True American GodzillaGodzilla 2014 ForumConverting Toho Classic Monsters into realistic Legendary Pictures counterparts

@DINOBOY22: I had forgotten about that kaiju. *Looks up Gabara* I think I have an idea.

Classic Toho Monster #11: Gabara

Species: Dream Ogre

Height: 58 meters

Abilities: Electrical touch (both hands and horn), scaly hide.

My Legendary Pictures Counterpart: [No Name Yet]

Species: Bengal Tiger/Jaguar/Electric Eel/Komodo Dragon

Height: Same as 2014 Godzilla (when upright)

Abilities: Strong scales; genetically modified to stand and move around when upright; poisonous bite; extreme electric shock (from any part of the body); Powerful build; Good speed; retractable claws.

Reason for Species choices: Gabara seemed to be a humanoid, scaled cat from the images I've seen of him. Bengal tigers are the largest of the big cats, but the Jaguar has (supposedly) the better bite force. An enhanced form of Electric Eel ability would be required. The Komodo Dragon, along with the cat body, would make our counterpart Gabara a 'wingless dragon'.

@KAIJUFALL3: A parasite for Kaijus... neat idea! For other monsters I can understand them being infected, but how could Godzilla be infected?

dude that is an awesome idea maybe they can be a parasite on godzilla and be mutated with kinda like cloverfield in a way that would also exsplain why godzilla is bigger than them but it is only a theory

True American GodzillaGodzilla 2014 ForumConverting Toho Classic Monsters into realistic Legendary Pictures counterparts

I was busy yesterday so sorry for not getting back till now. That said...

@COOLGODZILLA1234:Thank you! I would be greatly honored if Legendary hired to design these monsters! I hope they can be made aware of these designs.

@GOJIRA2K: Your welcome, I was happy to do those monsters. I was suprised to hear about the firestick cactus, but it made a great piece for Biollante. Before I heard of Mononykus, I always thought T-rex was odd for having such tiny arms. After Mononykus, T-rex's arms are nothing by comparison.

@LINKZILLA: Make those two more unique than a dull gigantic Mantis and Spider? No problem! I not only made them unique, but very deadly.

Classic Toho Monster #9: Kamacuras
Species: Praying Mantis
Length: 90 Meters
Height: 40 Meters
Abilities: Mantis claws; Flight; chameleon ability.

My Legendary Pictures Counterpart: [No Name Yet]
Species: Praying Mantis/Flea/Scorpion
Length: 180 Meters
Height: 80 Meters
Abilities: Hybrid Scorpion/Praying Mantis claws; Flight; Poisonous Stinger; and Extremelly good jumper

Reason for Species Choices: A normal Praying Mantis is good, but to Kaiju-fy it our monster needs more to stay alive. The flea is, in the insect world, one of the best jumpers around. When conditions limits the use of wings (bad weather, wing is broken, Godzilla's around) jumping around is the next best thing. Besides, having no armor to speak of means one needs to dodge attacks. The scorpion, especially the deadliest one around, would compliment the Mantis traits. Combine both claw types and few armored monsters could survive its grip. Once an opening was made, cue its deadly toxin located in the stinger!

Classic Toho Monster #10: Kumonga
Species: Giant Spider
Length: 60 Meters
Height: 35 Meters
Abilities: Shoots webbing to capture prey, Poisonous bite

My Legendary Pictures Counterpart: [No Name Yet]
Species: Giant Huntsman Spider/Yeti Crab
Length: 60 Meters
Height: 35 Meters
Abilities: Deadly Toxin, lives in a Colony (300 individuals), light but semi-tough armor, can withstand high heat, and strong claws

Reason for Species Choices: For web spinning spiders, they typically wait around for prey to come to them. Giant Huntsman Spiders, our largest spider species, they don't need webbing to get prey. They hunt for prey, and thanks to living in a large colony, they can work together to take prey down. Yeti Crabs are deep sea crabs, but don't live in cold despite the name. They actually live at hydrothermal vents, so living at such a vent one needs a high heat resiliance.  Since this kaiju species is a hybrid of sea and land creatures, their colony extends from land to deep sea. The colony is cleverly hidden, so few realize thy're in the territory of a dangerous species until it's already to late. With the possible exception of the 2014 American Godzilla, anyone entering this territory and are ever heard from again!

