We're Godzilla dependent :)
I love the powerless humanity angle, I love the idea that we are 'screwed' without Godzilla's help.
Just saying, but this is kinda old news. Still, sounds awesome!
Yeahh i agree too tarrellzilla, somehow the cgi looks much better in that vid
Sorry, great vid but it has already been posted!
That was actually quite awesome. A lot of shots in the trailers are so fast that you can never fully digest them, but with this video I'm really "wowed" at some of the parts. This made me appreciate the cgi even more, it looks spectacular at points. The last shot of Godzilla roaring is my favorite!
in my opinion all the godzilla movies are in one universe and thhere are many godzillas for example there is the godzilla 2000 godzilla then there is the 1954 godzilla as well in the same universe is zilla
Making Godzilla the prey would kinda defeat his force a nature status. The rivals idea is WAY better IMO.
I always though Godzilla as a thinking animal, to a degree. He always knows who his allies are. He has many tricks up his sleeve...so to speak for example the drop kick he used on Megalon in Godzilla vs Megalon. He just seems like an intellegent animal. That's how I view Godzilla, as a intelligent creature who doesn't rely on sheer instinct alone.
Oh ya okay, sorry. I just thought that was still a possibility.
why is everyone so negative? the first time i found it was when my instagram followers showed me that pic. until then i only thought it was just godzilla. it was a new find for him so let it be.
Actually the whole godzilla is prey thing was scrapped. Now they just have it to where they were both rivals. If they decided to keep it then that would suck in my opinion.
@gtbetta35
I'll be seeing it at the Palisades Center IMAX in West Nyack, NY aswell! It'd be nice for it to be shown in 15/70mm film, but digital can't be that bad. Hey, you think you could hook me up with a discount haha. :D
Nice! This is legit stuff, cool work!
Trivia section on IMDb. Every movie has these facts. It's always fun to read them about your favourite movies. Quentin Tarantino's films usually have the most interesting ones.
Thanks for the share, I wasn't aware of that first fact you posted. I'll be looking for thoe scars.
This is a great question and it's one I've considered myself. I do believe that we will see some form of cognitive thought when it comes to Godzilla in this movie. Gareth explained awhile back that the fighting in the movie was inspired by Bears and Komodo Dragons. While watching a video of said species fight one another it became very clear that what we might get is lots of grappling and shoving with clawing and biting. That in itself can be entertaining to see colossal beast behave that way in a city landscape. But maybe that's not quite dramatic enough? As a nod to the original Godzilla and fans of the series I fully expect to see him be a bit inventive with his attacks. Like maybe hurling a flaming tank or aircraft at a Muto or pinning one down with his massive foot while pulling limbs free. I personally would love to see that. He might even take a smaller Naval ship like a cruiser and lift it out of the water and bash the troops on the Golden Gate Bridge with it. One can dream. Lol!
Having looked back through this and reread the post, I just noticed the slanderous bit against ICP fans.
Being a former fan myself, I request kindly it either be removed or changed. Also, I ask that no one start throwing mud because I said this.
How would you like it if someone called you an "inbred, felonious, mouth-breather?" I'm sure you'd be quite offended, no matter what they happen to be a fan of.
It's really childish, actually, that you even bothered to type that.
Well the second one was in a few interviews, but the third one is totally new to me lol
@Trickkelly, I was about to say that. If Godzilla has the ability to solve problems like a raven, then the mutos are in giant trouble.
That was awesome dude!
It'd be cool to see Goji take risks in order to rid the Mutos, somewhat like how Godzilla 2000 literally threw himself into Orga's mouth in order to blow off his upper body.
Very awesome!
P.s. Love profile pic
A link that doesn't work...
Encore un lien qui marche pas. BAH BRAVO MORRAY!
Pretty awesome, this seems like something that doesn't happen very often.
P.S @MikeyNamez This is in Hollywood.
Interesting discussion. I'm probably making this connection b/c I've recently watched Gojira (1984), but I imagine Godzilla to have the same ability to solve problems and manipulate the enviroment as, perhaps a raven. Experiments have shown these birds to be rather intelligent and able to complete fairly complex puzzles.
That model in the Edwards pic really bothers me. I can't see how that is the final design with the head beingso ridiculously small. It doesn't seem to match the Jakks Pacific figure or the stills we've seen from the trailer. Maybe instead of an Oxygen Destroyer, the humans send in a witch doctor.
Very cool, where was that at?
If these creatures are to display themselves as more than ordinary creatures, a level of cognition beyond mere expected animal intelligence will be required. And, not being a completely biologically evolved species does help, changing the way you look, act, and think over time. I don't expect them to be performing complex equations and whatnot or acting like stereotypical cavemen, but I do think that them recognizing certain threats and dealing with them a bit more creatively than the average animal should be expected if this cognition is to be desired.
He'll be smart enough to drop an antigravity Megalon dropkick on the mutos.
Yes she did actually, I forgot about otachi, she probably shows the most menacing and sinister personality of all the kaiju and I think the muto creatures will possibly behave in a way like her while godzilla, I think, will have a more neutral and innocent personality!
Just my thoughts, no real evidence, just speculating!
I actually do think godzilla will have the cognative ability to use objects around him as weapons. The kaiju in pacific rim, leatherback especially was seen to uproot a crane from the ground and use it to club a jaeger. Who is to say godzilla will not possess the same intelligence!
If they decided to make a figure of Monster X, there would go all my money. Right there. Every cent. I really hope they choose to produce a figure of him someday.
