Well, APEX wanted something to compete with Godzilla. Something that wasn't just his equal, but something superior to him. What better way to compete with Godzilla, then to make a double of him, a more advanced Godzilla that they can control (or so they thought).

I can't wait to see how this ride turns out....

I'm digging the Legendary / Toho Godzilla design mash-up! The news of Takashi Yamazaki being brought on board is very exciting, with Toho's planned new Godzilla cinematic universe, I'm sure he might get a chance to direct a feature length Godzilla film. I'm very excited to see where Toho takes the franchise next.

The big news here is Takashi Yamazaki. I've been screaming at the cosmos for him to direct a Godzilla movie for years. Before the director(s) of Shin Godzilla was announced, I was rooting for him to be in the director's chair.

I hope this leads to him helming a real Godzilla feature.

I loved how cool he looked and the story of the first Godzilla film I ever saw (Godzilla 1954). From then on, I was a Godzilla fan.

Yeah, I feel like a slow transformation would be much creepier.

Also, aliens genetically creating their own titans could be an easy way to bring in other classic monsters like Gigan, Orga, or maybe even SpaceGodzilla.

I liked it even before this.

It was probably never ment to represent something from the movie. I think the armor on the figure was just a gimmick for the toy, similar to some of the old Trendmasters figures.

(Because Godzilla really needed armor and weapons)
