If Rodan DID happen to be in the movie, that would be awesome and I would be thrilled. But if he's not, please don't get too angry with the film. I really want this movie to do well and I don't want to see fans disappointed with it like with the 1998 one.

interesting theory, i would just hope they dont hold something like that till the very end of the movie, i know i want to see the true godzilla as much as possible! maybe, somewhere around the middle with hints being dropped throughout the film.

THIS is not that far off from the story line of Gojira raids again. The "muto' toy.. looks too (man made) obvious to be an ancient foe... unlike ANGUIRUS... who is an ancient foe of Gojira. My money is on a creature like Anguirus. as well as other monsters. MABEY even a second yet smaller Godzilla. I can't wait.. but I'll have to.

I love a healthy debate as well, but when it spirals into something else it's not worth keeping open.

Well lets just put it like this , if when the film comes out it happens that , well ... there is no Rodan ,  you are gonna be frustrated and probably the movie its going to suck for you and all the people who are trying to convince themselves that Rodan is in it , because you all had all this theorys an hints in your head and hands , and at the end they meant noting ... BUT... if it does happens that Rodan is in the film or was in the film this whole time , and Gareth along with Legendary did a great work hidding the Kaiju, well lets just all be happy that we are gonna get to see  , an updated Rodan , BRAND NEW MONSTERS [Mutos] , AND GODZILLA , and all the theorys of Rodan are gonna be right , lets just leave it like this ok? ... move on.  

This isn't really "evidence" per say, but the description on the leaked giant Godzilla toy says that Godzilla is driven out of the ocean by an ancient foe that threatens his life. This monster, of course, would have to be aquatic in order to drive Godzilla out of the ocean, and the MUTOs we have seen don't exactly look aquatic, now do they? It seems likely to me that the eight-legged and winged MUTOs will emerge from an underground cave system in the Nevada desert, while another, much more powerful monster will emerge from the ocean later in the film, chasing after Godzilla.

So the answer is in these videos, if anyone has an idea of what it is, post it here and we can discuss!

This is the trailer discussion at about 8:40 they discuss Rodan... Which with this one video means nothing because it's just speculation..

This is after they saw 20 minutes of the movie and the "big surprise scene" they talk about how they are not aloud to mention what it is but they say in their rewind theature (first link) they guessed it right. Now there is not many speculations made in the video, except the Rodan Speculation. i just found that interesting.

Yes it's real, that first clip is the ComiCon trailer. It is the trailer people got to see at last year's ComicCon. That creature shown is the MUTO every one was on about a few weeks back. It's personally my favorite trailer so far.

None of us have seen the film, so nobody can 100% say yes or no to any of these assumptions. Just because it's severely unlikely does not mean it's a stupid discussion. Yes, the answer is March 14th, NECA had tweeted to a fan asking that very same question. 

That last post was a joke, see the parenthesis...this thread is just a theory from IGN that i found, we are all entitled to opinions, i appreciate yours and i think there is a large possibility Rodan isnt in it... But based on my research i think he is. Thank you for presenting a very thoughtful rebuttle though!

Everyone has a right to their own opinions. But let's all see the movie before we call our opinions 'facts'. And that goes to everyone, not just Anthony.

*Sigh* Guys, when Gman commented on here I think he meant for everyone to stop arguing. Anthony, I really like Rodan- I love dinosaurs and he's really pterosaur-like, so he's definitely one of my most favorite Godzilla monsters. But a lot of us have heard everything Gareth has said, and he has pretty much confirmed there won't be ANY of the old monsters in this movie. Like you, it would thrill me, and I would love to see a Toho monster in it, but we have more evidence AGAINST it than PROVING it, or even calling it possible.

In the trailer breakdown video with Gareth, you can clearly tell by what he says about starting from scratch that he actually didn't WANT to put a Toho monster in the film. If he did, why not do it to begin with? Why even make a new monster? Yeah, the idea of designing a new monster AND including an old one is a cool idea, but I think like Junkerde is saying about it being the denial part of us talking, we just like the idea too much and are trying to prove it by putting things together that we're calling 'evidence' that isn't even evidence. Now I'll repeat that I really like Rodan just like you, and I would be happy to find out that I'm wrong, but from what we've all heard and seen so far it's just... too unlikely.

And last, there's no need to be so rude about it. If you believe Rodan will be in the movie that's up to you, but please everyone stop getting on each others case and try to get along. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, and shouldn't be slammed for stating what they believe.

I was wondering that myself. I mean, I love the toys we've gotten so far and I'm going to try to get as many of them as I can, but I really, REALLY wanna see the NECA action figures.

Regardless, I'm excited for this. My theory on the two Godzillas is that it may be a Gorgo type reveal. That the really big Godzilla shows up at end. When they shoot the flares up at Godzilla, that thing is way bigger than any other in the film, unless he is growing the whole time. And that may not even be in the movie, when King Kong came out they had a scene with Ann screaming and Kong roaring that never made it in. Cant wait!

I love you Rodan lover's who are in denial, Rodan isn't in the movie. It's ok to cry , just learn to let it go and understand there will be no Rodan. You keep putting out "facts" but it's the denial talking. Here's how to solve that problem

I think you're confusing the use of amphibian as an adjective with the noun referring to a class of animals. Modern amphibians are all members of the clade Lissamphibia, and as a class, it is a paraphyletic taxon that includes all tetrapods that are not amniotes.
