ZillaDude345Godzilla (Toho) NewsGodzilla vs. Kong 2020 game reportedly in development to coincide with movie release date!

Some things sound fishy like Gman said Mechanikong and Zilla sound a tad bit strange.

I mean I don't really care I just want a good polished movie. I hope it comes out in the July to October range though if they shift its release date.

ZillaDude345Godzilla (Toho) NewsOfficial Godzilla 2 novelization explains the relationship between Kong and other Titans

I like how Kong just stays. It just goes to show Godzilla, Mothras, and Kongs intelligence. They knew Ghidorah was a false King and did not kneel before him. The only reason Mothra and Godzilla came was because they knew they had to stop him. And Kong just want to lead s peaceful life on his island.

GojiFanPatGodzilla ForumWhy Godzillas Spines changed

I think that between the events of 2014 and KOTM, he was already in the process of changing his dorsal plates, and the energy given to him when (SPOILERS) Serizawa died sped up and completed that process. For me, his spines looked more like the ones from '54 after the nuke scene compared to earlier in the film.

At the very least, the explanation is now out there.

The novelization also brought up the events of Aftershock and Awakening, and it's been made clear that even if not directly mentioned, the expanded media material is still being kept in mind.

Plus, it makes a lot of sense and could also explain his size increase.

An injury as severe as having all your dorsal plates destroyed is something that requires some major healing. Godzilla probably had to stay in one of the Hollow Earth's radiation pockets for the entirety of those 5 years, growing out his backspines as quickly as possible.

As a consequence of doing this, they grew out larger and presumably more durable, simultaneously allowing him to jumpstart his overall body growth. The backspines getting larger would also result in an improved ability to channel and store atomic energy, which neatly explains why his breath looks more focused and concentrated in Antarctica.

It's a very clever and elegant solution.

Plenty of things get changed without explanation. They're called retcons. The bridge of the Enterprise changed significantly from Star Trek V to VI. Magneto's helmet looked different in each of the last four X-Men movies. Beast's and Mystique's make-up design from movie-to-movie as well. The Beastmaster's tiger, named Ruh, is a black tiger in the first movie, a striped bengal tiger in the second movie and a lion in the third movie.

Retcons happen for creative reasons and Dougherty felt it best to assume Godzilla always had those spines. I think it's great no explanation was given.

 G.H. (Gman)

Yeah, I'll give you that one.

But, we had an explanation this time! I loved the grounded take the MonsterVerse had to Godzilla, it was finally what I'd always wished for. Using the 2019 design for a flashback just brings to mind all those times they reused shots from the Showa era to save on effects, it feels lazy. I expected better from Legendary.

Titan of WaterGodzilla Forum*Sigh, Michael Dougherty Ships Godzilla and Mothra.

Okay, maybe ship was an extreme word. Michael Dougherty posted a lot of Chibi fan art of Godzilla and Mothra hugging and cuddling one another. I’m starting to think these pics were supposed to indicate more friendship than romance, but you never know. Go on his Twitter and decide for yourself.

Gomi: Ninja Monster,
These prequel comics, canon or not, are really afterthoughts--Throwaway stories to help market the movie. I doubt the filmmakers were considering them while making their films.

I for one love it. We've never had an explanation for why Godzilla changes before, we don't really need one now.

I knew there was a reason everything looked wrong about that flashback, that is deeply frustrating. They had the 2014 model, why not use it for the 2014 scene?! As if the prequel comics didn't already have enough problems keeping with the canon, why undercut a deliberate attempt to fix a continuity error?

hawk4117Godzilla vs. Kong (2020) ForumKong better not win! Here's my storyline. Whats yours?

Every Godzilla fan knows his limits.  Ghidorah almost took him down.  Even the Kaju’s.  All of Godzilla’s victories wasn’t a cake walk. The outcome of this movie that was mentioned is ONE WILL FALL!! Godzilla will not destroy Kong because a woman took him down!  Personally I do mind if Kong wins!  I’ll be pissed! As most who resides on this website!  You stated that the writers have to make a good storyline no matter who wins? I get that and I agree. BUT, I think if the writers make the right decision, and then the two unite to take on another Alpha villain, then that would open the doors to many other money making possibilities for the continuation of MonsterVerse.  If you kill off Godzilla, then it’s over!

