I guess my godzilla would be the same as MV Godzilla, but able to control the ocean. Like when he comes out of the ocean, he could control the waves and whatnot.
Oh cool you read my Gojiverse or Rise of the Kaiju?
Wait, does Scified censor the scientific name of the beetle Nosoderma diabolicum?
That's not what I expected.
When I have time to finish writing it, I would like to share a draft of a "Goji-Verse", so I respond based on what I get to write:
• What would it look like?
Generally speaking, I would like a look that combines BioGoji, DougheGoji, and KiryuGoji, Shodai Goji's thumbs up, and GMKGoji's white eyes, in the form of Nictitating Membranes.
• What are its Origin's?
Its origin is difficult to explain briefly, but it would be a pre-lunar being (Hadean eon), the last Godzillasaur, to whom "Mothra Prime", the first Mothra, the resurrection of all the Gigamoths killed by King Ghidorah in the first of his seven attempts to metaphorically devour the Earth, he named "Protector of Nature". When I can share what I am writing, they will understand better.
• What are its powers?
My Godzilla is a living nuclear reactor, which works from the fission of Uranium 235, which gives it great power when it comes to moving, which gives it great ability in close combat, but if we talk about its powers, his biological reactor endows him with the destructive power of the Atomic Bomb.
The Godzillasaurs of this universe lived in a time where radioactive isotopes were fundamental in the metabolism of almost all creatures, and they were predators with an ecological niche similar to seals or penguins, who hunted their prey by firing rings of plasma. For this, the Godzillasaurs stored in bladders on their backs, any fluid that they had at their disposal in the environment (such as water or air), they heated it until they obtained a fiery vapor, which is ionized by taking advantage of the ionizing radiation of the isotopes, and powerful electromagnetic fields generated in special organs, and by means of an abrupt change of polarity, the rings were shot by the mouth of these creatures. As Godzilla was a living nuclear reactor, this ability became much more powerful, and those mechanisms to form and expel the ring, were adapted into a kind of plasma flamethrower, with a laser core of gamma rays and neutrons, which by radiation of Cherenkov, make the plasma, both that of the Atomic Breath, and that generated by the passage of the Gamma laser, glow in intense blue.
On the other hand, with the eons of life that Godzilla has, his organs in charge of generating the Atomic Breath developed, giving rise to new abilities:
° Plasma Cutter: Just like Godzilla Earth, this Godzilla can generate a blast wave of plasma from its tail.
°Basic Spiral Ray: This Godzilla can regulate the power of his Atomic Breath, and his most powerful version is the Spiral Ray, in its basic form, which still glows blue. The power of the Atomic Breath is proportional to the time Godzilla was charging it.
° Spiral Ray / Thermonuclear Breath: At times, water has seeped into the organ that it uses to produce the Atomic Breath, and as a result, the H2O molecules have split. Oxygen joined other elements as a result of combustion, but due to pressure and temperature, hydrogen plasma was formed, and in this, isolated nuclear fusions took place. Because of this, Godzilla created a strategy for when he needed heavier artillery than usual, store large reserves of water in his body, and use them together with his basic Spiral Beam to create the most powerful and destructive version of the Atomic Breath. Now it not only burns, passes through, cuts and breaks the bonds of molecules, but it expands explosively, like the explosion of the H-Bomb, or a solar flare. Imagine a Kaiju that received this shot, which apart from all the damage received, explodes from the inside out. As this variant is much more powerful than normal, it has its limitations, from the limit of shots depending on the water stored and ready to use, to the need to fully charge the Breath, before shooting, so before shooting, Godzilla must take a while.
° Nuclear Pulse: In 1973, Godzilla faces Megalon, a weak Kaiju, who if it were not for his electromagnetic powers, and his resistant exoskeleton, comparable to that of the real beetle Nosoderma diabolicum, could be defeated by the weapons of humanity, without Many difficulties. So, Megalon, he was having a very bad time in front of Godzilla, who was about to kill him with his Atomic Breath, when something happened. Scared, Megalon put all his strength into trying to launch one last bolt from his horn, hoping to knock Godzilla down, and be able to flee, but the power was such that there was a short circuit between the insect's electrical organs and the earth's magnetism, which consequently generated a powerful EMP pulse, which interfered with Godzilla's electrical organs, at the worst moment. With no electromagnetic fields confining the plasma within, it began to spread through Godzilla's body, damaging his organs, including his biological reactor, leaving him on the brink of death. Finally, Godzilla manages to regenerate, and to avoid similar situations in the future, he developed an escape valve to release the Atomic Breath through the skin of his back, and plates, and this same mechanism, he can use to release the Atomic Breath. in the form of a Pulse.
