MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 6:51 AMWell seeing as we now know that the eight legged muto and the flying specimen are of the same species or possibly even the same animal, that means that there will most likely be more types of muto than we expected as having just these two will make for a bland movie indeed and from what we have heard so far that will not be the case. I also have a strong feeling that the comic con creature will appear, I don't know why I just really feel it will. Some people also mentioned an aquatic creature etc. so....let me know your thoughts.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 7:46 AMSo I'm definitely of the opinion that there will be more than two types of MUTO in the movie.
However, I do think on the whole, we are getting generally entitled and upset over promises Edwards and Legendary NEVER made.
We got ourselves worked up about the "two Muto" theory, "Winged Muto" and "8-Legged Muto" and other 'multiple monster' stuff from leaks and toys that we were never supposed to see.
Legendary NEVER promised us multiple kinds of Muto. Maybe there will be only ONE type of Muto, just multiple individuals of the same type. Somtimes it flies, sometimes it doesn't.
People criticizing the vision, design, or blandness seem to be forgetting that it's only bland if Legendary said they would be designing two different types of original monsters and that's what they came up with. Except they NEVER promised that. Those are words we've shoved into their mouths with leaks, and are now getting upset with them over false promises we made to ourselves on their behalf.
I dunno, regardless of how many monsters are in the movie, I think many of our perspectives about the similarity between the monsters thus far is skewed.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 8:03 AMOh ya, we have definitely been eating up all this leaks stuff me included at times, I was just saying that if that eight legged and winged species is the only type in the movie many are going to complain that they were lazy in design and ripped off cloverfeild blah, blah. I actually like the designs but you know there will be people just itching to put the film down.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 8:25 AMThere is also still the possibility of more godzillas. I'm stil in two minds about this however as they could take away from the king himself but make for a more stunning visual in the movie?

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 8:41 AMTwo Godzilla's is an interesting notion. It has the potential to be BADASS. Kinda like Predators, where they have two of them brawl. Not saying that movie on the whole was good or anything, but that scene was totally awesome. After establishing what a BEAST the Predator is in the first two films, you get a major adrenaline rush when you realize they are about to go head to head. Godzilla could easily achieve a similar effect.....
....but I feel that might be running into the Spiderman 3 syndrome for this particular movie, where they try to cram too much into a single film.
Like, first you have Godzilla, then you have Muto's, then a second Godzilla? AND we got human characters to focus on?
That seems like a tall order if they are going to do each of those elements justice.
I'm not opposed to the idea of two Godzilla's in principle, but it needs to be done right. Right now the movie just looks a little crowded to do it right. But who knows. Maybe in a sequel?
As far as the "surprise" speculation everyone has been doing for the HALO jump and train scene.....I really do feel like those are just regular old MUTO scenes.
You've got to keep mind that while we Godzilla fans already KNOW there are going to be multiple monsters in the movie.....the general public is JUST NOW catching HINTS that it might be a thing. So for those who are only casually following this film's development, who only think Godzilla will be in it, the appearance of a MUTO at any time at all, would the make the movie "400% more awesome" as it's being put.
We've just got to keep in mind, we already know WAY MORE about this film than the average movie goer. So something that would make it 400% more awesome for us at this point would have to be pretty over the top. What's 400% more awesome for general audiences is PROBABLY something we know about already and isn't going to surprise us.
Sad but true. Such are the consequences of following a film's development so closely.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 8:59 AMWhy can't we all just kick back and wait for Gareth to surpirise us?
Life is very simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 9:17 AMThat's a good theory, but Idk the article I read said fans of godzilla will be super exited for the surprise.
Evan123
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 9:33 AMUgh....can't wait for that surprise. I haven't a notion of what it could be though and I don't want to spoil it either. Feel free to speculate though, that's all we can do after all haha.

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 10:42 AMi guess they look a little bit alike, but pretty much just in the shape of the limbs, everything else looks different to me. besides, i wouldn't be to worried about people complaining, because most people probably don't even remember that movie, and of those who do, even fewer know what the clover creature actually looks like.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 10:48 AMYa definitely, good point GODZILLA HIMSELF.

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 12:18 PMcomparing those two pics it doesn't really look that similar...I mean look at the way the arms bend, and the head again

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 1:49 PMRegardless, I'm excited for this. My theory on the two Godzillas is that it may be a Gorgo type reveal. That the really big Godzilla shows up at end. When they shoot the flares up at Godzilla, that thing is way bigger than any other in the film, unless he is growing the whole time. And that may not even be in the movie, when King Kong came out they had a scene with Ann screaming and Kong roaring that never made it in. Cant wait!

GODZILLA HIMSELF
MemberMothra LarvaeMar-08-2014 3:38 PMinteresting theory, i would just hope they dont hold something like that till the very end of the movie, i know i want to see the true godzilla as much as possible! maybe, somewhere around the middle with hints being dropped throughout the film.
king of the monsters

MemberMothra LarvaeMar-09-2014 1:50 AMI have a theory. I'm pretty sure I'm right, and a little disappointed I may have spoiled it for myself, so.... spoilers?
Hint: Think of the movie "Rodan"
There are two mutos, a winged one and one without wings, like ants. Male ants have wings, females do not. The Mutos are the same (evidence: 'Winged' and '8 legged' muto toy descriptions) with one male and one female. The 'tentacle' in the trailer holding onto the nuclear missile is not a tentacle (evidence: Empire Trailer breakdown). It is an egg sac leeching the radiation out of it (evidence:Leaked Origin story ), and the troopers are parachuting into the city to stop it from hatching and unleashing muto hell on earth (hence the soldier looking at the egg sac), using Godzilla's battle with the Mutos for cover. BADA BING BADA BOOM.
