It was my understanding that the Godzilla vs Megalon Blu was shelved because the US distributer and Toho couldn't agree on content/special features? Hell, even Amazon.com lists it as unavailable.

I agree with THEGMAN123. It makes sense. Godzilla would need to cool down his body with all that nuclear fission in his body. Plus his body would need to warm up before a combat situation so he isn't slow and sluggish in a fight.

Now, I might be getting my facts wrong here and it just isn't biologically possible, but what if Godzilla could actually switch between the being cold and warm blooded? Warm blooded during active periods where there's no worry of overheating his nuclear reactor of a body, cold blooded when it's time to cool off and rest up a bit. If that doesn't work, alright then. Just make it partial warm/cold blooded, like leatherback turtles.

You don't need to be a mammal to be warm blooded. Great white sharks are warm blooded, for example.

A creature of his size would have to be warm blooded in order to survive.

It definetly would be interesting to see what blood type he is.

Its all a big misunderstanding. You see, Serkis was a consultant on Godzilla, he did NOT do his sounds OR mo-cap.

Going on what InstinctiveGigan and Junkerde said, all Gypsy Danger is to Godzilla is a snack. It doesn't even matter what Godzilla would do, his reflexes as an amphibious animal make him more than capable of shredding a giant mech of its existence. That, and any other Jaeger that picks a fight with Godzilla, is pretty much doomed to fail.

As for fighting Ben 10, Ben 10's Omnimatrix is only capable of taking on alien DNA. With the aliens I am aware of in his arsenal, there is no chance in Hades that Ben will ever have a chance. Even if he could, somehow, obtain the DNA of one of Godzilla's alien foes, the creature is only as good as Ben is, and there is no way he'd ever be able to adjust to such a large creature as one of them.

Just my thoughts.

This is actually a really, really good question. I wonder if they'll address this in the movie/book/prequel comic?

If a King Kong vs Godzilla remake ever happens it'd be interesting to see which character he chooses lol

After recently making it all the way to Godzilla vs Biollante in my somewhat Godzillathon I can honestly say my new favorite character in the whole series so far is Lt. Goro Gondo. He's so likeable and added excitement to all of his scenes. Watching his die actually really meant something to me this time. I can't believe I had not paid attention to this character. 

I honestly don't know how Adrien Brody gets work. Granted, I haven't seen all of the movies he's ever been in but every movie I have seen with him I find his character usually the weakest in the film, but his portrayal of Jack was just bad, plain bad and having such a boring person as a main role of the film definitely makes it less likable for me. Maybe that's why he's paired with Jack Black, Black bring emotions and excitement to his part while Adrien Brody jsut mumbles some words and hopes some1 out there grows attached in some weird way to his character.

It's sad no new DVD versions are getting released of those 2 titles. I own the double feature for all the heisei and they are really very low quality. Don't even have the option of watching them subbed in original formats, only dubbed sad I can only watch the dubbed version of Vs Destroyah, my favorite Godzilla move, even if the dub isn't all that bad I wish I could see the original format

Andy Serkis is also responsible for the great "Cesar" in the two modern movies of the “Planet of the Apes”.

He has earned a reputation among the science fiction fans, possibly reaching the level of great modern legends like Stan Winston.

Classic Media has said they have no interest in acquiring the rights to any other Godzilla titles. However, a new company called Kraken Releasing has recently bought the rights to Godzilla vs. the Sea Monster, Godzilla vs. Hedorah and Godzilla vs. Gigan. Sci-Fi Japan writer, Keith Aiken, also mentioned on facebook that another company has acquired the rights to Son of Godzilla and Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. He was not at liberty to say who it was, when they would be released or on what format they would be on.

You're dead on. It's also why pop songs worked for many of the 1970s Godzilla movies and not the original. (That and the fact theme songs were very popular amongst kids which those films were aimed at.)

In a sense, it seems the pop song strategy in the 1970s movies still works on the younger crowd as evident with this thread...

While locking your topic I gave you the policies page where it clearly points out why we do this and what qualifies to be in the Merchandising Thread, it says there plain as day that includes reviews and if you have anything YOU feel should be a seperate discussion to message a moderator/administrator about it to see if it's good. I doubt you read it but if you did than coming here and complaining about it in an entirely different topic becomes even more unnecessary.

Any other points I could make has already been said, rather nicely, by JUNKERDE so I'm closing this topic as well.

As junkerde stated, Andy Serkis did the motion capture for Godzilla. This was also used for the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. They just CGI'd over him. It's actually quite cool how they do it. Better than wearing a rubber suit.

I like the fact that it's not true and he's not doing the roar. He did the mo-cap, that's why he's credited as Godzilla. Let's not inform the forums with false info, we all know how THAT turned out that "last time".

that's why the merchandising thread is stickied, and that's what the merchandise thread is for. New stuff, it's not a mystery. They've been adding new merch ever since, it's always updating. It's to avoid less clutter because people complain about how "clogged" the recent discussions list is, and thats because you need to post merch in the merch thread to avoid that.

That's the whole point of the merch thread, for you to post new merch stuff. It's common practice among forums to sticky posts and leave things less cluttered. That's why things are so "clogged" here as users complain, because no one is posting things in those stickied threads. This is still a new forum, but it still needs to mature with time and making stickied threads is part of that maturing process.

I would strongly prefer it if they just stick with Desplat's original score for the film. I would be willing to tolerate them possibly playing the original old instrumental Godzilla theme sometime during the credits, but that would be about it. 

I can't see how a pop song (original or otherwise) would fit with this movie as a dark or serious film.

Very, very VERY few movies can get away w/ pop songs attached to them unless the film is lighthearded in the first place, or unless the movie just wants to unwittingly degrade itself.

Skyfall is the only exception I can think of in recent history. 

For Godzilla, it's just not worth the gamble. Stick with Desplat! :-)

A) Gypsy Danger has never faced a power like Godzilla, non of the kaiju in Pacific Rim reach that sort of power. Plus what JUNKERDE said.

B) Ben 10 would lose to Godzilla so fast it's not even funny.
