New Updates: Jojozilla just joined Team Mothra! Team Mothra has been rising pretty fast from the past 3 months. I think about 3 months, not sure.
godzilla vs. biollante was one of my favorites. this breaks my heart. rest in peace.
Rest In Peace, His contribution to the Heisei series will be remembered.
Rest in Peace
Final Wars was being written by Wataru Mimura about 6-7 months before Tokyo SOS even hit theaters. (Which might explain why Mimura didn't come back to write Tokyo SOS.) No matter what, Shogo Tomiyama seemed pretty determined to go a different direction.
I might go on another Godzilla marathon soon
Probably explains why they went for Godzilla Final Wars instead of continuing the Kiryu saga
The stinger was just there to ominously communicate that humanity didn't learn their lesson. What happened after doesn't really matter it's just an emblematic moment. The story itself is complete though--It was about that Godzilla and that iteration of MechaGodzilla and it was completely wrapped up by the end of Tokyo SOS.
I wouldn't be against a continuation of that continuity, but given how Tokyo SOS flopped...
Yup, countering and KOing the MV is now my thing. I'll watch Godzilla 1954 soon and probably maybe I don't know draw MV comparisons (and not in the MV's favor).
Well not explain but expand on the stinger if they so choose to make a stand alone movie like what the Kiryu saga did for Mothra and War of the Gargantuans. I wish I could have saw GxMG on the big screen but stuff happened.
well Toho could later come back in a later movie and finish that plot point
I only need to watch king kong vs. godzilla and godzilla 1984 and then I will have watched all godzilla movies.
Some things are left better unexplored
My only issue with the Kiryu Saga was that it ended too abruptly on a cliffhanger that was never explored (something that's a reoccurring issue with the Millennium and Reiwa series). Other than that, Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla and Tokyo S.O.S are both really good.
Jim in Seattle,
Toho actually okayed the Titra dub, it was the unauthorized use of all the production photos that pissed them off. Royalty laws work differently in Japan and Toho couldn't account for all of the crew members and actors in those photos.
It's also because Media Blasters did not wait for Toho's approval that the latter is so difficult to license special features from for North American releases. Basically, Media Blasters gave us one of the best releases possible for a Godzilla movie and, in doing so, made sure future releases were mediocre from then until eternity.
So the sequel will be about them fighting another boss...again. Fantastic, just Fantastic. sonictiger OHHHHH Counter hit and KO!
Hmm, There are a lot of newcomers but still no updates.
Tokyo Shock released "Destroy All Monsters" in 2014 on DVD. They secretly included the Titra English dub on the disc. When Toho found out, they were royally pissed and took all those copies off retail/online stores.
You can find the Titra dubbed version of "Atragon" on YT but the video quality is SO bad, it's hard to watch.
"Frankenstein Conquers the World" was released as 2 DVD release: the American version and the Japanese version. There are some scenes missing and included which is weird. Even the ending is weird. Earthquake or giant octopus?
It has to be MosuGoji from 1964's "Godzilla vs The Thing." Pure evil. Look at those eyes.
I can't remember the exact order, but I remember "Godzilla vs The Thing" making a huge impression on me on TV. Godzilla was the ultimate bad ass. Then over the years, I went to see Toho films multiple times at the drive-in. I saw "Destroy All Monsters" followed by "Frankenstein Conquers the World" and then a few years later, "Godzilla vs The Smog Monster" which was started at DUSK so it was hard to see things clearly. As I got older, I saw films on TV, Super 8 movies...and now DVDs. And now I can watch just about any G film on my phone. Incredible.
There's been decades of debate (started by Forry Ackerman) as to who "won" in the 1963 film. In the US, you hear Kong's roar over the closing music. However, in the Japanese version, you also hear Kong's roar...and as the screen goes to black, you hear Godzilla's roar. So in this version, it's a draw. And Godzilla returned the next year for "Godzilla vs The Thing."
Godzilla and Kong? More like Godzilla and Kong Get Cheated Out of Solo Entries Twice in a Row So They Team Up Against the Creative Team. That's a better title.
But I'm now 100% convinced this movie is going to be goofy as heck and I'm here for it.
I hope its storyline is dark
Hey, I was right. They are calling it Godzilla and Kong. I thought as much when the sequel was first announced.
monsterzero9 I think Allies, not friends.
Some reputable sources that have had some public ins with Legendary are saying that the "Godzilla and Kong" moniker is mainly just for crew swag and not indicative of the title--Similar or otherwise.
I feel like the film's title will have a subtitle for it, I can't imagine it just being Godzilla & Kong.
They seem to be basing it off the Godzilla x MechaGodzilla skeleton. Looks pretty close to me.

I think its that the bit with the skelebones is to stacky and looks more like a seleton for megarogoji than shodaigoji.
godzilla and kong, friends forever!
Xenotaris The statue does look like it is suffering ngl.
monsterzero9 What would that be?
Oh so what if the show is secretly animated too?
something just looks of here
The images were released by members of the production crew, who were given these items by the studio to thank them for their work on the film.
The upcoming Godzilla series is going to be live action, and based on the tweets from O'shea Jackson Jr. and Chris Mirjahangir, the plan was to have their show animated. The only confirmed animated MonsterVerse series is the upcoming Skull Island series.
Plus, the live action series is going to be set in between 2014 and KOTM, while this series would take place after KOTM and GvK.
So if this ended up being made, it would be it's own show, separated from the ones that are currently in production.