Putting aside its nuclear capabilities, this Godzilla can regenerate during its hibernation periods, breathe underwater thanks to its gills (it has five gills, but for safety, they are covered by a layer of armored skin, with a single visible gill that makes exit for the others), and although it is not immortal, its regeneration allows it to rejuvenate at the cellular level, an ability thanks to which it has survived so long.
interesting… not really sure how to help
"Godzilla Battle Line Is Available Worldwide on Ios and Android" except, in Argentina, at least, in the Play Store, I get that Godzilla Battle Line is not available in my country.
i like both of them, they're both cool
Monkey Feet,
I think the engagement of the idea, despite not always understanding, is what propels the series forward. You sorta have the general idea of how it all connects, but there are a few things you're off about. Luckily, people like Matt Frank and Monstrosities on Youtube will be doing videos and podcasts with those in the profession of theoretical physics and you can follow them for some excellent discussion coming up.
For me, the not understanding invites rewatch and research to explore the show, it's ideas and themes. There's a lot of meat to chew on with this show and I love the fact it beckons multiple watches to "get".
My Godzilla is A fuse of 2019 Monsterverse goji & 2004 goji with cool upgraded 2002 spikes. It has a spike on the end of its tail like Gorosaurus, has spikes on his elbows, & stands about 216.3 meters tall. The mouth is wide as singular point and splits like shin Godzilla, it has 7 different types of powers: Fire (just fire), cold (very cold it turns u into ice), 2019 atomic breathe, wind (so loud and windy), fast atomic breathe (similar to godzilla earth's atomic breathe & shin), lasers shoot on its spikes like shin & the #1 powerful, it takes 30 seconds to activate this power, 3 rings appear in front of its mouth like s.p. goji, dorsal spikes glow so bright as the sun, power so loud ppl can go deaf for 8 days, atomic breathe is fast as the speed of light, and so hot that buildings far away melt slowly.
Ok so I just finished the show earlier, and even though I highly enjoyed it and thought the show was great, I was very confused for most of the whole thing. Like SasquaDash said, theres so much technobable and super advance science talk through 90% of the show that makes no sense. I kinda get some of the basics of some plot points, there's the archetypes which have 13 states of being or whatever, and those archetypes are used to make a super computer that then uses the archetypes to make a something diagonalizer that is used to get rid of the red dust temporarily and they were trying to make a perfected diagonalizer that was stop the red dust for good so they can avoid the catastrophe. But that's about I understood, feel free to correct me if got that wrong, like I said I was super confused but also enthralled cause it was so cool at the same time. So can anyone one help me understand that part of the show? Or let me know if there's another forum or a video on YouTube that explains that? Or are we even supposed to understand it? But besides the technobable part I thought everything else was great. The characters were awesome, the voice actors were great, (at least for the dub I'll have to rewatch in sub) I love Jonny Yong Bosch. I loved all the monster designs, I thought they were so creative and amazing, especially Anguirus he was beautiful. The music was really good, the animation was great. The final fight was really cool even if it didn't last long, seeing Jet get as big as Godzilla made me happy. So overall I'd give it an 8/10, the only thing stopping it from being a 10 was the technobable that had me confused the whole show.
RexGoji is vaguely tyrannosaur-like and crocodilian-like
another idea i had was similar in shaped to Final Red with GMK's head and a more parallel to the ground
Hmmm, I don't know. That's a really good question.
Of the two i always preferred Gigan considering that he looks so cool for a hook-handed alien chicken with a buzzsaw stomach. That said i don't mind Megalon considering that though he's not as iconic or cool-looking as Gigan despite that he's not bad-looking for a giant drill-handed beetle who lives underground and is controlled by underground people who want to take over earth. Add to the fact that both monsters appeared in Godzilla vs. Megalon (which happens to be the first Godzilla movie i ever saw) makes them two of my favorite Godzilla monsters.