I doubt the casual moviegoers will be aware of that. Only us fans pay attention to this sort of thing.

I think Michael Dougherty liked the classic spines more, accepted that Godzilla's look changes from movie-to-movie and retconed the 2014 Godzilla with new spines.

Just to be clear, he has the 2019 spines in the flashback to 2014.

Dang, that's umm umm ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm okay so it's basically everything that they talk about Godzilla's awakening or Creation because every Godzilla movie between 1954-1984 is a lie but their still good movies.

My favorite titan was and has always been, Godzilla, ever since i saw Godzilla vs Biollante i just fell in love with Godzilla, he is just a very lovable monster for me even when he is destroying a city to ashes, he represents all that is wrong with mankind, and i kinda live it for it. Not to mention he protects earth from any monster.

He is and always has been my hero.

Godzilla King of The Monsters was really a love letter to the fans of the godzilla series. The movie contained tons of easter eggs for the G-fans out there and just seeing that was enough to make people happy, the movie itself gave the G-fans a lot of monster action and fight scenes.

GKOTM had beautiful visuals and colors around the movie, you could clearly see the different colors that seoarated each monster. The cinematography in some parts where just breath taking, like the mighty Rodan coming out of his volcano, King Ghidorah just looking like the devil on the clouds praying on anything that crosses its path, Godzilla coming out of the water ready for a second round against Ghidorah, and who could possibly forget about the birth of mothra, and most importantly Mothra hatching from her cocoon, that scene in particular was my favourite scene, just seeing her magestic wings spreading and roaring made me cry, she was so beautifully done.

Another that made this movie great was the use of Akira Ifukube's classic songs but edited by Bear. The classic songs made this movie much more enjoyable than it already was.

GKOTM was the perfect godzilla movie for the fans, made by a fan itself, and it really show how the director poured his heart and soul into this film and for that i thank him, this movie made me feel like a kid all over again.

Looks like this was fake. Very unfortunate. Either that, or it was pulled from E3 because of the rumored delay of GvK.

TheGMan123Godzilla ForumStrongest Incarnation of Ghidorah (SPOILERS)

Okay, first of all, we're not applying a double standard here. I'm going off of known feats against known quantities.

Second of all, have you actually analyzed the arguments and discussion?

I've done a lot to highlight why Legendary Ghidorah is so powerful. He has very prominent physical feats to go along with his size, like his speed and maneuverability in combat with his snake-like movements and ability to match Legendary Godzilla in strength. His beams also showcase immense power, being able to outright vaporize Humans, cleave clean through buildings without resistance, and physically push back Godzilla with their kinetic force.

Not to mention that he no-sells the powered up atomic breath that pushes around his 141,000 ton mass with relative ease and can easily burn through lesser Titans' flesh.

These are not only quantifiable, but based on analysis, more impressive than the feats I've seen out of Desghidorah and Grand King Ghidorah. Scaling to Mothra Leo is useless if the context for how his powers compare to other monsters is either applied in the wrong way or otherwise absent.

Im DurpGodzilla ForumStrongest Incarnation of Ghidorah (SPOILERS)

I feel like there's a clear double standard here, saying grand king ghidorah has no notable destructive feats but legendary does, since almost all destruction caused by legendary ghidorah is due to the hurricane that surrounds it that as we see from mothra, rodan and godzilla has absolutely 0 effect on other monsters, and any gravity beam that was shot was not any more impressive than any past ghidorahs.

Meanwhile you have Mothra leo with multiple forms one of which can go through time it goes so fast, a form that allows him to split apart into small versions that can all beam spam and shields and beams for days and still needed to upgrade into a final form after fighting 2 previous monsters that were capable of wiping out humanity just like legendary king ghidorah. Sorry but to say meh not impressive and say legendary ghidorah is top dog is so skewed in one direction it's funny.
