Awesome, I am definitely getting this game.
I like the name, but question its authenticity. The same reports that use that name also call Ken Watenabe's character Honda even though his character has long been officially confirmed as Serizawa.
I just re-watched the movie again,so my opinion is fresh......
Yes! It is a completely shitty movie! People making excuses for it are wrong! Better than some Toho movies? I would love to see what Toho could do with $130 million dollars. Remember all the Toho Movies are made on the cheapish side.
This was a bad movie, plot holes that are huge (burrowing monster that can't get into a tunnel?), bad acting (Maria pitillo), unoriginality, (raptors) and a egotiscal team that had no respect for the source material and completely misunderstood the reasons why there would even be a demand for a Godzilla movie 44 years after the original. I equate it to two guys who just had a hit movie looking at each other and saying "I know, lets make a Bond film, but instead we will make him fat and from Texas beacause we know whats cool and beside I always thought the original 60's Bond films were a little campy! Just slap the Bond name on him and people will come."
Sounding bitter? not really, I believe it is simply the only true classic giant monster flick (Cloverfield was more art school take) that people have grown up on. So this smelly coil is their what they are comparing everything else on. Oh, to those who said it made money, the movie was techincally successful but it wasn't a hit. It did its buisness here in the States in the first two weeks befor word of mouth got around and according to Steve Ryfle the movie disappeared from US theaters very quickly.
Bottom line....it was because of that crappy movie that we have had to wait SIXTEEN MORE YEARS... for another Godzilla to have another shot on the big screen. Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Oh yeah and G2014 definately has gills very clear now.
Went to TOYS R US got there as soon as they opened and...............no G2014 merch just the older bandai godzilla stuff soooooooo i had to ask if they had it and they did but all they had was the deluxe distruction pack, tail smash G,body smash G and the electronic fire blast G*sad face*,so i bought the tail smash and deluxe distruction city set, tail smash G isnt great but was better than nothin more like a 5" happy meal toy sooo unless your desperate(like myself) dont bother shelling out 15$ for it,sooooooo yeah expect the same you guys but its only the first day more merch is on its way out over the next few months(hopefully).
anyone else pissed off by the look of the JAKKs mega sized toy comapred to the 24 inch H to T NECA figure in terms of the detail
also, a couple people are saying that the eyes on the painted neca 12 inch are cartoony, i actually like that look, it makes him look kind of menacing in my opinion.
Dude these figures are freaking AWESOME!!!! i love the look of the new NECA figure and i love the chibis. I plan on drving down to toys r us today after school. i'll make a video of my reaction and show you guys the stuff on the shelves. but can someone tell me how to post a video from my phone plz? cause even posting a pic is still a tiny bit confusing.
Yes, as some posters already pointed out, what is realistic is the human (and government) reaction to the monsters, not the actual monster itself. I mean, a 365 foot monster that breaths atomic rays out of his mouth? Come on, that is scientifically impossible.
Actually the whole use of word "realistic" here is somewhat misleading, since you are talking about what would happen if a real kaiju attacks a city. Perhaps "plausible" is a better word. What is the most likely or plausible reaction that governments and people would take in response to a giant monster attack.
Talking about the '98 version yet again? Come on guys, give this topic a rest.
But if you really want to know, yes I despised it. Not because everyone said so or its "hip/cool" to hate the 98 version. Its simply not a good movie in my opinion. There are exceptions and second opinions, but sometimes, a movie that is universally hated really do mean it actually sucks.
Yes, I didn't like the deception. They called it "Godzilla" when the monster clearly had nothing to do with the "real" Godzilla. Instead, what we got was a generic (and weak) monster-of-the-week you see on power rangers. . But more than that, the plot just stank. As others have said, it rip-off Jurassic Park and it sorely wasted the talent of Broderick.
Can someone confirm for me, is the NECA model the one most closely resembling the actual look of Godzilla 2014 out of all the toys we know so far? The JAKKS 3ft model is the biggest, but the spikes/fins on JAKKS's Godzilla look a bit too small compared to the NECA model.
you're not alone i like it too, i mean sure it didn't look like godzilla, it didn't shoot fire, over all i thought it was fun to watch 7.5/10
I'm lovin' the NECA's!
Loving this merchandise. Is this all that will be released or will they do clothing and things later?
I really wanted to like this film. I waited for it for years. I was there on opening day with such high aspirations. But when it was done, I left confused and put off. For a time, I tried to convice myself that I kinda liked it. But honestly, I don't. In fact, not even close. I find no redeaming qualities in it and it's borderline insulting.
Now, I can see how if this was your first Godzilla movie, and you have no frame of reference, you might like it because you had no pre-concieved notion as to what Godzilla should be. But I saw the '98 Godzilla when I was in my twenties, and had a fully formed opinion of Godzilla based on the most beloved movies of my childhood. If you are young, you can't understand that. If you're older and liked it for whatever reason, then okay, to each their own.
It's been on cable lately, so I thought it might be fun to watch with my kids. It wasn't. Honestly, I can't even sit through it, for all the same reasons that have been debated for years.
Don't give me a veggieburger and try to tell me what a great hamburger it is.
Idk, something looks "off" about him but I can't really tell what it is
The movie wasn't bad, the title was what was wrong with it.
If you go on Toys R Us.com they have these
Go onto Toys R Us.com and they have all of these.

First off, THESE ARE COOL! All are great, especially the NECA American Godzilla figures! Last night I found the following *possible* Godzilla merchandise, now I say possible because the site I found them the person neglected to say where he found them... though they look legit.

HOLY SH**!!! I want this 24inch NECA Godzilla and the chibis!!! *O*
I think people need to understand just how much work went into creating the miniatures and the suits. Those suit actors passed out on the regular from the weight and the heat. The miniatures were painstaking recreations of real locations right down to the billboards. If you look at the films from the nineties and early oughts, the SPFX work is fantastic. They paid real attention to scale and the computer compositing is excellent. The mechanisms they put into the creature's features were also very advanced.
It's easy to look at those movies and go, "Yeah, that's a toy boat," but appreciating how far they pushed a $15,000,000 to $20,000,000 budget on those movies to do what was considered impossible when the first film was made is to recognize a real cinematic achievement.
Any word on when you will be able to pre-order the Sideshow statue? It's going to be hard to save my money and bypass the rest, hopefully it will be worth it.
Wow that looks really good @KingZilla. Good job. Now I can get an idea of what the 24" Godzilla will look like. Thx
Thank you and how festive to have an Irish (in the film) monster.
OK I just painted the NECA 24" figure in Photoshop, here's my version of the final render what you think?

@Evan123
Not even sure Sidedhow has finished their sculpts yet? Unless someone knows for sure they have-- I'm going to assume we haven't seen them yet because they aren't finished with them.
@Gman
Even though I agree with you completely-- I still stand by my opinion that most 'fan visions' of what Godzilla is-- are even further away from what Godzilla is/was than this film. At Godzilla's core, his very fundamental truth-- it is still a monster flick, regardless of whatever deep bs meaning people use to justify their fandom. I feel like too many fans try to 'dig deep with a toy shovel'.
But honestly, as far as Emmerich and Delvin's works go, its one of their better films. I find pretty much all their movies to be so painfully formula its disgusting.
Smart guy: Something bad is about to happen everybody! LISTEN!
Everybody: lol u don't know what you talk about smart guy
Bad thing happens.
Everybody: SAVE US SMART GUY!
Smart guy: lol told you so.
That is literally, 90 percent of everything they've worked on together or seperately.
Yay....and thanks. Sorry for the ignorance and happy st.Patricks day ðŸ€ðŸ€