JoshoGoji, a mixture of every era of Godzilla based on the body of a dilophosaurus
My Godzilla would have sauropod feet and the ability to unhinge and grow his mouth to 3 times it’s normal size. It would resemble Shin but with much bigger and bulkier arms with opposable thumbs. The large tail would have retractable spikes lining it. His back would be a bit more hunched forward than normal shin. He would fire a dense beam that could disintegrate anything in its path. He would have large retractable teeth that resembles the queen Tao Tei from The Great Wall. Basically preventing his mouth to fully close when fully extended. He would have an unnatural amount of bite force and would weigh 190,000 tons being 200 meters tall. He would have an extremely thick hide with incredible regeneration properties. He would have above human intelligence and could analyze whatever language anything around him could be speaking and replicate that roughly. He is very understanding of humans but will not stand as they pollute his planet more and more.
I might as well answer this,
My Godzilla would have the tree like texture of GOdzilla Earth and roughly would look like a blend of Singular point, Some shin like elements, and using 1954 as a base. It would have the scratches of Shin but they glow blue and its atomic Breath sequence would start to flash like 54'(and other gojis I realize) and get the rings of SP rings like SP.
MY Godzilla would roughly be like Godzilla earth but having been awoken when humanity killed the other Godzilla's and kaiju.
It would have the same power and size of Godzilla earth as well has being able to destroy and distort reality like Godzilla Ultima. It would be intelligent and aware like GMK goji though.
Tried the game and am completely failing at it. its better than defense force, which wasnt that bad
SasquaDash,
We've been through this multiple times. As tiring as you may find my distaste for the Monsterverse, I find your interpretation of my words equally exhausting. No. I don't like the Monsterverse, particularly the latter two, and I find some of the people behind them missing the point. Criticism can sometimes seem insulting, but it's also in how you take it.
That said, even the quotes you mention are about as harmless as it gets. I am very happy we're getting something completely different from the Monsterverse. Why would I not, since I clearly don't care for the former? And, "look at how much better that Singular Point did, King of the Monsters didn't do that well so Singular point is superior," is your interpretation of the comment and yours alone. The example with King of the Monsters was to give an example of how a niche fan base alone can not hit successful numbers unless it's reaching wider audiences. Given that this example was in the same franchise, and relevant as of recent, it was the best comparison. Obviously, more than the fan base showed up for GvK whether one likes it or not.
I said this the last time you derailed an entire topic engaging me over this and I'm going to say it again, if you feel the need to discuss my criticisms of the Monsterverse or make it personal, my PMs are open. Feel free to engage. Otherwise, please stop filling up threads with the same, tired complaint over and over. It has ruined topics before, let's not do it here.
The show is dense with its hard science, there's no arguing it. I've never enjoyed math or science, but in terms of films that like to use it, I've always been fascinated and it really encourages revisiting these stories. Doesn't hurt that I have some old friends that majored in this material and I was in shock at how much they told me was accurate.
I will say the English dub has made it easier to catch on in some ways and harder in others--But that comes from a deep place of cultural prejudice many of us have.
I can see that, It was very interesting to me. AND i enjoy science being used and again I will say, fantasy just being labled scifi
As someone who doesn't study physics and has a hard time with certain subjects (like various types of math), the show was a bit too overwhelming, The monster stuff was cool and I enjoyed some of it, but the fact that most of the show was made up of physics lectures made the plot difficult to follow and really dragged the show down for me.
I see the criticism in others reviews a lot, it has nothing to do with that. If you look farther back in this discussion youll see I spend time researching physics, I think this show just directly appeals to me.
Well, I guess I'm just stupid then...
That wasnt much of a problem for me with this show. It felt very easy to understand for me and the physics did seem oversimplified.
It feels more like real science fiction to me actually incorperating the real world and using theoretical science to justify the fantastical elements. Not like star wars, which is more fantasy but seems to get classified science fiction because its in space.
My problem with the show, is that it relies so heavily on it's science that it becomes overwhelming, most of the show ends up feeling like a very long, overly stuffed and complicated physics and chemistry lesion, rather than feeling like an entertaining story. It may be great for professors, but for the average viewer it comes off as a jumbled mess. You shouldn't need a PhD in order to understand a show's plot. Adding physics and other types of science to a show's plot can be good, but when it's the main focus it starts to become boring and hard to follow. Most of the time it feels like the show is made up of the writers saying "look I'm smarter than you" and it starts to feel almost pretentious. Also, it ends up creating a narrative that anyone who doesn't like the show is "stupid", which I find a little insulting.