TheGMan123Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's atomic breath (speculative idea)

I'm hoping that there's at least some visual indication of the sheer destructive potential of the atomic breath. I'm guessing it won't be causing explosions wherever it goes. Again, I'd like to think of it as a simple vaporization stream that simply causings things to disappear from sheer atomic heat and molecule scattering. Blue will definitely be the indicator colour, but I do agree that a concentrated beam is a bit too unbelievable. Perhaps more like a vapour at first that causes things to melt, then reacts with the environment to glow blue and increases the overall radiation and heat levels to maximum.

Well its a good thing I'm going to see the hobbit isn't it. I honestly doubt that's where they will restless the trailer, Super Bowl I mean. but, it would be viewed by more people.

In my opinion, n pretty muCh nothing. Nuke, nope, he will survive and heal. Well, okay, oxygen destroyer and other monsters could kill him, but nothing real. (haha, I'm comparing Godzilla to something real)

G-RaaGodzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's atomic breath (speculative idea)

I would like a small segment in the movie where they try to explain the physics behind Godzila's breath.  Like it is a combination of gases and unstable radioactive particle, that when they come into contact with other materials cause micro-explosions at a molecular level or cause molecular instablity of other materials on contact.  That could also explain the effects of godzilla's breath in past movies like how it can cause sparks to fly off armored enemies or explosions in buildings.

The color of his breath also display a difference in his power: The blue breath has more kinetic potential so it can push back enemies, while the orange breath it more fury like and causes flames and explosions.  The blue on is more powerful and stable than the orange one.

No, you were right, it was just flammable gas that was lit by the cars.

Really? I thought it was just super heated gas and that it lit the cars on fire. Huh, learn something new every day. xD

Eh, the 98 Godzilla toys had fire breathing action as well, but that never made it into the movie. :P

The glowing nerve idea is pretty sick!

Reply
InstinctiveGiganGodzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's atomic breath (speculative idea)

Also consider that the toys leaked gave a figure with "atomic breath action". So it'll for sure have a color. Maybe it'll be like the atomic breath like the background pictuer of this sight. A glowing flashlight like illuminance coming from his mouth that makes his spikes glow but doing all the effects you just said. It would be awesome!

I actually like the idea of nerves in the spikes glowing rather than it all glowing! Awesome! I can picture that!

That would be amazing, as long as his spikes glow I would be sooooo okay with that. I depict his spike's nerves glowing and being clearly visible as opposed to the actual spikes themselves glowing; kind of like an illuminating hearbeat on his back.

The hive mind is generallypheromone-based, so it is entirely possible for that to happen for basic command coordination between a group of beasts.

This reminds me of Legion from the one of the newer Gamera movies. Legion was a large beetle like thing that controlled hundreds of smaller beatles that were attracted to electronics.

I would think that it would be an initially invisible wave that will eventually turn into some sort of fireball due to it igniting the atmosphere.

I know canon is essentially the "official" universe but if it's something that creates massive plot holes like the Star Wars prequels, then the writers have essentially done no better than someone on the internet with some shitty fan fic.  But ya see what I'm talking about? Arguing about fiction is hard to do considering the canon stuff can have holes, everyone can have their own favorite version of a specific piece of fiction (Heisei and/or Showa Godzilla for example), and considering all writers who have the power to create canon are no different than us as internet users it's hard to say a specific piece of work is legit (for example if one of us creates a Godzilla movie in the future, we've essentially have the power of canon in our hands even though now all we can do is enjoy as an audience). This is why I love treasured sagas like Breaking Bad and Harry Potter so much, you worry less about what is considered arguable and/or realistic and just enjoy the ride and the pure written brilliance. Godzilla movies are far from that, one of the main reasons I can't wait for this new one.

InstinctiveGiganGodzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.

Godzilla is probably the most impossible to discuss canon since there are so many versions of him. It's kind of like, take your pick. I personally love Final Wars and GMK Godzilla the most since these depict what an actual "King of the Monsters" is like with power and skill to outmatch all. This new movie coming up will give us a whole new Godzilla, I wouldn't mind this new franchise to be the new canon of Godzilla.

