also, i really hope that they have the blue glowing spines. godzillas atomic breath will not be the same without it.

its like, the last thing to make me totally satisfied with this godzilla (aside from all the "godzilla with fins, because realism!", which im not really a big fan of)

Iris is cool. But really, why would they include a monster from a different company in this particular Godzilla film?

So after releasing awesome posters, they decide to put out a shit one to balance it out. Using the universal "cut and paste" godzilla head. Wtf.

It's hard to say because Gareth is focusing alot of time on the story rather than Big G himself. In an Empire interview he states that movie's story will have an emotional depth to it while simultaneously instilling  a subtle fear in us. Infact I remeber he say's and I quote "If this movie dosen't make you close to tears, I will have failed as a director. I started a discussion like this a month ago and everyone on the thread seemed to agree it's a pretty big step he's taking from conventional monster movies, so I highly doubt it will recieve anywhere close to a 6 on IMDB. Besides you shoulden't really trust these websites very often. Rotten Tomatos critics are very genre biased and I know there are many movies they've judged quite injustly and poorly. Metacritic I'm not too sure though. And IMDB seems to give every movie a 7 or higher on average. Although if you still trust these websites atleast do a little comparison between them to help make a solid judgement!

I would buy it, just to get a closer look at this design. To hold it in my hands. And ask the heavens why we didnt get this thing.

Sad that movie never got made, I often wonder how different things would have been if it had.

I could see the film havin' stop motion, suitmation and animatronics. It would have at least been a nice looking film.

Plus Godzilla being the good guy gets a thumbup from me.

Either way, I love the proportions of this Godzilla-- if you look at the concept art, this Godzilla was going to have the same cat-like reflexes as GINO, but with an actual atomic breath.

Why don't we also do this with the "Two godzilla's mating/fighting in Sanfran?" or the "there is eleventy mutos in the movie" or the "godzilla is sleep walking in the first trailer."

Honestly though, Rodan deserves his OWN movie seperate from Godzilla. The original Rodan film is probably my all time favorite giant monster movie of the Showa era.

Previous sarcastic comments aside, I don't know if I can adequettely list all the fallacies here. But it's fun to try...

Chances are below zero that Iris is in the movie considering it's is owned by Daiei. Toho would have to okay that as well and they've never wanted to do business with Daiei. And the idea of four studios agreeing on something (Warner Brothers, Legendary, Toho, Daiei) and settling on the rights issues would be about as likely as finding an ice cube in the Sahara desert. Plus, if Legendary were to use an existing monster to fight Godzilla they would go with something more popular and readily available from Toho's catalogue, since that's the studio they're doing business with. Why would they use another monster, from another studio's franchise that has been in one movie that is largely unknown in the west?

But yes. It would be a cool idea if caution were thrown completely to the wind. Why not...
