before we find out exactly what Legendary has planned for the big guy.
KyeroGodzilla 2014 ForumM.U.T.O. Creature Missed in Godzilla Trailer?Feb 6, 2014Reply
I've told people this a thousand times and they still don't get it.
The trailer is unclear about what it is showing.
There are no eyes, I know because I've checked on my 1080p copy at full brightness and color and did everything I could to adjust it so I could see perfectly what was going on literally frame by frame.
There are no eyes in that shot, only a long and sharp part of the MUTO's body ripping the train apart. It could be a leg, an arm, a claw, or anything at this point. The fleshy patch doesn't actually confirm anything regarding what part of its body it is. For all we know it's webbing in between claws or something.
The MUTO's body has not been glimpsed in full, nor has its face in any way. The whole "eye" bit is nothing but a trick of the lighting, as even with full brightness and full color and a bit of extra contrast, I saw nothing beneath that tiny "eye" shadow mark. Just more flesh. No eyeshine, no pupils, nothing.
If you want to see the MUTO's and if you want to know exactly what that trailer is depicting, you'll have to wait like everyone else to find out what it is for a fact rather than jumping on random speculative bandwagons. That's always a mistake.

Maybe I'd like to hear a MUTO roar or screech or something. I absolutely do not want to see the full body of G or any of the Mutos. The silhouette shots are more attention grabbing than a blatant full reveal. Because you're going to want to go back and rewatch the silhouette in slow motion and let your mind wander and imagine as to what lays behind that dust and smoke. And that is the ultimate goal of a marketer. To have you return to the video and watch it again. And please, "preparing for battle"? What is this? LOTR?

WOW.
I have never cared for Godzilla toys, statues or simmiliar collectibles but this thing is freaking awesome! That kind of movement is gorgeous!
Only problem is that the pricetag is probably about 500.000 (well, about 230 dollars actually) dollars or something :\
Oh well, thats what i get for being a teacher with low payment and having to spend money on my wife and kids. Maybe i should replace them :). (Im being sarcastic of course)
