Well, that is not the only source. According to a fellow member named Joshua Hopkins, another source is saying the same thing. Here is the link to the thread:
This seems too well thought out for a message board post... I agree with all the above, well said.
i agree with you 100%, there was no need for everyone to get angry over 'no godzilla superbowl teaser', really i don't care if there isn't a trailer next week or even this month, all i want is a new poster or something new like updating the MUTO website.
I have my doubts about this theory, but it is an interesting one to contemplate.
The likelihood of this Serizawa bearing any actual relation to the one from the original Gojira is astronomically low. The casting and the name was more likely to have been a simple nod of respect to the original to include at least one original character. No doubt Legendary had to pay out the ass to Toho to get the right to use that character's name in usch a fashion, or at least let them know ahead of time that they had it planned out.
Still, I doubt very much that this Serizawa will hold relations to the 1954 character.
You know...
If I'm being perfectly honest, I don't ever recall anyone ever giving half a rat's ass about what happened before the trailer's release once the trailer came out. Once the first trailer came online, everyone instantly focused 100% of their attention on the trailer and completely ignored everything which came before.
I have no reason to believe the same won't happen here. People are complaining and arguing back and forth about the trailer's release date, who's got the best sources, the legitimacy of leaked images, and more. Yet once the trailer hits the web/theaters, everyone's going to forget all of this and start doing exactly what they did last time.
They'll focus 100% of their attention on the trailer.
So is this thread truly relevant anymore, let alone the very topic of whether or not the trailer dates are legitimate? Once it hits the web it's not going to matter anymore anyway because we'll all be able to watch it and enjoy it and nobody's going to care about any of this bickering once it's here.
Honestly...
(double posted for some reason)
I'm fairly certain Hawaii is being portrayed as hawaii... I'm fairly certain they filmed extras that actually live there in Hawaii... with ya know... the modern buildings and all the caucasian extras.

I can understand that logic, like trying to explain that the Fantastic Four movie isn't set in the same universe as The Avengers, or that the new Spiderman movie wasn't a prequel to Sam Raimi's spiderman, or trying to explain to my uncle that the new star wars movies were prequels and not sequels (something he still doesn't understand).
No, Hannibal is from another forum. He also emotes more than Kyero.
Ambiguous might be too big of a word for some people here to understand, Akagi. But you're dead on about everything so I hope your voice is heard.
Five bucks says Hannibal is Kyero-- but then again, hes not posting giant walls of text so maybe not.
Both Godzilla 2000 and Final Wars were originally planned to be continuations of the Heisei series but the concepts were both scrapped.
Kitamura said he liked the idea except that the Heisei Godzilla series represented everything he hated about Godzilla (over emphasis on politics, little action or as he stated "I don't want to watch two men sitting around smoking a cigarettes discussing how to kill Godzilla"-- thus why he avoided the concept all together.
If we are basing Final Wars on its opening scene, then technically every Godzilla movie happened and was some how linked into the continuity-- which isn't the case.
There were a lot of odd ideas were thrown back and forth for Godzilla 2000, including Godzilla being Jr and fighting Showa monsters like Anguirus-- these were scrapped as well.
But Godzilla 2000 was made purposely ambiguous, as the producers thought if they had low emphasis on Godzilla's origins it'd be more marketable, and for that reason alone I believe all the fan speculation of Godzilla 2000's origins sprung forth. There are even non Godzilla fans who thought Godzilla 2000 is a sequel to Godzilla 98.
On the same page, Final Wars is also very ambiguous as well for the same marketing reasons.
^Hannibal,
I guarantee everything you said has gone right over their heads. Another member named Kyero has tried the same thing time and time again. Save your energy. You'll live longer. And prosper.
^Toho simply wanted to go in a different direction. The Heisei storyline was over and there wasn't much more that could've been done with it. No point in dragging it out further, especially since the Millennium series proved to be more fruitful for overseas markets.
You mean aside from the fact that there's no hard evidence besides a bunch of people with super-sekret sources, shoddy photoshops, and an extensive groupthink mentality that SURELY THERE MUST BE A TRAILER NEXT WEEK?
imagine how much it would cost
Okay HannibalBarca, what proof do you have that nothing will happen. I also see that this is your first post on the Godzilla forums, so I am wondering how reliable you are.
Haha, you guys are gonna be so disappointed when nothing happens next week.
i think the 1954 scens will include the bikini atoll hydrogen bomb which leads to the Lucky Dragon incident, i also belive that this new serizawa has no link to the original, it maybe just a homage/reference to the original, the 1954 scnes maybe like serizaw's childhood flashbacks or it is some of godzilla's or the MUTOs origins.
hey... yeah i didnt think of that either 96 days and counting down still my friend
maybe a fictional hawaii tribe/clan belive in a god of destruction called gojira/godzilla, i'd prefer that than to odo island
i agree with godzillafan1995 on his comment but lets not forget that radiation is still a very strong threat to the world even today just imagine all nuclear missles firing at the same time hitting every island, town, and country at the same time the world ends and godzilla rises lol
yeah but lets not forget here godzillafan1995 that this godzilla in this film is suppose to be the original thats what got me thinking that they could do that with hawaii
i feel like i am seeing the original,1984/85, and probably a little of the 1991
this isn't a remake of the original, it is a completly different godzilla story i'm pretty sure hawaii will most likely still be hawaii. the dr serizawa may only be a reference/homage to the original serizawa, it will not be a remake, a reboot is different and is a better option.
Well...
I dont really read Godzilla comics, but i hav read a few, including the first issue of Rulers of earth. And out of those i have read, its probably the one that seems least interesting
(In case anyone cares about which i have read, its the first issue of half-century war, and a few issues of Kingdom of Monsters, and i have the paperback of Legends)
yeah you make a good point there godzilla3580
Actually, it may be possible that it is going to be an island like Odo island. That would be pretty cool, but I doubt it. They can't make this movie exactly like the original, but something like what happened on Odo island might happen in this movie.
Dudes, that thing is almost tall enough to ride some roller coasters. WOW, that must cost an arm and a leg. If I had that kind of money, I would buy it and I would play with it every day. Can't wait to see it, though.
YEEESSSS!!!! I CANT WAAAIIIIITTTT!!! This is looking to be one of the best Godzilla movies ever an I have been waiting for it for ten years. I can't wait any longer!!!
At least its only a couple of days until everything gets started because 96 days is too long!!!!
very cool and my vote of course was also 10/10 someone on ebay though has three different godzilla 2014 t-shirts for grabs and they include the san diago comic con poster, the poster with only his tail and helicopters around the tail, and the halo jump poster
same here but with grude match i saw it then it was the same one with the halo jump and the audience here in my hometown was and i saw this with my own eyes... had goosebumps on their arms and necks. also the roar was very much more haunting and bone chilling in the theather than it was on the youtube video it had more of a rolling thunder voice effect to it which was much better in sound for the roar they went with
no i wonder why they didnt give godzilla jr a debut film after destroyah kind of wish they would have but they chose not too
yeah i agree with godzilla himself we are probably talking about 1000-3000 bucks here for something like that as much as i would love to own something that huge i just dont have enough money to spend on something like that still cant wait to see it though
GMAN2887
I wrote that before he added anymore information...all he had was the picture....
my most memorable game was save the earth on ps2. i would play matches against the computer or make my friends play it even though they hated godzilla (plus i always won). This one was the most memorable one, but the one i loved to play the most was definitely godzilla unleashed for the wii. It was so much fun and to this day i still regret trading in my wii just because of this one game