Overall the series feels like it's trying to be a complicated college physics course that's occasionally interrupted by kaiju attacks.
I think completely different based on the 4d idea
I wonder what the other dimension looks like... Specifically the wherever Godzilla and the other kaiju are from. Does it look like Earth but just with red dust? Or does it look completely different?
I would agree with much of your criticisms if Singualr Point was a full story, but its very clear that there will be a season two, hence the after credits scene.I get where you come from on the designs , but i have literally no response to that its based on preference. All i really know is I liked it and can someshat see what dissapointed you.
”It's as if he thinks that his opinion is the only one that matters and that anyone who disagrees with him is "wrong".”
Its the internet, not real interaction the automatic emotion you will read most often is hostile. That dowsnt mean it is. Gman is free to share his opinion and make fun of whatever he wants. I chose to not get bugged by it a while ago.
also Chibi Godzilla does not get to be a godzilla.
My point is that he constantly bashes KOTM and GVK to the point where it becomes ridiculous, He seems to find any excuse to trash those movies and mock the crew involved. After a while it not only gets annoying to constantly see him bashing the movies, but it's kind of demeaning to the people who worked on the films and to the people who like them. It's as if he thinks that his opinion is the only one that matters and that anyone who disagrees with him is "wrong".
Case in point, the fact that both you and Gman pretty much wrote off my criticism of Singular Point because it didn't match your opinion. Gman's reply to my criticism of SP was to basically ignore my points and to counter with "the series is excellent, it's better than the MonsterVerse" like my opinion was somehow wrong and invalid. The point of this forum was to discuss our thoughts on the show, yet it seems that any opposing opinion is being pretty much ignored and thrown aside like it's nothing, which feels a little insulting.
I get that he doesn't like KOTM and GvK, but his relentless attempts to discredit them is becoming annoying. If I was constantly trying to find any excuse throw the Polygon Trilogy and the people who worked on it under the bus, I'm pretty sure that it would eventually get annoying to everybody and people would want me to stop.
Thats not entirely true. If you went into context and saw it was a response to, “
I think what we see here is that the show is a hit with hardcore G-fans. That's to be expected. But I doubt it did much to extend Toho's reach to anyone else. Now, many G-Fans are purists and want to keep their fandom to themselves, and think that's fine. So maybe that's okay. ”
The KotM reference was a secondary thought. So I should have specified, using that quote had nothing to do with monsterverse.
Kotm was very exclusive and didnt really open up to a larger audience. As fun as it is and I enjoy it, im not gonna try and pretend its a movie that was made as well as it could have been. It was a comparison that showed an interesting point.
Also he mainly just discredits KOTM and GvK..
Havent heard much criticism about KSI and G14
"And plus using a comment not related to monsterverse (the one about #3) and presenting it as one doesnt help support your case."
The comment did relate to the MonsterVerse though, The full comment was this:
"The show was ranked #3 on Japan's Netflix over the last few weeks. It takes more than a hardcore fanbase to accomplish that.
The hardcore fanbase showed up and largely love King of the Monsters in theaters, but the general audience didn't seem to pick up on it."
Essentialy he's saying "look at how much better that Singular Point did, King of the Monsters didn't do that well so Singular point is superior". He's directly using Singular Points successfulness to discredit the MonsterVerse.
Personally I don't care if he likes Singular Point more (that's his opinion), but the fact that he seems to use any opportunity to throw the MonsterVerse under the bus and to mock the filmmakers involved with that series has gotten really annoying and tiresome.
Hey goji. I'm going to watch Godzilla Singular Point whenever I get a chance
It was amazing, definitely worth a few rewatches
Of course singular Point and Monsterverse are gonna be compared. WHich is better is up to the individual, but if you look at the general reception SP has better recieved by the general public is entirely true.
"The show was ranked #3 on Japan's Netflix over the last few weeks. It takes more than a hardcore fanbase to accomplish that.
The hardcore fanbase showed up and largely love King of the Monsters in theaters, but the general audience didn't seem to pick up on it."
This isn't bashing its just entirely true. And plus using a comment not related to monsterverse (the one about #3) and presenting it as one doesnt help support your case.