We don't really know anything about this new Godzilla. ;-;

Reply
Akio123Godzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.

Well I guess I try to base this off my understanding. It is easier for me to use the new Godzilla, since he will be presented as probably the most realistic Godzilla since the original. Giant black lizard, around 400ft, who is composed of atomic energy. Meaning his whole molecular structure is much different. The cells of his body and skin are all pumped of radiation and he feeds off of it. This must mean that his cells are mutated and most likey larger, more packed and dense than that of any other creatures. This is probably why he can withstand so much missle impact without it piercing his scales. Ok, then he is able to focus some of his atomic composition and release it as a defense, like a skunk or an eel. Except, it's all  radiated energy. So something extremely large, extremely durable, has a mobile "Ray gun" and absorbs radiation. What can take that down? lol

I'm guessing we'll have to wait until the movie. lmfao

Electric Eels are covered in something like mucous, which isn't at all a decent conductor, which spares them from being electricuted by themselves. So that's that explanation. lmao

Yeah, I think Gareth will stick with the blue beam, but I think it would be more frightening to use the "invisible" breath.

Reply
Akio123Godzilla 2014 ForumHive Mind theory

Sorry I don't mean to stalk your posts haha That would be cool, and could lead to some understanding as to why they're attacking cities and such. Many insects run off a hive mind. Mostly the dominating ones likes ants, bees, wasps, termites, etc.

BCrockett94Godzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.

Canon isn't really what we want it to be. Canon is what happened in that franchise's official universe. lmao. As much as I dislike the prequels to Star Wars, that was all canon. Jar Jar Binks is real.. Unfortunately.

But yeah, I agree with the "arguing over thin air" comment. xD It's very true, and it does make it harder to sound intelligent when making one's arguements.

Akio123Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's atomic breath (speculative idea)

To be completely honest with you, that sounds quite amazing and incredibly believable. It makes sense, and is far from stupid. Although, I think Gareth wants to hold this characteristic true to Godzilla's character. Im guessing it'll be a blue beam. However, I dont think it'll cause explotions. I think it would just vaporize anything it touches and slightly around it while setting flames to things at distance. Maybe it'll even leave a huge trace of lethal radiation.  I mean that would makes sense, but that is simplay my own speculation(I could be 100% wrong) Lol but I do like your idea. Although a "Blue atomic beam" sounds unrealistic, then again, it doesn't. Think of an eel, and how they literally spew electricity out of their bodies IN WATER without killing themselves, and they're just normal ocean creatures. While Godzilla is an atomic creature. Who knows, maybe we will see in a trailer OR just have to wait for the movie.

BCROCKETT My man, my main meng! Glad to see you back! I personally believe canon is whatever you want it to be; for example I refuse to call the nowaday Spider-man comics and the Star Wars prequels canon since I hate them so much. I personally find the comics more canon than the movies of Godzilla since I fail to see a slow moving Godzilla being able to do much and be claimed King of the Monsters. I dunno, see that's why it's so tough to argue fiction, we're essentially arguing about thin air.

Reply
BCrockett94Godzilla 2014 ForumWhat can kill Godzilla? Honest question.

Instinctive Gigan, long time no see. Are the comics held as canon? I'm honestly unsure. Also, Godzilla's just as much fiction as the things you claimed were fiction. lol

Also, Cadnium shells came close to killing Godzilla until Godzilla was revived by the electrical storm produced by an atmospheric nuclear explosion. Nukes haven't been officially used on Godzilla in the movies. I guess his strengths and weaknesses depend on the movie you're watching. In Final Wars, the only real threat to Godzilla was the energy vampire known as Keizer Ghidorah. In the Heisei series, Godzilla is almost killed by Cadmium shells, the destruction of his second brain, and Destoroyah (arguably). In the showa series (all of which claim to be the direct sequel to the 54 movie, with maybe one or two exceptions, Godzilla is seen as almost being killed by plenty of other monsters. 1954, Godzilla is killed by the fictional weapon known as the oxygen destroyer.
