I HATE, JUST HATE coronavirus!!!!!!!
At least Godzilla Vs Kong is coming to HBO Max in 2 weeks...
1998 and KotM were very front loaded though. I probably also should have noted that 1998 came out in a decade where Hollywood films were more popular than Japanese films in Japan. In fact the ratio of Hollywood films to Japanese films released in the country was about 7 to 3. The Japanese film industry only had under 2,000 screens in the 1990s and it was still recovering from the economic turmoil of the 1970s. (In fact it arguably hasn't recovered to this day.)
Today, it's reversed. Japanese films are much more popular in Japan and they have well over 3,000 screens. Even then, however, it's very difficult for movies to crack 5 million tickets. It's interesting how circumstance dictates the success of movies. Not unlike COVID in North America right now.
I can if you want, but I don't think there's any need. They're still cool images.
Yes, thank you!
And this shot from kotm is awesome

The 98 movie did well. G14 was a success. Shin did very well. KotM was almost a success
I wonder what burning shin would look like...
that was just a joke, neoryn
is there any ways I can delete posts?
oh so I did get clickbaited. huh
I tried playing Monster of Monsters and it was too hard for me... usually, I can understand some NES games (Rygar, Rattle n' Roll, and River City Ransom being some examples) but the way MoM was laid out and the number of things you have to focus on at the same time just takes away the fun.
Hopefully varan finally gets more than a cameo this time.
MonsterVerse should continue because it has so much potential. The universe can expand further. They couldn't possibly have created a universe for just 4 movies.
Did some digging. This is actually fan art by Kia Asamiya from February, 2018.
They were sketched for Wonderfest 2018, which is an annual event held in Chiba, Japan.
You can find his post here.
also sorry about the typo in the title when I saw these I just thout,"the fandom needs to be aware of this"
gman,I found them on a shady youtube video,I dont know the name, but I was able to find it all over the web, wich leads me to believe its official.
or I just got clickbaited I dont know
They look amazing, but I find their authenticity suspect. What's the source for these?
u insulted monster of monsters, now you shall die fis commen
Hope it goes well. Hasn't Japan done better with covid? If so, more people can go out to see it. I'm predicting atleast a commercial success.
That’s a lot of math

The Kong in Antarctica scene looks like an homage to King Kong Escapes, like Kong's flight with the helicopters is to King Kong vs Godzilla.
I haven't really noticed bad vibes here. I've been here for the few discussions recently that others may view as "bad vibes" but they really aren't. They're just taken way too personally. There's going to be debates on here because ultimately everyone isn't going to see eye-to-eye on every Godzilla film, especially the recent ones. I also notice that when someone has what people view as a "negative" opinion, its apparently a synonym for "trashed on" which it isn't. If someone is giving legitimate points about why a movie isn't worth its praise or did something wrong, its not being "trashed on". Being trashed on would be someone saying "This movie is absolute hot garbage" without giving ANY reason as to why. Its toxic if that same person insults you for liking the thing they didn't. That hasn't happened here yet (except in the disqus replies for the main articles but do yourself a favor and don't engage in that.)
I also believe that when someone says think "positively" about a film, it's really just not helpful. If we only looked on the positive side of films and ignored the negative aspects, every film would be a 10/10.

"nah, I saw some pretty heated, non constructive, back and forth on here."
Curious as to where?
Glad this was resolved :)
I do mostly read what was said as aggressive, which can be a little stressful.
I just am worried that people are starting to get carried away. Your statement, could be true. But to me it sounded like you were targeting SonicTiger and trying to be snarky.
What I meant by my words is that ceratin emotions are hard to achieve in this communication, sadness and hppiness are extremely difficult, while anger and frustration are easy and often what people read it as, because it is so impersonal.
Anyways I misunderstood your statement. And what seems like personal fighting is just debating, and can seem to some people as hostile. Maybe thats why people started saying drastic things during past disagreements. (Im not referencing anything said that I’ve seen, only what you described about 1998 and other events)
Yeah, def in my top 10 best movie moments.
You saying "some are taking too personally" could come off as gaslighting to the people a little upset. Its also just a presumption of someone's feelings.
A good discussion isn't what I've been seeing. A good discussion doesn't involve people being upset or angry or any negative emotion, because then it usually turns to an argument. A good discussion is when two or more parties have a respectful understanding of eachothers ideas.
"I don't think there's anything here that has been said that really necessitates the label of flame wars or harmful arguments."
nah, I saw some pretty heated, non constructive, back and forth on here.
Listen, Gman, I'm not calling out you or anyone in specific here. This problem didn't just start on here, its a problem across the entire community and it needs to be solved, lest we worsen our reputation.
I have the same opinion
