That wouldn't match up with what we've heard about the origins of the Mutos so far. The toy descriptions say that the Mutos are old enemies of Godzilla's that are as ancient as he is.
Plus, this would probably be a bit too kooky for what Gareth Edwards has said is supposed to be a plausible and realistic portrayal of such giant monsters.
You must have had a bad dream or something. Sounds like you dreamt about The Thing.
Loved how they used this music
Umm pretty good theory for a kids movie yeah
Creature Violence? Not "Traditional Godzilla Violence?" That tends to be the reason for all rated Godzilla films. No, not this time? Okay.
No. Just, no. And also I'm the only Gigan around these parts.
That's not how science works
At all
even b-movies from 50s weren't that silly.
You should probably go to sleep
I first saw the trailer in 3D IMAX before the new 300 and also saw it for Captain America. The 3D DOES look better than for most movies. It may have been intended for one way but they've done more than just slap crappy 3D on a good movie it's really well done. Also that roar at the end always has some people jump in their seats placing their hands over their ears like they're cowering... Which is awesome!!!
Say what you will about the 1998 Godzilla film, the way Godzilla (or Zilla in 98's case) makes landfall with the spikes going through the water had become iconic because of that movie. No other Godzilla before that movie had that awesome feature and quite a few times since have mimiced it, including apparently this one.
I'm pretty sure he was in other films with Mifune, but the only one springing to mind right now is Stray Dog, which I felt was a bigger win for Mifune than Shimura.
By the 50s he seemed to be involved with sci-fi, drama and samurai films in equal parts. He also appeared in Godzilla Raids Again, The Mysterians (one of Toho's top best sci-fi films), Mothra, Ghidorah: The Three Headed-Monster and Frankenstein Conquers the World.
He sticks out most in Godzilla '54, of course. (I love the subtle nuances he brings to Yamane, adjusting his tie as he speaks in at the Diet building and what not.) However his Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster role had always been somethin of a fun, surprise appearance to me. He's enjoyable in that as well.
I'm a little confused at people listing off characters from the new movie seeing as no one has seen it yet. What if the characters suck? As weak as the characters are in GINO, even listing them would make more sense...
So we know 2 MUTOs will be in the film. Is there anymore I wonder?
No way?!?!?!?! Dude, that is awesome! :D Lucky!
Haha credit goes to Rex for highlighting that. And yes, I agree, everyone's excited!
And I'm even more excited now cos I just checked, its showing in cinemas in my area on 15th May and there are sneak preview slots on 14th May ! :D
Horay!!!!!!!!!! I will go in IMAX because very large screen and 3D also and very large sound!!!!!M
@Destroyah-X:
It really is misleading! Accidents do happen though.
And I apologize for my language. We aren't here to fight, we are here to share our excitement for the new film and love of Godzilla. :)
If it is indeed Google's ass-mistake in stating 98 minutes similar to Gojira 1954, then I'm kinda glad to know that cos Im not happy that its just an hour and 38 minutes ya know. It's misleading ! Darn, Google just made An Ass Out Of Me LOL !
Overall it looks great but when he roars....it look bad.
It could possibly also use it's whiskers as a poisoning/paralyzing device.
It would most likely become deep-fried sushi for Godzilla but it could be interesting monster if it was done right.
@Godzillasaurus Rex:
OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had competely forgotten about that! DUUUHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Google really needs to fix that!
Ignore my last post! :) Max Borenstein is vindicated!
Sorry, I might've worded that wrong.
Google thought the re-release of "Gojira" to be a new film and got it confused with the real new film.
With that out of the way, I guess Garyzilla's original question hs now been answered. 98 minutes is kind of dissapointing. I don't know what the heck to make of Borenstein's Tween now. Was he drunk? Was he screwing with the fans? Its unlikely he would blow 98 minutes up to 2 hours via rounding, nor is it likely he was lying. Runtimes are usually released after the MPAA releases their rating, which they now have. I'm still hoping something isn't quite acurate with 98 minutes, but I'll live with it if its that length. Plenty of the Godzilla films are shorter than that, and are still good films.
And I'm guessing you completley ignored the fact that in your image, it says the release date is April 18th, which is the same day the original Gojira gets re-released and also has the same runtime of the original Gojira, which is 98 minutes.
Google just got the movies confused and thought of them as the same movie.
I was LITERALLY just about to post the same pictures you just did. Apparently my computer didn't search Google right the first time. It was there clear as day the second time. I beg, dare I say BESEECH you, to forgive me.
Your smart ass-ness is greatly appreciated.
Haha are you sure Google is silent or are you in denial? If you do not trust Google, then you would have to trust Warner Brothers/Legendary isn't it? Screen grabs provided:

And clicking the poster of Godzilla which states ' 98 minutes' directs you to Godzilla 2014's Official Google+ Account Page for your info. Oh yeah sure, 1:30 is placeholder time lol.

Max Borenstein's Twitter from December 30, 2013:
Well made, boy. That is artist-worthy to me, bro.
I can't find any information on the runtime. Google is silent on the matter, and nothing on IMDB yet. Could you link to where you read this?
Also, didn't one of the scriptwriters tweet that he had seen a rough cut of the film, and couldn't wait for the world to "see the full two hours"? 1 hour and thirty-eight minutes sonds like the old 1:30 placeholder time to me.
Oh god(zilla) this is confusing, help me someone please all these numbers are making my head hurt.
Having said that u know i thought 1hr 38 mins is kinda short?
Geez lol oops glaring typo there thanks for correcting Gojifan I'm typing from my phone here so the keyboard is cranky, Godzilla is 98 minutes and Zilla 98 is 140 minutes. Argh i got mixed up cos in my mind i kept thinking Godzilla 2014 is 1 hr 38 minutes (98 mins) . i got zilla 98 wrong cos i was thinking 1 hr 40 mins when zilla runs 140 mins :X
I have another question, how comw u said first, "The movie duration is 138 mins." and now ur sying it's "98 mins"?
Er ...its quite simple basically , i just used my Google Now app, and every time i search for a movie theres a big box that appears with an official poster of the movie with the cast, director and the movie duration in a huge font. It states ' Godzilla 2014, 98 minutes.'
I do search on other movies as well and info displayed is accurate? The Amazing Spider Man 2 is going at 152 mins btw, just saying :P
