Ratedrex pretty much nailed it. The earlier the reviews are the more confident the studio is in it.

My guess it's the winged muto since it has the ability to fly and getting to Vegas would not be a problem. In the extended trailer there is a scene of troops opening a door that leads to the outside. You get a quick glimpse of detroyed city and ruins in daylight. The scenery looks like the Vegas landscape. Maybe the winged Muto, presumably the female senses the prescence of her mate in area 51 in Nevada and breaks him out. They have already said that she is much bigger and stronger then the male. My guess is they wreak havoc in Vegas then leave to head towards Hawaii. She becomes impregnated by her mate then goes somewhere to lay her egg leaving the male alone. Then there is a confrontation between the male and Godzilla at the Hawaii airport. The male gets his ass handed to him. Then later in San Francisco we have the finale between mom,baby muto and Godzilla. Sounds good to me.

IGN visited the set, they were told it was the skeleton of an ancient Godzilla.

I truly do hope that this detail is never explained in full. I like imagining what the possibilities might be of at least a few individuals being leftover, or vice-versa and how he truly is alone. In fact, perhaps isolation from each other is what would eventually drive the species to technical extinction. How lonely would Godzilla be then? It's clear that he's no mere animal. He's bigger than that, figuratively and literally. If he does feel emotion, then millions of years of being by his lonesome must be depressing.

why does it have to be anime? why not just animated?

Usually Variety and The Hollywood Reporter are the first two publications to do reviews.  If the movie is good the studios will allow these two to review as soon as possible to spark a good buzz.  If the studios conclude that the movie isn't that good, then don't expect many reviews until the movie is close to its opening date.  I expect to see a review in the next week or so.

TW-G, Well again you do say "You" have the definite answer and not that you got it from an official studio source, so this IS basically specualtion. You could be right, but it definitely isn't officially solved.

Yes, I agree with you and that it doesn't look like something that would fit with Godzilla's anatomical strucutre, but for all we know, it could be, as Godzilla is a far larger creature than any known animal, and could, therefor, have a skeleton with this kind of structure.

This is a reboot, so taking Kiryu into account is likely not a good, or accurate, argument.

I heard there was an embargo on when reviews can start being posted, like official articles and stuff. Correct me if im wrong though anyone. But there is an early screening on May 8th, we might be getting reviews a bit before that too.

Added larger spikes and filled in those big stupid screw holes. Will continue the spike upgrade this week then fill in all the seems and joints to make a huge Godzilla 2014 statue.

You can use the smooth brush to get rid of that line after you dynamesh. Try that out. If it's stubborn, try adding some clay on top, then dynamesh again, then smooth, then dynamesh again, then smooth more, until it's gone. It usually works great that way. 

As for the poly count, honestly, several of my models get that big too. I'm sure there are ways to get that count down, but i'm not familiar yet. I've been doing the loRes dynameshing and zRemeshing stuff and it's been helping with keeping polys down. 

yeah thanks again for helping! i actually just dynameshed it together in the end, suffer some detail loss but the outline is still there so I'm planning on just adding detail again and I've also reworked around the mouth areas to evenly distribute polygons manually, of courrse with the attached teeth on the face removed.

Although subdividing then multiplies the geometry to a bigger count then expected (8million) not sure if there is a way to avoid getting that high. lol ill be honest im not sure if I should be having that much polys. Regularly with the model like this it's at 2.5 million.

@Jmtrude, yuour idea of showing a whale torn to shreds reminds me of "Cloverfield" when some whales are found torn apart.

Godzilla has always been "the last of his kind."

The first Godzilla was actually meant to be a stand alone film just as this one is, but the success fast tracked a sequel to try and duplicate the success. In order to do it, they had to tweak the lore of the first movie to allow for another Godzilla, but the original Gojira was supposed to be a singular entity all on his own without any others.

Dr. Yamane said that if mandkind was foolish enough, they might create another Godzilla. Does this mean another Godzilla exactly? No. It means that they might create another creature, substance, or process that could cause the same kind of damage as Godzilla. It could be in the form of a Kaiju, or it could be something entirely different like a weapon humans create themselves. Ultimately, the first movie was supposed to stand alone, and thankfully it does.

But Godzilla was always meant to be the last of his kind. It's part of his design. It doesn't necessarily need an explanation, but if there is one then it likely has more to do with the facts surrounding his existence than any animalistic behavior.

Being a creature that survives on radiation, the lacking of natural radiation in the world after a certain time period in Earth's history would be the primary source for his kind's decline. Without his kind's natural energy source in abundance to suppor them all, they die off just as any kind of creature that loses its natural food source.

not sure if you are serious or not OP lol.....if you think those things clarify as having a bad year you cant be older than like 13.....cheer up, there are far far far worse things than that that can make your life a hell of a lot worse than it is now

Movie's not even out yet and we're fighting for tickets. No matter what I will get tickets for Godzilla in Imax 3D and I intend to go to the movie on opening day. ALso the run time 2 hours and 15 minutes? That is awesome.

No offense, but this has nothing to do with the movie save for the fact you hope it's good and will be pissed if it sucks.

Also no offense, but your personal happiness this year is none of our concern nor do any of us truly care about it on any level. Some people are being nice and giving you some support, but the truth is they'll forget about you and your complaints within hours of posting and never think about them again.

You're being incredibly childish holding a grudge against the "bad" things that have happened this year in your life so far, and quite frankly I'm appalled that you'd post your personal problems on a forum meant for Godzilla discussion just to get attention.

Also, threatening someone's life and safety (Gareth Edwards) can in fact get you sent to court. If I were to quote your post and send it to the police, they'd have cause to investigate you and your threat and you'd likely be forced into a hearing to explain yourself before a judge and jury to determine that you're not actually a threat to Mr. Edwards. If you fail to explain yourself properly and fail to prove that you're just speaking like this because your life sucks, they have justified cause to fine you several thousand dollars and throw you in prison.

This is a complete waste of not only your time, but ours as well.
