lyuztaven i dont know in wish part of mexico you live in but here in the tamaulipas-texas border everione knows that godzilla is japanece but many think that zilla is the first film godzilla

same thing here in the UK zilla is seen as the 'only' godzilla, we have had less to no exposure to toho's godzilla since the 90's compared to you guys in the states

Ya my thing is 3D in a regular theater is dark and grainy.  When i saw pacific rim the destruction being caused by the kaiju's is kinda hard to take all in.  IMAX is a whole different experience though, it really conveys the size. 

@ LINKMAN89 awesome, ill be checking this out in a 2D midnight release and then IMAX3D the next day to see Big G destroy EVERYTHING. lol

Yeah, we'll be trying to keep the reviews to our "Reviews" section on Scified, for Godzilla, which can be found at: http://www.scified.com/movie/godzilla-2014. Once the movie is out, the option to Rate & Review will become available.

Going to try to keep as many reviews off the forums as possible, so we can also minimize early spoilers. Plus the reviews will not spoil anything in the titles, since only the body text is previewed and you need to manually click to read the entire thing. Much better system for reviewing than the forums.

I support anti-spoiler stuff anyday, I hate the concept of ruining stuff for people whether it be myself or someone else. But I do believe that everyone should be allowed to make spoiler/spoiler-free reviews of the film once they've seen it. For example, I hope to see Godzilla opening night and post a spoiler-free review as soon as I reach my computer, but someone may want to find a spoiler-filled review that gives specifics.

There should definitely be a system, but my real concern is BEFORE the film spoilers.

i think that godzilla 2nd trailer will be releasesd along with 300 roae....who was the dumbass that said it was going to be released with the robocop remake? its not even a warner bros or legendary flick!!....as soon as i saw that i knew that there were going to be a lot of people who were going to be disappointed on the 14th.....plus that same day, the number of qualude use shot up dramatically as did sea monkey deaths. the incidents have yet to show any links to the rumored trailer release since conrete evidence wasnt produced yet albeit a compelling display of the aforementioned that fatefull day. 

i live in nyc and 300 roae will be released here on the 7th of march....so thats when i would logically expect warner bros and legendary to release that second trailer....it makes sense and the turnout for the new 300 movie should be a good one therefore the king of monsters trailer attached to that is a good marketing move, is it not?

Yeah, I don't like wearing the goggles for 3-D, and even with them on it kinda hurts my eyes.

I much prefer just the regular IMAX experience. But ultimately, I'm going to see the movie at midnight on release day, regardless of the format, so I guess I'm just at the mercy of my local theater's choice. 

"Zilla is Godzilla"

Unfortunately I have to agree with that small phrase. Here in Mexico over 97% of the people think that Zilla is the original "Godzilla", and that the actual japanese Godzilla is a low budget rip off of Zilla.

Here in Mexico, people were very confused when Godzilla 2000 came out on movie theaters, a lot were like "Damn japanese! Why did they stole Godzilla from the americans!" and that false belief still persists (really strong) until this day.

Sorry folks, we've got to admit that Zilla overshadowed and banished the original Godzilla for mainstream audiences, so "Zilla is Godzilla" for the average moviegoer. Hopefully Godzilla (2014) will change that forever.

Zilla is Godzilla. 

Not my FAVORITE Godzilla, but Godzilla nonetheless. The movie was not any worse than most other Godzilla films, and in fact was BETTER than several of them (Godzilla's Revenge anyone?)

Yes, I know Toho has tried to disassociate the 1998 film from the continuity, but that type of fanboyism is an uphill battle that is just going to confuse and alienate people in the general public....whom need to be on our side if 2014 is going to be successful.

It's the same in ANY other franchise when studios update or change a classic character and comic book neckbeards get enraged about things that are now different.....the general public DOES NOT CARE about fanboy trifles. No purpose is served by trying to enforce it. Just let em' be. Transfer that energy instead to trying to build hype for the new movie.

I don't enjoy movies in 3D, but I really would like to see it in IMAX. I find myself in a predicament if there is no 2D IMAX>

Yeah why would you expect an an average person in IRAN to know who Godzilla was? They heavily restrict western media and entertainment over there. 

In the U.S. everyone I've brought up the character with knew who he was. Where most people here seem to be in the dark is the fact that a new movie is coming out. They either don't realize a new movie is approaching, or think all the buzz is just over a re-release of the original 1954 film. 

How is it that some of the Godzilla 2014 toys are for pre order on ebay already?

I personally think 3D would be freaking amazing in theaters, but that's just my opinion.

I am not actually suprised by that. While I do not know someone personally who is unaware of Godzilla, it is really not a shock or wonder to me. There are several people around the world who are not aware of who Godzilla is. This is especially the case in our youth generation here in western culture who would not know. This is due to the fact that there is hardly anything of Godzilla shown on TV or any new films that have been released since Final Wars in 2004. The unfortunate thing is that many people do not take Godzilla seriously, and thus, less people are exposed to Godzilla's films, books, games, and so forth. 

Killing people and destroying buildings of course.

Back when Prometheus was released, I developed an automated spoiler warning system which would post a big spoiler warning on topics for those wishing to avoid such things. But the Staff and now Moderators will be working to try to keep spoilers to a minimum.

Basically, no spoiler content revealed in the title, for example (not a real spoiler): "The MUTO is actually Baragon!!" - A topic like that would need to be censored and the staff here reserve the right to do so as a courtesy to those who don't see the film on opening night.

Don't worry, we'll be keeping a lock down on spoilers. ;) At least for the first 2 weeks. Then, if you haven't seen Godzilla after 2 weeks, you're gonna have to endure some spoilers, hahaha.
