Ladies and gent's, Bandai/Tamashii Nations has revealed that a Godzilla 2014 S.H.MonsterArts figure prototype IS currently in production!!!!  In an October 15th interview Toho Kingdom's Chris Mirjahangir conducted with Tsubasa Utsumi of Tamashii Nations, it was revealed that Bandai is working on a Godzilla 2014 figure, which at the time of the interview had yet to be opproved.  Utsumi-san only discussed it briefly, but stated that he hopes to include bonus effect parts for the figure, including an atomic ray and even some abilities that may not be featured in the film!  I'll provide a link to the interview as soon as possible!

All I know is, that's $65.00 to $80.00 dollars that will be leaving my wallet as soon as I see a preorder!!!! :D

bob2448Godzilla ForumWhat Made You a Godzilla Fan?

I never got a chance to watch any Godzilla films until about 2009 when GODZILLA 2014 was first announced. I was really excited about a new Godzilla movie and decided to watch one for the first time. I chose Godzilla vs. Megaguirus since it was the only one on TV. I thought it was okay but then I watched Godzilla vs. Mothra (1992) on Hulu and that film pretty much cemented me as a fan. I still need to watch about 10 more to see all 28 though, I'm missing pretty much all the films from the 60s and 70s.

I've been a Godzilla fan since I was born. I was born in 1996. The first movie I ever saw was Godzilla 2000 when it came to theatres. I instantly fell in love, as I grew older I kept watching all the movies they released while of course finding the older ones and watching them as well. I've seen every movie and my first tattoo will be of Godzilla. I will be a fan until I die. I'm now 18 years old and I cannot wait to see this king reborn in the starlight. It's about time he got the attention a king deserves. Am I right?

the feet are great, they help to convey the sheer size and power of godzilla, as for the whole gill thing, i hope not, and i ddoubt thry are, it would severly limit the new godzilla compared to past ones and isnt realistic for a reptile anyways. i was thinking that they might  be overlapping scales of armor that provide durability while still allowing for flexability or if they really are gills that he does not need them after his mutation and they are just vestigial.

It would be strange if they dont.

I would buy it if its not too fragile.

I think im ok with it. just feel the need that the toes need to be a little longer but none the less my hype for the film is not ruined what so ever.

I hate McDonalds, but I have to admit that a TV spot with godzilla eating a burger or something would be funny.

i think it will be much like the Trex in jurassic park. he was only in the film for 4 scenes, and for a total of about 10 minutes, but he definintely left his mark all over that film. and his time on screen wasnt just glimpses of his foot or tail; they showed the shit out of the Trex. im not saying that godzilla will only be in his own film for 10-15 minutes, but he will own every second of screentime he is given.

Personally, I will have no problem if Godzilla just shows a foot or his tail or an arm, I like that kind of mystery about monsters, not showing them since the beginig of the story but I don't think this will be the case, maybe after 30 or 45 minutes we eill have a full vision of G. I just want to see him fighting other monster at least one time even if it's at the end of the movie

i agreee with godzillafan1995..But after all,we havent see the official fuill body of Godzilla himself..IT's only speculation that thrown out there that godzilla's feet will be like the encounter statue..

I can't remember where I read this but in an interview Gareth did state that we don't really get too many looks at Godzilla in full view. Hopefully that will change. But if it doesn't I'm still hyped to see this very original take on the character. I've seen plenty of Godzilla movies in the past where you see him quite a bit and it quickly becomes redundant. I personally think the world is ready for an adult take on this character after 60 years.

@mikezilla15 sounds very possible, the claw strike muto and the beam G could be my favorites... I just want a small Godzilla, I dont care if doesnt make any sound or light, I just want that and a muto monster if comes out

The GMK Godzilla. Although the hunched over look didn't pan out and left its gut kind of huge, it was an otherwise fierce, massive and oddly mobile suit.

Never liked the G2K suit. Hated the green coloring and the purple spines-- which were way too big.

all 2 legged animals have had either long feet or split/long toes, imagine if humans had lion or elephant feet, it would be hard as it also makes it hard to balance.

Reply
godzillafan1995Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's Feet

gorrilawhale pillar legs are only evolved for 4 legged animals with a large width like sauropods and elephants to spread their lengh to all 4 legs , theopod type feet are designed for 2 legged animals as having sauropod legs would focus all their weight on the legs, having split toes spreads dinosaurs like t-rex's weight making it easier to walk and run.

Godzilla 2000! He had purple spikes, but his skin was still black. I LOVED that combination.

Akio123Godzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's Feet

Honestly, if they are that way..NO. Plus Im sure it'll look incredible anyway! The thing is, a crature for that size(As GORILLAWHALE) stated would NEED legs like those to walk. Thats why it was kinda weird to see the monster in Pacific Rim have T-Rex feet.

Personally, judging by Gareth Edwards directive style, he will HEAVILY build up the tension. To an extreme and artistic level. That director is incredible and unique. He knows his stuff. Also, the fact that he is a Godzilla fan himself, means he will bring justice. At the same time, he wants to make a realistic monster movie focused on the devastation and human element. As a few actors stated, the glimpses of Godzilla for the most part, will from a human point of view. Not EXACTLY throught their eyes everytime, but maybe from inside of a plane, or inside of car through the window(This is a summary of what they said basically). However, being that there are other monsters will also be things to play with artisticly. Im sure within the last 45 minutes, we will get amazing looks at Godzilla

@YOKOSHAI in regards to the storyboard.. actually, the person who stated that was most likely a troll, for he had no evidence whatsoever, so take that with a grain of salt.

Paddy_GorillaWhaleGodzilla 2014 ForumGodzilla's Feet

The feet don't bother me at all, quite like the design of them. If Godzilla himself is gonna have a bit more realism (ie: the 'gills') then an animal that big would need literally pillars for legs and big fat weight bearing feet to sustain that kind of immense mass. Realistically dinosaurian feet on something of Godzilla's size would cripple it!
