What about spacegodzilla I know a lot of people didn't like that movie but still he defeated godzilla by himself with out any outside help, hell it took two monster to actually destroy him
@WRSMOV: To be fair, John Carter was also not that good.
@MADISON: Hmmm, that's actually a viewpoint I hadn't thought about. I can see your point, though I certainly hope that that isn't the case.
@Chris: I can only hope so.
First Godzilla movie I ever saw. First Godzilla film I intend on showing my first son/daughter. It's such a great movie. That is all. No need to go into depth "oh King Kong is too small, blah blah blah, he can only throw rocks blah blah blah", oh, come on. It's a fun movie. Give me a break. Because if a giant moth can give Godzilla a run for his money, Kong proves to be Godzilla's biggest foe. I would have loved to see other Kong movies vs other Toho characters.
What I meant was I want to see the radiation beam in theaters, not in the tv screen
@GODZILLAFAN1995 Nah, think about this a little more logically. Does it really matter whether the trailer comes out before or during their next movie? Sure they get an extra few people to watch the movie just for the trailer, but in all reality, the trailer is just there to grab casuals to come and watch the movie. If they decided to release it before the movie it wouldn't hurt their goal of grabbing casuals in the first place.
thing is why hasn't anyone predicted the poster, why is everyone focused on predicting a trailer yet they don't/can't predict a poster. yeah i was jus on facebook casually then the offical uk godzilla page posts this poster and i was in shock
27th???....
27th thread on this topic?
27th Godzilla Movie? (Against MechaGodzilla or Tokyo S.O.S. depending on whether or not you count 1998, which I do)
27th is your dog's birthday? Not sure why I should care, but thanks for sharing
i'm guessing thats the trailer date predicted, i'm still sticking with 4th of march becuase it just seems more logical, becuase 1. 27th is on a thursday, the first trailer aired online on a tuesday (which is also said to be the best date for trailers) and 2. that date is the same week as 300:RoaE which is a WB and LP film
this pleases me..
That looks amazing! Thank you!
lmao the poster was out of nowwhere, saw it on facebook
Fantastic movie. There's a reason it's so iconic. It's the original "versus" movie. Freddy vs. Jason, Alien vs. Predator... all those cross-over, head-butting movies take cues from this one. None were as well done as King Kong vs. Godzilla.
The key to King Kong vs. Godzilla was that it didn't take itself seriously. Toho knew, even in the early 60s, this was a goofy match-up and Ishiro Honda treats it that way. It's a little more evident in the Japanese version that this film is practically a comedy. The American version tries to take the material too seriously and the contrast is pretty baffling since both Godzilla and King Kong are a bunch of clowns.
I love that, after the dark and serious original film, Ishiro Honda's second Godzilla film to date is a complete 180 of what he did with Godzilla's debut. He knows when certain moods are appropriate and going the light-hearted/comedic route with this movie showcases not only his own versitility, but Godzilla's as well.
Another big first is Akira Ifukube's music. Instead of using the Godzilla march from the original film he creates a whole new theme built in front of the lumbering motif used in the first movie. This of course becomes Godzilla's signature theme and has been used in most movies since King Kong vs. Godzilla, albiet, modified.
I don't think it's one of Honda's best, but it's a clear standout of the series. Love it or hate it, it's fairly easy to see why. What a riot of a good time!
I love this movie. Sure the Kong suit looks terrible but besides that it's such a fun monster mash I couldn't help but love it. It's 1 of the few "vs" movies that I can honstly say I really enjoy.
Sure Kong won and for a lot of people(especially on a Godzilla fan site) that may have been bad, but Kong was the more popular monster at the time, so the movie more closely revolved around him and he was the good guy. Godzilla wasn't backdoored or anything, so it's not like he didn't get enough screentime. Honestly the fact Godzilla lost doesn't bother me because it is made clear through the movie that Godzilla is the stronger of the monsters, but through perseverance and luck Kong came out on top. The ending doesn't even make it really seem like Godzilla lost. Kong comes up and swim away from the surface as all air breathing mammals would, and Godzilla stays under and swims away as he has in the past. It's implied that Kong won but you could argue a tie very easily.