Yet, you've been comparing Singular Point to the MonsterVerse, mostly as a way of discrediting the MonsterVerse.
"but after the Monsterverse, I'm happy to have a Godzilla story that swings the pendulum very, very far in the opposite direction."
"The show was ranked #3 on Japan's Netflix over the last few weeks. It takes more than a hardcore fanbase to accomplish that.
The hardcore fanbase showed up and largely love King of the Monsters in theaters, but the general audience didn't seem to pick up on it."
"It is a great deal better than the Monsterverse"
Hell, the Wingard quote that you've been using is another way you've been trying to disregard the MonsterVerse and throw it under the bus...
"To me the reactions that I've seen feel more like a "Japanese Godzilla vs American Godzilla" situation with fans arguing over which ones "better", which I find kind of ridiculous."
Indeed, especially since I haven't seen much of that at all. In fact many of the people praising it are also fans of the Monsterverse merely enjoying the series for what it is rather than comparing it to anything. Rightfully so as the series is excellent without comparison. It is a great deal better than the Monsterverse, but I don't think that's really a conversation worth having when there's so much meat in the series itself worth mining without the need for comparison.
There were ideas that I liked and the animation was fantastic, but I feel like the series got bogged down too much by the over bearing technobabble. A little bit is fine, but when 90% of the dialogue is made up of it, it becomes extremely jumbled and hard to follow. Heck, there were times where I was wondering if the characters even knew what they were talking about. It felt like there was too much going on at once and the plot became too convoluted and confusing, it got to the point where I had a hard time trying to comprehend what was happening. The fact that they kept flip flopping between the origins of the monsters (ranging from them being prehistoric, them being from space, them being deep sea creatures, them being from another dimensions, to them evolving from the red dust) really annoyed me, seriously pick an origin and stick with it. It really made me appreciate the simplicity of the the other Godzilla stories. I also find in ironic that the series is made out of technobabble and exposition dumps, yet there's things that they flat out don't explain why did the blood of the Sarunga/Megalon/Kumonga creature come to life and become Hedorah-like creatures?, Why could Godzilla Terrestris's blood become tentacles that protected it from harm? What was the Shadow Rodan? How did Salunga get into that facility? None of this was explained and it just added to the confusion.
The new monster designs just felt uninspired to me, there were aspects of them I liked, but for the most part they felt really unoriginal. Looking at Salunga, Godzilla Amphibia, and Godzilla Aquatilis I couldn't help but think of how much I would rather be watching Gabara, Varan, and Titanosaurus and how it would have been cooler to see them return instead. Godzilla Ultima looked amazing though.
I mentioned Godzilla feeling like an afterthought. He doesn't fully appear until the end of episode 6 and then doesn't actually become Godzilla until the end of episode 10. Even when he's finally in the show they barely show him, there are long periods of time where they cut away from Godzilla and they barely mention him, there are times where it almost seems like they forget about him. I like a good build up (I love Godzilla 2014 for that reason), but when you spend 2/3 of the series waiting to see Godzilla in action, only for them to barely show or mention him, it's pretty annoying.
I didn't hate it, like I said there were things that I enjoyed (I sure as hell liked it a lot better than the Polygon Trilogy), but there was a lot that dragged it down for me. With all of the hype, I had big expectations for it, but in the end I just felt let down. I may watch it again in the future and my opinions may change, but as far as my initial reaction, I was just really disappointed.
I find it interesting that the most praise that I've seen being given to it (besides the animation) is that "different" and that it's not the MonsterVerse (or that it's not "American"). To me the reactions that I've seen feel more like a "Japanese Godzilla vs American Godzilla" situation with fans arguing over which ones "better", which I find kind of ridiculous.
Such a great series! I love it!
Here, here. Second time watching the show and I'm truly sucked in to the world, the procedure and the ideas. I'll likely watch it a third time, once again in Japanese again just to check out Netflix's subtitles. Though I'm surprised at how well the English dub sounds. Johnny Yong Bosch (the Black Ranger from Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers) is a perfect English speaking Yun.
Also, Dman on youtube did a tremendous cover of Sawada's, Alapu Upala, (another example of the mirror concept Mei brought up with "6=9"). Looks like we'll be getting a few different variations of this fantastic piece on the soundtrack, but until then...
Alapu Upala - Godzilla Singular Point [Piano Cover]