A very enjoyable movie I'd recommend to fans of either series.
ah, i see, i still hope i can find the leaked picture though, it would be sweet
hmm havent heard of that, but no its not from that particular "leaked" image as you described above, its just me taking parts of my fanart and leaked godzilla pieces together
again just cutting and pasting so far, its still rough and wip, dont expect it to look anything like the below, all blurry and whatnot, its just preliminary cutting out and pasting before i actually texture it all and blend it all in
edit: just to clarify i dont know anything about that leaked stuff they are talking above, im just using preexisting stuff that has been released/I made
Hook a brother up and message it to me. Please...
haha, i just found out, and ive been doing exactly that, searching endlessly
You shouldn't have told me that. Now I'm going to dedicate my life to finding it...I'll be right back...
i heard that there was a leaked image, something with godzilla and a train, and that it poped up and got taken down within just a few minutes, considering how the teeth look really fuzzy, or even missing, it could be from that
Hm having read both books I concur that Nemesis could be in the running of being a monster equal to Godzilla. And both have some similarities apart from being giant monsters,
Both were iproducts of science meddling where it shouldn't have,
both were in innocent forms that were tragically altered by their respective catalyst to provide monsters of vengeance.
and both pick no sides when it comes to exacting their vengeance in the humans who unleashed their fury.
i highly recommend fans of Godzilla and kaiju in general give Project nemesis a viewing, it was an enjoyable read for me.
this is my first comment on the site, glad to be apart of it as we countdown to big G's arrival!
I want to know where that head came from. Like seriously, where the frak did he get that head stock image from. This is hilarious though, and couldn't be more convenient.
I've seen this before and it is hilarious. This has got some other videos lime this. To me the funniest one is the Transformers one.
Lol that is funny.
Everything was wrong with Zilla 1998.
That's a nice peace of work.
Yes, time to change my Godzilla 2000 wallpaper.
no prob, i know you cross posted this to tk just letting you know I made it
Godzilla kills King Kong in a filmed scene that was never released. Apparently Toho even still has photographs of this but anyways it was American involvement that dictated that it either be Kong or a tie.
As for the movie itself even as a young child I just couldn't get into it. King Kong looked ridiculous, especially with those arm extensions and the American cut is embarassing altogether. The included scenes of the news reports add nothing to the story and ruin the pacing plus the dub is horrendous. Also Ifukube's score was almost entirely replaced with stock music from other Universal films. I have a feeling the Japanese film is a decent entry but still nothing special.
I still think the Destroyah fight was incredibly boring. They just shot their rays back and forth at each other for what seemed like an eternity yet on this forum Destroyah is constantly referred to as Godzilla's most powerful foe. With Biollante the fight was incredibly short because it HAD to be. I've never seen two monsters destroy each other so quickly. Biollante's first attack easily pierces through Godzilla's shoulder and hand and than she tries to eat him and probably would have succeeded had Godzilla not fired his breathe directly into her mouth and blew out the back of her head. The only other kaiju fight that was that savage was Gamera vs. Irys. As for Godzilla's most powerful foes I'll pick Biollante and Mechagodzilla 74, maybe Kaiser Ghidorah for 3rd
I don't want Godzilla's radiation beam in the trailer. I rather experience it in trailers and be blown away. Im okay with destructionafter the beam.
I agree with Chris, once the trailer hits no one will be complaining anymore. Plus you don't eat Godzilla crackers, Godzilla crackers eat you.
Hmm that would be a pretty cool battle, but I still think the big G would pull through.
I'm baffled anyone can still complain after the badass poster they released today. Honestly, have some faith and stop bitching. I'm not saying that to be rude, I'm saying that in hopes that it will force you (and anyone else complaining) to give your heads a shake. The marketing is just heating up, sit back, relax and enjoy the show.
@INSTINCTIVEGIGAN Yea I'm not a big fan of the idea in general because of the same reason. But with todays technology and an extremely bigger Kong, a fight between the two could be pretty entertaining. Of course Godzilla has to win in the end though, lol.
Nemesis cheat sheet.
Height: 350'
Weaight: unknown, best guess 10 or 15 ton's.
Defense's: Impenitrable armor, amazeingly fast speed for her size.
Weaponry: Three clawed hands, and a trident like tail.
Super Weapons: Orange pustuals that contain a chemical mix so unstable that when introduced to oxygen causes an explosion that is so hot it instintly cremates anything in the blast area(like all of Boston for example. In her alternate form she gains the ability to refract light that instintly vaporises anything it touches, and is a proven Kaiju killer in the second book.
Bonus: through her origin's she has the ability to insta regenerate any injury(even losing her entire head and heart). And she hate's humans just as mutch as Godzilla
So with all that id say Nemesis is perfect for Godzilla's equal.
Ah I see why you'd think that considering you looked at CKC but im talking about the book project nemesis ill post a link. And I can understand where your coming from on the whole CKC thing because they WAY under power nemesis in that game, and belive me when you read what she can really do you will realise why nemesis is G's significent other.

I can't really see Nemesis beating Godzilla. CKC monsters don't really come up to par with the Big G in terms of raw power. After reading some info on her she seems to have a lot of weaknesses Godzilla can exploit. But that's just my opinion. Besides, Destroyah is definitely Godzilla's match; he's made from the very weapon that can hurt him after all; he's the Venom to Godzilla's Spider-man.
I think you mean TOHO, not TAHO.
